Prologue: The vow
We had already landed on a seemingly alive planet. One that had three bodies of water and land in the same place, with faint traces of vegetation around the planet. The planet was not as big as the rest that had been saved and destroyed.
Yes, you heard me.
Destroyed.
My name is Trish, a tall female, and a commander of the unpopular hero group, Spanio Graila. If I had to narrate the whole thing now, it would go like this.
A hundred years ago, the multiverse and all of creation was struck with a battle against good and evil, light and darkness, angels and demons, heroes and villains. No one truly knows their origin, but let me not drift away from my narration.
Both sides, being strong and or weak, created beings with supernatural powers that their weak and feeble minds could never comprehend. The latter word used for this phenomena, was no other than “magic.”
One side, being for destroying/killing and the other, for creating/saving, went into an all out war, that lasted for several decades before a massive amount of contestants from both sides were relieved from life, thus bringing the war to a minor issue.
Both sides then came to an agreement. One which would determine the fate of the multiverse.
The heroes, Spunio Graila, did not part away from their duties and waited for the villains, Rashivans, to claim attack again, and so they did.
Destroying any and every planet they come in contact with. The minor war, now being a game. One or two members of Spunio Graila is sent to a planet to defend and the same goes for the Rashivans.
Once the heroes or the villains are killed, the victor lands claim on the battle field, the planet, and decides on what should be done with it.
Some times, the battles would rage on and the whole planet and sometimes, other planets or universes, would be erased from the history of the multiverse or existence.
That was just how the order was meant to be.
I, Trish, was already close to the planet before at two times the speed of light when my colleague mocked me and went faster.
I landed at a withered forest and looked at my colleague. Before moving forward, I checked the back of my right palm to determine whether or not, the Rashivans were close.
Written at the back of my palm, was a symbol, one that showed that I was a true Spunio Graila and descendant of the great deity, Gratis, who was also the source of our power.
The mark behind my palm was known as Navègat. A device used to locate the Rashivans and where they would land. At the sight of three flashes from Navègat, you would know that the Rashivans were close.
The Rashivans were forbidden to do anything to a planet before the Spunio Graila arrived or before concluding the battles that were held. Any decision otherwise would return to death.
“Hey, slow as ever hey, Trish?”
My colleague, named Mathias, walked up to me with his hands in his pockets.
“ Very funny. ” I replied back to him.
We walked a little to the outskirts and main life of the planet. There we could see life. Different species, some that I never heard about.
After my travels to different planets and battles, there was one thing I could deduce from this. And that was that, life forms all had the same features.
Maybe not the same technology, but they were surely similar in appearance. From what they called heads straight to their toes, they, including i and my colleagues, had the same features.
This planet, clearly had undeveloped civilization and technology. With everyone living in mud shaped houses and so on. This compelled me to try my best to save this particular planet.
We were gratefully welcomed with much hospitality because we were “foreigners “. We were taken to the chief of the village who told us about all the village’s troubles which we promised to solve once we completed our mission here.
Of course, we are known, far and wide across the multiverse, so people don’t have regrets when their planets are destroyed and they lose their lives with it.
“ Any signal yet?”
Mathias whispered to me.
“No, it doesn’t seem like the Rashivans are here yet.” I replied.
“ Oh that’s good, because I plan on chugging down this entire table.”
He said referring to the wide variety of drinks and food offered before us. This breed of people were simply a kind and generous specie and I hoped nothing bad happened to their planet.
Mathias chugged down the entire table without stop while I took light sips of my drink in order to remain sober when the time comes for the battle.
Mathias looked at me with disgust and looked away.
“ What’s wrong?”
“ Look at you, acting all big. Why won’t you drink?” He asked me.
I decided to reply him and remind him of the reason that we’re even present here.
I looked at him with a stern and cold look, but his drunken mind could not comprehend even the little things say before him.

“You know that we have to remain sober for when the Rashivans arrive, or else they’ll destroy everything in their path.”
Once both parties are present on the same planet, the Rashivans are allowed to do anything they want. This was what was feared by every hero, so they always remained vigilant.
“You know that they won’t be here for a while, so drink up.” Mathias was obviously drunk and reeked of liquor. I pushed him away.
The other villagers and drunkards reprimanded me and begged me to drink with them. Even Mathias, my own good friend, did the same. And so, I agreed.
It did not take a while before I became drunk and was not able to grasp reality. I was eventually knocked out and became unconscious.
Loud shouts and screams woke me up from my deep and short slumber. I slowly got up and saw the whole village in flames.
Pile of bodies before me and other piles everywhere. Almost half of the population had been “taken care of” and the other half were in panic and shock.
Before me was Mathias, my good friend and the cause of this whole situation, holding a sword. He was sleeping when the Rashivans arrived and only rose up when a villager woke him up.
I looked up and saw them. The Rashivans, floating and destroying everything in their way. As if the current damage was not enough, they destroyed more and more to their content.
As long as the planet was not wiped off the face of the universe, they were allowed to do as they liked until a team is knocked out.
“ What are you doing Trish!?”
Mathias yelled at me to get up. I, who was put deep in a spell by the inhumane activities before me, got myself together, picked up my sword and stood beside Mathias.
“ Let’s do this.”
“ You take north, I’ll take south.”
And with this being said, we parted ways.
I approached the Rashivan before me and in an instant, I aimed for his throat but the Rashivan blocked this with a blade of his and smiled.
The force of our collision, pushed both of us back and finally, the Rashivan before me landed on the main ground.
We continued our battle, with our swords making sounds of metal banging.
Rashivans are truly ruthless and disgusting species. The one before me took each of my attacks and smiled. Not only do this infuriate me but it also made me focus on killing him before anything else.
With our blades swinging there and here, I was given no opening to strike. This Rashivan was clearly not like the rest, but he was truly more powerful.
I threw my sword at him and he dodged it without taking much thought of me. I used this as an opportunity and got hold of his head and smashed it into the ground, making every corner of the planet shake.
Slowly, he took away my hand from his face and kicked me away. I was able to stop myself by floating.
I zoomed at him at a speed faster than light, but then stopped almost immediately.
I was more focused on something that I would have never wished would happen. There they were, Mathias and the Rashivan but in a more brutal and gory form.
The Rashivan held Mathias from his neck and without a lower body. From my observations, Mathias was now dead.
She threw Mathias’ body before me and cackled loudly. She began to speak.
“ What are you going to do now?”
Even I was confused. Looking at the condition of the planet, the dead bodies, hearing the cries of terror, and the Rashivans before me.
I landed slowly on the ground just before Mathias’ body.
“ Are you scared? Want to shout, hide, cry, run?”
The Rashivans taunt me. They mock me. Me, Trish, the commander of the Spunio Graila. But as wicked and evil as they were, they were telling truth, I wanted to shout and hide and cry and run, I didn’t know what to do.
Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up.
The only thing that came into my mind was that, I didn’t want to die.
From both sides, I was aimed for and struck with beams of bright light. Capable of destroying anything that could be destroyed, and as fast as the speed of light, even with the praises given to this ability, I was able to escape it by moving faster.
I decided to run away. I flew as fast as I could not looking back and ignoring any regrets that I may have.
“ Coward, running away.”
“ Don’t worry, at least we have this planet to ourselves.”
“Tch, I suppose you are right.”
The Rashivans cheer up and destroy everything. Screams are heard.
Behind me, I could hear the destruction sounds of the planet being wiped away but I could not look back. Of course, I had a lot of regrets but I had to forget them.
If I want to move forward and fix my mistakes, I need to disappear.
