“Not just a lot, a ridiculous amount!” The little assistant gestured a small mountain with his hands. “I gathered that all of the gifts from the last two years were probably enough to fill over half of a 20 square meter storage.”
“… …”
The gloominess in Luo Xiu’s eyes deepened.
The little assistant only noticed that their boss was not in the best of mood when he had finished talking.
He studied him for a few seconds and asked carefully. “Brother Luo, what’s the matter? Why did you ask about these all of a sudden?”
Luo Xiu recollected himself and returned to his normal look. “I will go through the other gifts when I get back. As for the scarf… have them look for it.”
“--- ---?!”
The little assistant looked up in surprise, “Okay, I get that you want the scarf but you are going to go through the other gifts yourself?”
“Yes, can’t I?”
“Of course you can but this, this, this is so not you. You had never cared for these gifts before.”
“… …”
Luo Xiu ignored him. He picked up his jacket that was hanging on the rack and walked toward the door.
Something occurred to the little assistant all of a sudden. He chased behind Luo Xiu with a complicated look. “Are you trying to revenge Screenwriter Gu two-timing you by two-timing her as well?”
Luo Xiu, “… …”
It wasn’t every day when Luo Xiu found himself speechless.
A few seconds had passed before he turned around and gave his little assistant a indescribably look. “What’s inside that brain of yours?”
The little assistant said innocently, “I feel that’s a very reasonable speculation. What other plausible reasons could there be?”
Luo Xiu wasn’t going to explain at first but, before he started walking again, he paused a little for some odd reasons and finally said, “She is Gu Nian.”
The little assistant was dumbfounded. “Huh?”
“Mengzhi.” Luo Xiu paused a little and switched to more solemn wordings, “She just might be Gu Nian.”
He dared not be distracted while driving, especially on these windy roads around the mountain. A small mistake could bring about dire consequences.
As such, the little assistant held it inside of him the entire trip. They finally arrived at the parking lot of the base camp when he felt that he was about to suffer psychological impact from it.
As soon as he parked, the first thing he did was whipped his head around and asked, “Brother Luo, for the love of god, please stop with the torturing – How could Mengzhibe Gu Nian, er, I mean, how could Gu Nian be Mengzhi?!”
Luo Xiu, who had been resting with his eyes closed in the backseat, looked nonchalant. “You are going to bug me all day long if I don’t tell you?”
The little assistant pouted some. “I’ll try not to, but I’m not sure if I will be able to control myself”
“… …”
In order to prevent Zhu Hanyu from acting rashly and give them away, Luo Xiu finally summarized the conversation that took place outside of the conference room the other day for Zhu Hanyu with a cold look.
The little assistant let out an obvious sigh of relief after hearing it but also seemed gravely disappointed “You gathered that just from the phrase ‘angel’?”
“?” Luo Xiu looked up.
The little assistant struggled for a little and said, “I mean, Boss, you don’t pay a lot of attention about the entertainment circle nor are you a fan of any stars. In this circle, many girls talk like that. When they praise their idol, it is only normal for them to use terms like angel, fairy, and all sort of other crazy descriptions!”
“Very common?”
“Super duper common!”
“Mmm.”
Luo Xiu grunted perfunctorily, opened up the car door for himself, and got out.
The little assistant paused for a little before he quickly locked the car from the remote and chased after him. He continued to ask as he ran after Luo Xiu, “Aye, so did you believe me or did you not, Brother Luo?”
“… …”
This time round, all the way till they have arrived at the studio, Zhu Hanyu had yet to get a response from Luo Xiu.
