On the ninth floor of the Nazarick is where you'll find the royal quarters. Only the ones known as supreme baings have access to the most luxurious bedrooms and chambers.
Naturally, a king-size bed, a dresser with drawers, and a closet made of wood can be found inside of one of these. The walls are painted in a dark colour, and the floor is covered with a beautiful carpet that has the emblem of the guild and player to which it belongs sewn into it. The light emanating from the room comes from the mysterious crystals that are concealed within the room's walls.
A scabbarded sword is suspended on a stand in the corner of this room. This is a tsurugi. It could be considered the katana's predecessor. In comparison to its successor, its blade was straighter and longer, with a double-edged blade.
It had gold engravings on its scabbard that depicted a bright figure vanquishing a king, and the scabbard itself was completely black.
The door to the bedroom swung open with a grunt as someone pushed on it. Ignoring the door that had just moments earlier come dangerously close to being knocked off its hinges, a woman dressed in a kimono with sporting silver hair and emerald eyes dashed into the room.
She immediately approached the sword, mumbling something under her breath.
‘I spent a lot of money to forge you. So many of the sour items that I had to buy from the item shop due to lack of time. But I have no regrets, thanks to this you are a guild weapon just like that staff.’
She moved over to the sword that was tucked away in the corner, carefully removed it from where it had been resting, and began turning it in her hands.
After carefully examining all aspects of the blade, she removed it from its sheath in a careful manner. A blade that appeared to be made of steel materialized in front of her eyes. However, Atsune was well aware that the material that was utilized in the production of this sword was something entirely different, something that was significantly more dangerous and long-lasting than virtually everything else she had ever seen.
She could see her own reflection in the surface of the blade because it was so transparent. After removing the blade from the stand, she ran her finger along the flat side of the blade to examine it. She expected to feel the cold steel, but instead she felt a warm surface, as if the blade were greeting her upon her return. She couldn't help but grin, knowing that anyone else in this situation would have been met with disgust and rage from the blade for having the audacity to touch it without first receiving permission.
After that, she turned her attention to the hilt of the blade. It is entirely black, with light blue markings scattered around its surface.
Atsune was taken aback when she discovered that these symbols released a peculiar energy that dispersed like smoke throughout the surrounding area. She took this as a good omen, indicating that the sword spirit was starting to wake up.
She wanted to be absolutely certain, so she closed her eyes and focused intently on trying to feel the energy that emanated from this weapon. She had no idea how to verify her hypothesis, but it turned out that after a few attempts, she was successful.
After some time had passed, she eventually became aware of something. It would appear as though the sword has a trace amount of aura or energy. Although it was difficult for her to distinguish, she was able to recognize that the source of the energy was active rather than immobile and unmoving.
She also tried to speak with the spirit by calling out to it, but her attempts were in vain. She thought that after he woke up, he would be too weak to contact her and that it would take him a very long time to get the strength necessary to do so.
‘I don't even know your name. Grow strong partner, I will try to kill a lot of creatures to help you do that.’
She concluded her examination, placed the sword's blade in its scabbard, and then left the room, carrying the weapon with her as she went.
She is just about to shut the door when she notices a maid standing nearby. Cixous, she acknowledges that she is one of the forty-one homonculus maids. A pretty young girl with piercing blue eyes and shoulder-length blonde hair.
She makes a bow as soon as she sees Atsune coming closer, and then she waits for her mistress to go by. On the other hand, this one is nearby and he asks her a question as he stands there.
“Good to see you Cixous. Can you tell me what time it is?”
As soon as she started talking, the maid immediately straightened up and responded to her question in a very precise manner.
"It is 12:54 a.m. Madam."
Atsune was made aware, as a result of the reaction, that she did not have very much time left before her appointment with the Floor Guardians. As a consequence of this, she decided to use the ring that belonged to Ainz Ooal Gown in order to teleport to the sixth floor.
Before doing so, however, she hooked her weapon at her side using a scrap of material with a specific shape attached to her Shihakushō.

Upon entering the amphitheatre, she saw that the vast majority of the Guardians were already present. Albedo and Demiurge were the only ones that were missing. That is, both of the Nazarick demons, not including the lesser ones who are protecting the floors.
Except for Cocytus and Momonga, everyone bowed to her in greeting. Skeleton did not do so for obvious reasons, whereas Vermin Lord did due to the difficulty of doing so. His size and armour restrict him from making such flexible body movements, yet he would do it if the occasion demanded it. However, based on his previous experiences, he knows that hollow gestures like this are not valued by his lady.
Responding to the greetings, she approached the guild leader, who simply stared at her as if waiting for something.
She nodded, indicating that she understood what he meant and confirming that the sword spirit was definitely real. Momonga, on the other hand, was curious about the specifics, so she started asking questions.
“Is he asleep?”
She waved her head in reply, knowing that her friend wanted to know as much as possible to include everything in his predictions to avoid surprises.
“I know he is awake and weak but nothing else. He doesn't have enough power to contact me even when I initiate the attempt.”
The Guardians were interested in the conversation that their masters were having, but out of respect for them, they chose not to interrupt it. They could inquire at a later time when it is more convenient for them.
“Shall we tell her? This could prove far more problematic than we assume. And we'll have to keep an eye on them. Looking at their backstory, we don't know what they'll do knowing they're awake.”
Atsune closed her eyes while looking at him.
“What do you mean when you say 'should we'? Of course we should, you empty skull! They'll find out anyway, but if they see that we've been hiding it, it could lead to a rebellion, you brainless idiot!”
The skeleton began to glow green, which was a visual cue that the undead's passive talent had been activated, which in turn helped to calm the undead creature down.
“I would like to point out that I am a skeleton and have no brain.”
Atsune smiled mockingly and said.
“Yes I see just bones instead of flesh but somehow you are missing the most important one!”
After shouting this out, she took a deep breath being calm.
“Have you calmed down yet?”
Atsune smiled sincerely this time and began to apologise to him.
“Sorry momo. I shouldn't take it out on you.... again.”
Occasionally, things will unfold in a manner similar to this one. Atsune allows herself to be taken away by her feelings on occasion in order to de-stress from the tension and stressful nature of her work and, in this particular instance, the circumstance in which they find themselves. Thankfully, Momonga is aware that she is not saying this in an honest manner and that she is merely trying to relieve the pressure she is under, and he does not take what she says to heart.
“No problem.”
Their affair, if you could call it that, is interrupted by two demons who have arrived on the site.
“I apologise for the delay. We were held up by some shortcomings in the defence of the previous floors.”
