Chapter 28: Chapter 27 – Being punished purposefully.

The next day Lukas went out for a run and then returned to the house. He wanted to go to the [ Academy ] again to increase his status numbers and get a few more souls.

He had nowhere else to get souls, and it would be pretty risky to break into a dungeon. If he got caught, things would get a little out of hand. He could be arrested and banned from acting as a hunter in the future.

It was out of the question to risk himself that way.

"But that punishment is also a risk. I don't know what kind of monsters will appear this time. I could easily die inside that place if high-level monsters appear." Lukas swallowed his saliva and opened the portal.

He spent 100 souls for this.

Then he arrived at the academy. He bought a drink as soon as he came and then approached the treadmill.

"Hm? Isn't it the same quest? I thought my mission history would be saved or something. If every time I open the academy, the missions are reset... Isn't that a bit OP?" Lukas smiled and then started running.

He accomplished the mission in a few minutes, much faster than the first time. He had increased his agility before, and the treadmill suited his speed.

He then went to the other equipment, started lifting the weight and completed the mission that gave him another 5 points of strength. After wiping off his sweat and resting a bit, he again lay down and grabbed the bars.

Quickly, Lukas started lifting and lowering the weight. 1 lift per second.

He wiped the sweat from his forehead with a satisfied smile and went to the treadmill again. He had to run 20km in 30 minutes. He accomplished the mission with ease, getting 6 agility points.

Lukas prepared to face punishment again. He drank a water bottle and sat down on one of the benches inside the academy.

He stood there for a few minutes while playing a game on his cell phone.

"Right."

"25 lifts in 20 seconds? That's more than one lift per second!" Lukas tried to accomplish the mission, but his arms got tired, and he could not complete the mission.

With the announcement that he had failed, the door again appeared.

Lukas was in the desert again, but instead of starting to walk, he waited for the portal to open. And not wanting to wait for hours for the portal to appear, Lukas wished for it.

And after he wished, the portal began to form above his head.

He ran away and began to watch the portal slowly opening. After a few minutes, it was completely open.

Lukas stopped breathing and continued to look up into the sky, waiting for the first monster to fall. And after a few seconds, something green fell from the sky.

After it fell, the giant gooey monster bounced on the ground and then rolled.

"What's that? A frog?" The creature then stood upright. A frog of about one meter in height: its skin was green with a few red dots all over its back, and its eyes were golden.

The frog knew where Lukas was and made the first jump. Making a strange noise, it fell a few meters away from Lukas. Then the frog took another jump and tried to hit Lukas with its tongue as if he were a mosquito.

Lukas avoided the frog's tongue, hitting the ground just behind him. The ground where the tongue had struck began to turn black as if it were being corroded by acid.

Feeling a little nervous and not very confident, Lukas activated his ability for the first time [ Divine Eyes of Doom ].

After activating his ability, Lukas felt his eyes burn, and his vision turned red. He felt a great need to close his eyes but kept them open and stared at the frog.

The frog then stopped moving.

Its tongue returned to its mouth, the strange noises stopped, and it became utterly paralyzed. Lukas walked towards the frog and then kicked it with all his might.

Noah's kick destroyed part of the frog's body, and it flew a few meters forward. Over its body, a blue flame appeared, like the flame of the monsters that lived in the dungeons.

After killing the first frog, Lukas looked ahead with his skill still activated and saw an army of frogs jumping toward him. However, the toads that entered Lukas' vision were utterly paralyzed.

He didn't know the limit of this ability, but it was somewhat frightening.

Lukas also activated the new skill he had acquired called [ Lower Level Movement Acceleration ] and quickly killed all the frogs that came out of the portal.

He then sucked out all the souls and got a total of 534.

Then the warning that the punishment had been finished resounded in his mind, and the door appeared a few meters away. Lukas looked down at his legs covered in greenish blood and sighed.

He then entered the doorway and then returned to his room.

He quickly took off his pants and put on a new one. After that, he went into the bathroom, where he also took the opportunity to wash his clothes. After he finished his shower, he went back to his room and lay down.

"That was fun."
