An hour before the start of operation...

Patrol Team 3 was ordered to rally up back to Arkson Base.

While traversing around the forest, the patrol team makes their way through the forest with the help of their NODS. They were ordered to regroup at the base as Able 1-1 holds the base for defensive preparations.

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 95 ] : " *whispers*  What do you think, capt’n? Are the bandits heading out towards Arkson Base?"

[ Patrol Team 3 Lead ] [ Unit 11 ] : " *whispers*  Perhaps. Able 1-1 said that they are approximately eighty-plus of them. It's impossible to gather around such numbers, except if you are an organized group."

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers*   Don't you think it's the knights that came out instead of the bandits?"

[ Patrol Team 3 Lead ] [ Unit 11 ] : " *whispers*  I don't know. The abandoned camp we saw earlier is like a temporary camp. I'm guessing they are just a reconnaissance or patrol group. They might be knights coming to respond."

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 75 ] : " *whispers*  Hmm hm. Might be “

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 59 ] : " *whispers*  Huhmm."

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 95 ] : " *whispers*  Hmm hmm"

[ Patrol Team 3 Lead ] [ Unit 11 ] : " *whispers*  Yea."

After a couple of minutes of walking, they arrived near the Arkson Base.

Unit 57 radios in to advise the base guards that they are coming out from their position.

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers on radio*   Arkson Base, Patrol Team 3 has arrived. Be Advised: We’re coming out from the southwest."

But then, Unit 59 notices something moving at their 9 o'clock. Due to his NODS, he isn’t really sure what it is, or who it is. He just points his rifle towards the area and observes it a little longer.

Unit 11 then gives out the call to move out and taps the other patrol units to go inside Arkson Base.

But as they are about to move out from their covers, a distinguishable head of a person pops out through Unit 59’s rifle scope. This shocks Unit 59 and immediately calls Unit 11.

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 59 ] : " *whispers*  Hey capt! I've got something at 9 o'clock!"

The other patrol units immediately look at Unit 59 and see that he is pointing his rifle towards the west. They all look in that direction while adjusting from their cover.

[ Patrol Team 3 Lead ] [ Unit 11 ] : " *whispers*  What is it, ‘59? Whaddya got?"

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 59 ] : " *whispers*  Look behind that tall tree, right beside the curly bushes."

Unit 11 then aims his rifle in the direction where Unit 59 describes. Also in his scope, Unit 11 can see a human head just above the bush.

[ Patrol Team 3 Lead ] [ Unit 11 ] : " *whispers*  Yep. I've got a visual."

The other patrol units aim their rifle and see the exact same head.

After seconds, three more heads suddenly pop out through their scope. It's the front bandits they are observing.

[ Patrol Team 3 Lead ] [ Unit 11 ] : " *whispers*  Oh what do we have here?"

While aiming at the bandits, Unit 11 instructs Unit 57 to radio Arkson Base about the certain unknowns.

[ Patrol Team 3 Lead ] [ Unit 11 ] : " *whispers*  ‘57, contact Arkson Base and tell them we got some unknown targets observing the base camp. Ask them permission to stalk and pursue. ‘75 and ‘95, protect our six and three."

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 75 ] : " *whispers*  Roger."

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 95 ] : " *whispers*  Checking 6."

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers on radio*  Arkson Base, this is Patrol Team 3. How copy? Over."

On the other line, Able 1-1 responds.

[ A.B. ] [ Able 1-1 ] : "*radio*  Patrol Team 3, Arkson Base. “

Able 1-1 checks his radar and sees that there are blue dots near the base entrance, indicating they are friendlies.

[ A.B. ] [ Able 1-1 ] : "*radio*  Patrol Team 3, Interrogative: Are you guys outside of the entrance by now?"

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers on radio* Affirmative, sir. But we won't be able to head inside right now. We got some visuals over here. Break: Requesting permission to provide surveillance over the unknown visuals?"

Able 1-1 then stops for a moment and checks through his radar. He confirms that there are about four white dots near the base and just tens of meters away from Patrol Team 3.

[ A.B. ] [ Able 1-1 ] : " *radio*  Permission granted. You're clear to provide surveillance. However, do not engage. Again, do not engage."

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers on radio*  Solid copy on your last Arkson Base. Unit 59 Out."

Upon hearing the transmission, the four front bandits get up from their cover and immediately run back towards their bandit group.

Unit 11 then leads the patrol team to follow and investigate the allegedly unknown targets.

[ Patrol Team 3 Lead ] [ Unit 11 ] : " *whispers*  Alright. Everyone, on me."

The patrol team gets up also from their cover and follows them.

After a couple more minutes, the front bandits have arrived at their main force. Little did they knew, Patrol Team 3 is quietly observing them from a distance.

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 59 ] : " *whispers*  Oooh. Here we go."

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers*  Looks like we have lifted the curtains."

Some of the bandits are wearing the armor and weapons they've looted and stolen from the Almeda Knights. Some and a few are wearing leather scale armor.

Patrol Team 3 is at high ground, providing clear and overhead surveillance of the bandit force. Unit 59 and Unit 75 are checking them through their rifle scopes, while Unit 11 looks through his binoculars.

Unit 95 covers their six and Unit 57 is on radio standby.

[ Patrol Team 3 Lead ] [ Unit 11 ] : " *whispers*  ‘57, contact Arkson Base. Tell them we've got company-sized contacts here."

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : "Rog. *whispers on radio*  Arkson Base, this is Patrol Team 3. Radio check."

But there's no answer, only static noises.

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers on radio*  Arkson Base, this is Patrol Team 3. Radio check."

Still no answer.

Unbeknownst to them, Able 1-1 is in the midst of a briefing where he ordered all units from the base for an evaluation. ) .

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers on radio*  Arkson Base, this is Patrol Team 3. Radio check."

*static noises*

[ Patrol Team 3 Lead ] [ Unit 11 ] : " *whispers*  Try contacting H.Q.."

Unit 57 shifts his radio frequency to H.Q. frequency for the emergency.

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers on radio*  H.Q., this is Patrol Team 3. Radio check."

Again, no answer. The other patrol units started to get worried.

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 59 ] : " *whispers*  Oh. Shit. "

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 75 ] : " *whispers*  Mama mia. "

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers on radio*  H.Q., this is Patrol Team 3, Radio check."

All static, but then...

Harvey: " *radio*  Yep. Patrol Team 03, this is Harvey, H.Q. Sorry it took a while. I talked to some of the operators here to provide some assistance over there at the base. What seems to be the problem? Over. "

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers on radio*  H.Q. , we are getting multiple contacts marching towards some mikes-west at the base. “

Harvey: " *radio*  Hmm. Can you describe them?"

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers on radio*   No problem sir. "

Unit 57 crawls beside Unit 59 and Unit 75 and uses his binoculars to observe the bandit force. He then describes their appearances, weapons, insignias, and structures.

Harvey then recognizes and confirms them as bandits by the armor they're wearing and the insignia of their flag, as he saw in the village in the midst of “Operation Moon Shadow”.

Harvey: " *radio* Patrol Team 3. Confirmed bandits! I say again. Confirmed bandits! "

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers on radio*  Thank you for the confirmation, sir. We've thought of that also. "

Harvey: " *radio*  Patrol Team 3, continue your surveillance. I'll contact Arkson Base for a follow-up response operation. H.Q. Out."

As soon Harvey hangs off, Unit 57 goes back to his position.

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 59 ] : " *whispers*  Nice. I’m now hoping to get some action. We've got nothing to shoot over ever since we've spawned. "

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 75 ] : " *whispers*  Try not to be trigger happy, ‘59. Thank you. "

Patrol Team 3 continues their surveillance mission as they await further orders.

At H.Q….

After the short briefing call with Patrol Team 3, Harvey contacts Arkson Base.

Harvey: " *radio*  Arkson Base, this is H.Q. Do you read me? Over."

[ A.B. ] [ Able 1-1 ] : " *H.Q. radio*  H.Q. This is Arkson Base. Five-by-five on your last. I just finished up assessing the situation over here. My men are now manning up defensive positions and waiting for further orders and instructions."

Harvey: " *radio*  Alright. Patrol Team 3 had a positive visual by their surveillance mission, that those unknown targets are indeed bandits. They are now heading straight towards there."

[ A.B. ] [ Able 1-1 ] : " *H.Q. radio*  What are your choices of action sir?"

Harvey : " *radio*   Operation Lament's Revenge."

Harvey: " *radio*   Okay. I'm gonna go and set the birds up in the air. "

Forward time. Meanwhile at Patrol Team 3’s position...

With most of the Arkson Base units were inside the briefing room, Patrol Team 3 is also listening to the live broadcast of the briefing by their radio feed.

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers*  This is it huh?"

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 95 ] : " *whispers*  Definitely is. Looks like we have to go to an uphill area for our engagement position. I think there’s a near one around here."

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 59 ] : " *whispers*  Where is that uphill again? Is it fine for us to position there? "

[ Patrol Team 3 Lead ] [ Unit 11 ] : " *whispers*  I think it's about southeast of us for about 600 meters."

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 59 ] : " *whispers*  Oh. Is that where we camped yesterday?."

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 95 ] : " *whispers*  Probably, yes."

[ Patrol Team 3 Lead ] [ Unit 11 ] : " *whispers*  Alright enough chatter. Let's go to that uphill. ‘57, make sure that the radio is on. "

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " *whispers*  Aye sir."

The patrol team slowly goes to the uphill that was assigned for them as their new engagement position.

Forward to the current time…

Inside VIPER 2’s cockpit, the pilots resume their engagement towards the bandits down below the forest.

[ VIPER 2 Co-Pilot ] : */ Hey give me a left shift. /*

[ VIPER 2 Pilot ] : */ Shifting *shifts the apache to the left* /*

[ VIPER 2 Pilot ] : */ Be careful to don't shoot the friendlies at that northwestern uphill. /*

The co-pilot checked through thermal mode and saw the flashes of gunfire coming from the top of an uphill. It’s Patrol Team 3, currently engaging the bandits.

[ VIPER 2 Co-Pilot ] : */ Copy. I've got their visual. /*

Meanwhile on the ground...

As the M230 rail gun and Hydra rockets engulfed the main bandit force, all of the bandits came running away. Some are trembling in fear and panic. Some are also no longer themselves and started to get insane.

Meanwhile, the bandit leader, Jackal, is also running away. He eventually escaped the tremendous amounts of firepower the Apache just unleashed, thanks to some of his bandits that he used as bait and shield. While they are being torn into pieces left and right, Jackal just cowardly ran away and hides underneath a loose rock.

He is trembling in fear as he continues to hear the grueling groans and screams of pain and death of his bandit men. He sits and cowers with both hands in his ears to try to silence his hearing.

Jackal : " WHA-WHA-WHA-WHA-WHAT THO-THOSE? I-I HAVE NEVER SEEN THO-THOSE THINGS AND POWER BEFORE! AM I DREAMING? "

He then looks around and sees all of his men getting torn apart in pieces, blown away in bits of guts. His eyes enlarged while looking at his dying men, and looked up to the sky. He is also gone insane.

Jackal : " Hehehehehe. This is surely just a dream. It's a nightmare..................”

 

 

 

 

“.........I had to wake up."

Then a Hydra rocket explodes in front of him, tearing both the rock and him apart.

Meanwhile, Patrol Team 3 are unleashing barrages of gunfire from the uphill with their suppressed M16A4 MWS. Thus, adding more damage to the main bandit force.

Random Bandit : "WAAAAAAA- *BRATATATA!* *drops dead* "

Random Bandit : "OH GOD OH GOD OH GO- *BRATATATA-BRATATATA!* *drops dead* "

Random Bandit : "MOMMY! MOMM- *BRATATATATATATATA!* *drops dead* "

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 59 ] : “ MOTHERFUCKERS! ARRGH!! *fires rifle* "

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 75 ] : " ‘95!, THERE’S SOMEONE BEHIND THAT FAT TREE NORTHWEST OF YOU! TAKE HIM OUT! "

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 95 ] : " ROGER! *fires rifle!*. "

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 75 ] : " NICE! OH! I ALSO GOT SOME! *fires rifle* "

[ Patrol Team 3 Lead ] [ Unit 11 ] : " ‘57, HOW’S OUR 6 AND THE RADIO?"

[ Patrol Team 3 ] [ Unit 57 ] : " IT’S CLEAR! "

Unit 57 sets up his radio behind him and laid down in a prone shooting position.

[ VIPER 1 ] : */ Arkson Base, this is VIPER 1, with a flight of two by HAWKSEND 1. We’re two-mikes until arrival. /*

[ A.B. ] [ OP Lead ] [ Able 1-1 ] : " *radio* Roger that. The helipad is now vacant. Standing by for the dropout."

[ HAWKSEND 1 ] : */ Aye to that, Arkson Base. /*

After 2 minutes, HAWKSEND 1 landed inside Arkson Base helipad while VIPER 1 took overwatch to the south airspace.
