Hello there, slave girl here, still making tea. The only thing that's changed is that I went from making tea for a warm household with people who enjoy each other's company despite being inside a literal Calamity to making tea for a loner and some random dude she hired inside a vast, empty, cold castle. At least there's a kettle. It's an invention from Golmi, the capital of inventors. It's also where the world gets its golems from. I hear a majority of inventions created there are actually golems. They sure are versatile, huh. This kettle makes making tea so much easier. The Queen also had a kettle in her castle. As her designated tea maid, I used and abused that hot, smooth thing so much. I don't remember if the kettle was smooth, though.

As for who I'm making tea for, I actually have no idea. I tried overhearing their conversation, except I didn't try. I was too busy looking out the window. There was a lush green forest, beautiful birds flying in the clear blue sky, and a bright sun illuminated across the horizons. This really beats living in that deadbeat, literally at the edge of the world town of Hamblin. A man-made town sitting atop a man-made desert that literally destroyed that part of the world's ocean. Which reminds me, where did they get all that sand? I don't want to know, now that I think about it. It very much could be the crushed bones of countless corpses. So many skeletons.

Well then, time to deliver the tea. Usually, I'd get the butler to deliver the tea, since no one and their mother trusts me to do something sane within five metres of them, but fortunately, the two losers, I mean loners, have no idea who I am. I walk into the throne room carrying in the tea to see the man drawing a large magic circle out of blood on the floor, with a pile of Elf corpses in the middle of it. The man pauses and looks at me. He then looked at the tea, and an extremely ecstatic look on his face appeared. He immediately ran towards me to grab a cup. He must really like tea.

The owner of the castle, on the other hand, took her time getting to me. Man… no wonder she's a loner. Like, I'm not saying she's not hot. It's just that she's covered from head to toe in blood. The only people who fuck with crazy are now dead.

"Are you not shocked about the corpses?" She asked me. Now that I think about it, when maids walk into a room filled with corpses while holding a tea tray, they drop the tea tray. Time to drop it.

"Why did you drop the tea tray?"

"It's what a normal maid would do in this situation."

"..."

Time to unleash one of my secret techniques. "I'd be lying if I said I was surprised about seeing the corpses." Switching back to the previous topic.

"You sound like you're used to seeing corpses."

"I've been in the employ of the Queen of Hamblin, friends with a necromancer, and may or may have not kissed the corpse of my childhood crush." She looked shocked and looked into my eyes to see if I were telling the truth. I stared back with a face full of conviction. It's true, after all. Oh Julie, such beautiful leaps, even when death has taken you.

Lucky

You are Lucky.

Side Note: It's the luck of the draw.
