Sylvester POV
My brother and I have always been different. We look like everyone else,we have emotions like others, and we want to be loved but, whenever they see us there will always be pity in their eyes. Why, you ask? Simple, we're deaf. Meaning we can't hear, so we don't talk like everyone else. I don't understand why that makes us different but it does.
Because of our differences no one wants to be around us, so we keep to ourselves. The only person who makes an effort is our little sister Victoria who translates for us. We can only rely on ourselves so we have to be strong. But others want us to stay in our bubble. Why? Because the world is a cruel place for those who are different.
Like this one time we asked dad to teach us weapon wielding but he said it was to dangerous for us. Then two days later, we saw our little sister swinging a sword. We confronted dad and he told us because he would be to worried because of sneak attacks. That's why you train to get better. So we asked Victoria to teach us what she learned in secret. After 5 months we got the swordsmanship skill. We told dad and he was shocked then he was reluctant to let us train with Victoria.
They just want us to be dumb and be decorations in this bubble of a home. Seriously, this family is to over protective. Then it was the mini debut for children of four, it's to help kids get connections or friends. Well this is a waste of time since no one really speaks with their hands, they speak with their mouths. As the party goes on I see my twin brother Rudolph is as bored as I am. This really is a waste of our time and energy. Victoria seems to be having fun with the little girl over there.
The next thing I know a human boy started talking to us. By the way his expression was, he was probably mocking us so I didn't bother reading his lips. I looked at my brothers face and could see he was bored at this as well. Then out of nowhere ice went down his back. He then made a fool of himself. That was the highlight of the day, but where did the magic come from? And why would anyone help us, the broken twins.
That's when I see a beautiful girl with long silver hair and purple eyes, ah she must be from the snow-ice people. They are known for their beauty and strength, there on par with us vampires. She walked over to us, like she wanted to talk, guess we'll have to break the news to her that we don't talk. Then she signs to us, how? Turns out she's the youngest daughter of Duke Yorke and that she's also deaf. Finally someone like us and after that we became the best of friends.
Later that night our father asked us what we thought of Gwendolyn Yorke, we had nothing to dislike about her. So he said he's thinking of engaging us and that we would become an Arch Duke family since were related by the next king. And we can't tell anyone until the magic ceremony. Our lives are going to be more interesting aren't they?
