Chapter 15: Chapter 13 – Cat girl goes outside

It was a beautiful day, so we planned to go explore outside. As I stepped out of Lizz's house, I was immediately struck by the dreamy view of this city named Merton East. It was a small city with breathtaking medieval European architecture. There was a river right in front of the house. The water was so clear and blue, it sparkled in the morning sun. On the riverbank, flowers and trees swayed gently in the breeze.

I closed my eyes. The sound of rustling leaves, singing birds, and splashing fish made me feel at peace. Far away, I could hear children playing and laughing, other people chitchatting on the side walk. I took a deep breath and stretched. I had never breathed such fresh air before. The air here had a hint of floral scent that made me feel calm. There was no pollution, no smoke.

Then, opening my eyes, I took another look around. Nearby, a stone bridge was placed across the river, decorated with vibrant red and green flower pots. On this side of the river, most houses were made of wood or stone, with red triangular roofs. Almost every one of them had a small garden for growing vegetables and a balcony for flowers. On the other side, it seemed to be more like the city center, with larger buildings. There was a tall and large bell tower. Lizz said that it belonged to the Church of Divine Light, a place of worship for Aurora, the goddess of light.

"Come on, let's go!" Lizz grabbed my hand and led me away. Our plan for today was to go visit the city square and the bustling market.

However, there was a problem.

“Urrghhh… at this rate, I’m going to have a vitamin deficiency nya…” 

As a DeathWhizkersz, my white hair and blue eyes held the potential to attract unwanted attention. Therefore, I had to wear a full-body cloak and a feathery eyemask. This was completely against my nature! Everyone knows that cats are animals that love to sunbathe. They even need to sunbathe every day, rolling around warmly for hours under the sun. So, wearing all this extra stuff made me feel like I was a vampire rather than a cat. But what could I do?

Meanwhile, Lizz got to wear a very cute pink dress, humming a catchy tune while holding my hands.

“Huh? What is a vitamin? Is that a brand-new type of magic? Or an element?" she asked.

“Ahhhhh, just… just think of it as a power from the sun nya,” I tried to explain about vitamin D. “If you get enough sun time, your skin will be healthy and strong, and you will be free of diseases nya…”

“Pfff! What are you saying? Haha, are you trying to become plants?”

“Plants? What gave you that idea nya?”

“Isn’t it so? Only plants get nutrition from the sun, you silly! Oh wait! "Look!" Lizz exclaimed as she pointed to my head. "No way, there are leaves on your head now!"

"What?" I raised my hands to her head but didn't feel any leaves.

This girl, she mocked me!

"Haha! From now on, your nickname will be 'Feleavescia'! Ohh, what kind of tree will Felicia be? A potatus tree? Or an appalo tree?"

My goodness, how could I ignore this? I immediately raised my hands and threatened to tickle her to death. However, she ran too fast! I chased her across the bridge, but never caught her. And there she was, jumping around while I was out of breath, making fun of me with her cheeky laughs and calling me all kinds of weird nicknames.

Suddenly, there was a noise coming from a nearby bush. We turned to look, and "Oink Oink!", a black animal that looked like a pig jumped out! It then ate red fruits fallen from a nearby tree, then oinked again.

"Ah! It's a chupal!" Lizz exclaimed.

So that was a chupal!

The chupal looked like a cross between a pig and a cow. It had a body like a pig, but a head like a cow. That explained the taste! The chupal meat that I had, they tasted like a combination of pork and beef.

“But this is not the one you ate though," Lizz said, whispering to me so that the animal won't be startled. “So, these guys you are seeing right here are the smaller, domesticated ones. People let them out so they can clean the streets by munching on scraps. They literally eat anything. But that also means eating poop and stuff. So that’s why people don’t eat them. But the ones in the woods, they mainly munch on berries and plants, and that’s why their meat is so tasty!"

“And what about that guy?”

I pointed to a different animal. It was a really chubby bird wandering around the river banks. However, that bird didn't have wings!

"That's a cookroo! This one is really delicious!"

"Oh!" my mouth began to water. "It really looks delicious nya!"

This cookroo reminded her of all the roasted chicken, grilled chicken, and chicken tenders I had in my previous life.

But... there is a serious problem with this cookroo. Without wings, how could I have chicken wings now?

And thinking about food made my belly rumbled again.

"Oh well, shall we go to the market first to find some grilled cookroo to eat?" Lizz asked, after seeing me hungry like that.

"Oh, that's a terrific idea nya, let's go nya!"

And so, just like that, a change of plan. Me and Lizz went straight to the food market to eat. We ended up staying there for the rest of the day, forgetting about all the other places that we planned to visit.

At night, I felt uncomfortable.

"Owww..." I made a crying face, lying on Lizz's bed and rubbing my stomach. "That was a mistake, a big mistake nyaa!"

It wasn't that I got food poisoning or diarrhea or anything, it's just that I ate too much and my digestion couldn't keep up! There were so many new and tasty foods, so many new flavors that I had never tasted before. Chupal roasted with honey, cookroo drumsticks grilled over preserved dragon fire, and many more. In the end, Lizz had to carry me home since my belly was so bloated, and of course, we both had to skip dinner. This made me feel like a certain blue cat in an American cartoon, the skinny one who shoved an entire watermelon into his mouth and ended up bulging out into a watermelon shape.

"Then tomorrow, are we having a food tour again?" Lizz looked at me and smiled, patting my belly.

"Of course!" I replied, "We haven't tried the special grilled fish yet nya. But... ehhh... don't make me eat that canned fish again nya!"

"What? Canned fish is delicious! I don't understand why you hate it so much!"

Lizz really enjoyed the canned fish thing, but to me, it was deadly!

I almost vomited on the spot after trying the dish. It was sloppy, slimy, and stinky. Disgusting! However, those canned fish vendors were always packed with cat people.

I wondered why, and immediately figured out why.

Same old question. What do cat girls eat? Girl food? Or cat food?

Turns out, they freaking love cat food too!

"No! I beg you, please no canned fish no more nya..."

I cried, and Lizz once again laughed and made fun of me, saying that I was the weirdest person she had ever met. Well, I would rather be weird than eating those canned fish again!

Then, after a nice chit chat, me and Lizz went to sleep. We just hugged and cuddled. No sex today, because I just couldn't do it with my belly full of undigested stuff.
