When Chris opened the car's lock, Kira quickly threw her big bag into the trunk and jumped on the passenger seat, turning to look at Kaitlyn standing outside with a cheeky smile on her face.

"Come here, hon. Jump on." Said Kira, a naughty smirk spreading on her face while she patted her knees, beckoning Kaitlyn to sit on them.

Kaitlyn rolled her eyes in mock annoyance and saw Chris's hand stretch in front of her in a gesture offering her help to jump in the truck that was quite high even without Kira already occupying the seat.

"Thanks." She muttered barely audibly, placing her hand into his and then crawled inside the truck's cabin sitting down on Kira's lap while Chris closed the door shut once he was sure she got in well. Then he looked back in the trunk and pulled a tarpaulin that lay at the side, covering Kira's bag from the wet snow falling on it.

He walked around the truck and glanced at the sky with his brows creasing in a frown for a moment while he watched into the dark sky. A moment later his face relaxed again before jumping in the truck without letting the women see his annoyed expression.

He took the driving seat and started the truck. As he was pulling his belt he heard the two women's conversation and turned to look at them with his eyebrow raised in a questioning expression.

"Come closer, hon, we have to do this." Said Kira hugging Kaitlyn's waist with a coy face while pulling the seat belt to fasten them both with it."

"You aren't really going to fasten both of us? This is not gonna work." Rejected her Kaitlyn.

"We have to do it. This is a rule." Said Kira persistently, however, there was a playful tone in her voice.

"Forget it. Fasten yourself. I will ride as is." Said Kaitlyn annoyed both at her tone and the belt that was clearly not enough to go around them and click shut, without needing her to press herself against Kira in a hug which she was clearly after if that coy smile was any indication of her intentions.

"We can't!" Said Kira, still with a happy voice. "Safety is very important."

"She's right." Said Chris with his expression barely holding from laughing. "Safety first. Especially in this weather. We ain't going anywhere without you fastened with that seat belt."

"See." Quipped Kira happily winking at Chris behind Kaitlyn's back. "Driver's word is a law. Come on, help me out."

"When did you two unite to bully me?" Said Kaitly watching Chris with squinted eyes, but still surrendered, turning to grab the seat belt that Kira unsuccessfully tried to move around her and press herself into Kira clicked it into the belt lock.

Kira with a happy smile brightening her face looked at Chris with satisfaction, while Kaitlyn sitting on her lap with half turn hugged her around the head finding this the only pose where she did not feel too constrained by the belt.

Chris smirked at the two hugging women watching him with totally different expressions, one playfully smiling and the second with her head slightly above the first girl, boring holes in him from the intense gaze of annoyance, and turning to watch the road put his truck into gear with a short laugh breaking out of him unable to keep it in.

They drove out of the parking lot in front of the bar and rode into the darkness where they saw the wet snowfall lighted by the truck's lights starting to pick up the pace.

Chris clicked the radio on but left it barely audible only to give a background sound.

"So what brought you two to my bar's door today?" Asked Chris more to kill the boredom of the ride than from interest.

While the conversation in the car flowed Chris felt that Kaitlyn was still quite guarded and clearly did not want to give out too much information neither about herself or the circumstances that brought her here, so she wasn't very talkative, barely giving a few words to his answers, however, Kira was quite pleased to have a conversation with him, chattering freely for the two of them.

"So Chris, you're local?" Asked Kira.

"No. Been here for a few years. Phil was one of the first people I got acquainted with when I came here. We hit it off quite well and he helped me a lot while I was still settling down. Opening a bar was his dream but with the kind of job that could be found here, it was a pipedream. I offered him to invest and we became partners. He does most of the job actually, I only help around occasionally when he is short on hands."

"Where are you from then?" Asked Kira.

"Nowhere in particular. I've been around the world, staying here and there not really having any place I'd call a home."

"But you staying here now."

"Well. For some time at least. I like it here. Quiet. No trouble. No hurry. Just enjoying the wild nature."

"Oh. I can understand that." Said Kira. "Been around places myself. Haven't seen my parents for quite a long time now. Doubt they would even recognize me now." She said with a bit of sadness in her tone.

As they talked, Chris carefully watched the road, concentrating on the driving carefully in this difficult weather, however, he noticed some movements from the women's side of the seat and a slight smirk creased on his lips as he glanced quickly to the side before returning his gaze back to the road.

Seeing that Chris noticed Kira's actions, Kaitlyn started to blush while slapping Kira's hand with annoyance and swiping them away from her thighs, where the goth girl was playfully harassing her stocking-clad legs with her grabby hands while having an innocent smile on her face and chatting with Chris as if she wasn't doing anything.

Chris was happy to have the conversation flowing to not make the atmosphere i. The car sank into uncomfortable silence, however, he felt that Kira's chatter was just a front for her sneaky fondling of the woman sitting on her lap the whole way they drove from the bar.

"You two are friends or what?" Asked Chris.

"Nah, we just met in your bar." Answered Kira.

Chris turned to look at her with a raised eyebrow as if to see if she was joking, then glanced at her hand patting Kaitlyn's tight then looked at the blushing woman in the business suit and turned back to watch the road with an "ouukey" expression written all over his face.

As they continued to travel holding a light conversation with occasional whispers between women where Kaitlyn's more audible whispers asking Kira to stop it and behave herself, put a wide smile on Chris' lips, which he felt Kira noticing was one of the reasons she was even more naughty with her hands the more Kaitlyn struggled.

As the girls squirmed on the passenger seat having a small fight for dominance where Kaitlyn struggled to swipe away Kira's harassing hand and Kira finding new places to "hold" onto Kaitlyn so that she would not fall off her lap while squirming, Chris noticed something in the distance and frowned which brought girls attention to the road.

"Is that a car there?" Asked Kira as Chris slowed down the truck, looking to the side.

"Oh. Yeah. That's my car." Said, Kaitlyn.

"Wait. You walked from here?" Asked Kira with surprise.

"Umm." Voiced Kaitlyn. "Chris, could you stop here for a moment? I have a few things in the car."

"Tell me what you need, and I'll bring it." Said Chris stopping his truck at the side of the road and turning on the emergency lights. "You'll get pneumonia walking in these clothes there."

"Thanks." Said Kaitlyn quietly in gratitude finally looking at him with an amiable look on her face. As she saw the weather outside she shivered from just the idea to walk into it. She took out a car key from her jacket and stretched her hand offering it to him.

Chris looked at the stylish control with a star-like pattern of Mercedes-Benz on it with a raised eyebrow and took it without comment.

"I left my small travel bag there and my phone charger is in it. Besides that, there is nothing else that really matters. I had the bag on the front passenger seat when I drove." Said, Kaitlyn.

Chris nodded and jumped out of the truck, quickly running to the car that was abandoned in the field with two deep tracks in the muddy ground leading from the road where it lost control flying off the road to the place where it finally stopped, stuck in the mud of the field.

Chris came close to the car that was already covered by the layer of snow and opened its door with Kaitlyn's key, two blinks of orange light lighting up from under the snow.

He opened the door and looked around the interior, finding the small bag that Kaitlyn mentioned on the floor under the passenger seat. He took the bag, looked around once more to see if there was anything else, and closed the door behind himself with two blinks signaling that it got locked.

He threw Kaitlyn's bag in the trunk near Kira's bag, covering them with tarpaulin again, and ran back to the driving seat.

"Whoah." Voiced Chris shaking off the wet snow that was sticking to everything like glue before jumping inside the truck. "What a weather. We'd better hurry up or we might not get there at all." He said driving off the side road back on the asphalt that was covered in a thin layer of white.

"Nice ride by the way." He said, turning to look at Kaitlyn. "Benz S-class?"

"It's a rented car." Said Kaitlyn quietly with a bit of an uncomfortable tone in her words.

"Still, such a car's daily rent must be more than my monthly gas bill. Guess you do well at whatever the job you have, but hope you won't go bankrupt for busting it." He said with a smile.

"It's my insurance problem." Said Kaitlyn shrugging her shoulders and looking away not wanting to dwell on this topic.

"But it's no wonder you flew it off the road in this weather. Rear drive wheels are most dangerous on slippery roads. Why did you choose it in such weather?"

"I drive similar back  home. Reckoned it would be better to take the one I already know how to handle." Said Kaitlyn with her head bowed.

"Well, lucky you did not get injured and managed to get to the bar. If you had lost consciousness there you could have frozen to death, and I doubt many people drove on this road today as there are no tracks in the snow in front." Said Chris and the women looked out the windshield, where they saw the road covered in white already so much it could barely be discerned while the snow kept hitting the glass so quickly, wipers had to be turned to the maximum speed.

Kaitlyn shivered from imagining what could have happened and felt Kira's hand slowly stroke her back in a reassuring manner while gazing up at her face with concern in her eyes.

Kaitlyn smiled at her weakly reassuring her that she was fine before swatting at the hand that started to creep up her tight again, only this time a smile kept lingering on her face instead of annoyance.

"God, you are insufferable." Said sighing Kaitlyn. "Maybe I should have gone with those drunkards, it looks like they would manhandle me less than you have already." She added making Chris and Kira laugh.

From then on they drove keeping their conversation light and trying to not disturb Chris that was concentrating on the road to get them safely through this weather. However, Kaitlyn kept suffering from her uncomfortable "seat's" paws that kept fondling her here and there the whole time.

Some twenty minutes later they finally drove off the road turning to the side road leading into the forest and a few minutes later they stopped in front of a wooden house at the side of the half-frozen lake.

"Come one." Said Chris shutting down the car and jumping out. He walked around the car, opened the passenger door, offering the girls his hand to help them get off, and grabbed their bags from the trunk. As he turned to carry their luggage to the house he felt a hand on his palm and turned to see Kira stretching her hand to grab her bag from his hand to carry it herself. He shrugged and let her have her way.

They quickly ran under the roof above the front door, walking up the stairs while beating off the sticky snow stomping their feet, and shaking off the snow from their shoulders and heads.

"Welcome." Said Chris as he opened the door to let them in before walking in after the two guests. As he closed the door he watched outside into the distance as if his gaze pierced through the darkness that settled there and sighed heavily. "Damn, this gonna be a heavy storm." He muttered as he closed the door shut.
