Chapter 1 A story begins
"My head hurts"
I wake up in a dark room. The only things that broke the darkness of the room were white lines of bright light coming through close window slits and through doors across the room.
I was lying on the ground beside 2 large piles. They were human. One of them snorted in mid-sleep. I get up and move ahead. The lack of any furniture indicated the poor state of the household. After fumbling my way around the walls, I came to the front of the door. I opened and moved out, only to fall to a depth below.
I wondered if I would fall into a pit. I found myself atop a husk pile. It hurts, especially my right arm. It took the fall. I look around to find a brightly illuminated environment with moonlight. When I look up, I see a pair of bright moons, one massive and the other of normal size.
"That is not normal."
I turned around to look at the building from which I dropped down to see that the door which I opened was on the second floor and there were no stairs nor any gate on the ground level.
It was a three-storey building with a slanted roof made of husk and wood. Uneven brick with mortar mix made the walls around it.
"Odd, but maybe this is the back side of the house."
On the other hand, there was a field surrounded by some shrubs, marking the boundary of the field, and in the trees around it, there were some wooden ramps, like shabby treehouses.
When I try to jump out of the husk pile, I hear the errie sound of something very ominous. It was a mix of laughter and sobbing. My body freezes and I slowly lie back. Whatever it may be, I don't want to know. I wait for an hour or so, looking upwards at the sky. The cold night of two full moons, combined with the sounds of owls hooting and wolves or dogs howling, gives me an odd feeling. I never experienced I brought my hand close to my chest and felt my heart beating. I look at two moons and try to assemble my thoughts.
First, I conclude that I am not on earth for sure. Neither is it any kind of dream or simulation. No, it is far more realistic.
Now the question arises, how did I get here? As far as I could remember, I was a high school student named Rayman. I was a good student, especially in math, chemistry, and physics, but not so bright as a student to create a teleporter or something like that.
Did I have a truck-kun experience like in Isekai?

That cannot be true for two reasons: first, it is illogical, and second, it is not who I am. I cannot jump in front of even a motor bicycle, not to mention a truck to save any cat, dog, or human. I am not that type of person. I consider myself a realistic person.
But first, if I take that strand of thought, a question arises: Does God or some entity powerful enough to do so exist?
Before I could ponder further on my thoughts, I heard a giggle. I slowly got up and turned to see a black humanoid figure residing beside me. I let out a scream and quickly ran down the husk pile. I was too close to that thing. I ran a distance up to the tree. When I turned around, I could not locate the figure that startled me. That made me more worried, so I decided to seek refuge inside the house by going toward the possible front side of the strange house.
As I ran toward that side, I heard a sob, which freaked me even more. Panting heavily, I rushed towards my destination only to find that there was no door. I ran a lap around the house and stopped before I could find myself back near the husk.
"Why is there no door here?"
"Hey! Is anyone in this house? Wake up. I felt I didn't know how to get back, "I shouted. "
As I was shouting, I realised the black figure was now standing just beside me giggling in a child's voice. It was made of pure darkness, with black fumes leaking from its body. I move slowly away from it. The figure tilted its head, or what I presumed to be a head. Its face was mangled and constantly changing. It moved towards me.
I blinked for a movement, and it vanished; I looked around but couldn't find it. I was thinking what it could be. I found it by the house fence pointing towards a path which strayed out of the house into the field.
"Who are you? What do you want? "
It kept staring at me with its mangled face.
