A Lizardwar delved into the mystery crypt located within the Replord Empire with utmost caution. He had received reports from his subordinates of increasing occurrences of minor earthquakes, the strength of which was rapidly intensifying. He had suspected the source of the seismic activity, but he chose to keep the information to himself, instead opting to embark on a solo mission to uncover the truth.
This place, now a mere relic of the past, once served as the final resting place of a tyrannical lord who reigned way long ago.
He spent an ample amount of time exploring every nook and cranny of the tomb. The only things he found were stones, moss, and a plethora of noble jewels that lay scattered throughout the area. While these treasures may have been of immense value to others, they held little to no significance to the Lizardwar. He was on a quest for something far more valuable, something beyond the reach of mere riches.
After an extensive search, the Lizardwar finally stumbled upon the ancient ventilation area of the crypt. He was awestruck by what he saw before him. Confined within a series of massive chains, he saw a giant black shadow flickering in the distance, seemingly in a state of unconsciousness. The Lizardwar stepped closer, a mixture of excitement and awe evident in his voice as he muttered,
"Finally, I have found you, my lord. But wait, there is no one here. Wake up, your slumber must come to an end."
With his voice echoing throughout the cavernous chamber, the mysterious creature slowly opened its eyes. It tried to move its body but found that it was unable to do so, still confined by the massive chains. In a voice that resonated with power, it spoke,
"How long have I been asleep?"
The Lizardwar stood confidently and replied, "Actually, you have been in slumber here for about a year, after transferring your power to your apprentice. The Divine Duo has passed on and humanity no longer possesses the strength to withstand another attack like that. The Soul Warriors also refrain from attacking the Empire due to the Council of Power. It is the time for you to awaken and return to your duties as ruler of the Lizardwar."
The monster was intrigued by the man's words and asked, "Is that dog truly capable of leading the Lizardwar? Has he improved under your guidance?"
The man smiled, pleased with the monster's response, "I am happy to see that some things never change. And, yes, I can say with confidence that your apprentice has indeed improved. However, he is still in need of further training. He is qualified- to serve, but not to lead or hold political power like you."
As the monster listened to the words of the Lizardwar, its expression grew tenser and tenser. Its muscles tightened, and its green veins bulged from its skin, causing an ominous and terrifying appearance. And with a step that could shake the very foundations of the world, the creature unleashed a scream that shattered the surroundings, breaking apart the ground and sending everything tumbling into the depths below.
The Lizardwar, who had been anticipating such an outburst, had already left the area before the creature's scream could reach him. And as the dust settled, a large hole took the place of what once was a crypt. Suddenly, a rough hand, complete with sharp claws, reached out from the crater and clung to the edge of the cliff.
That monster climbed out of there and stretched the body. As soon as it left the place that used to be a crypt, the scene of the ruins of an ancient kingdom caught his eye.
