Koda heard beeping, was it her alarm already? She felt so very tired still. She yawned, and stretched her arms and legs.

“Ouch!” a tiny and acute voice managed, as Koda hit something with her legs. That sure woke her up quickly. She lived alone with her sister. And that didn’t sound at all with Ophelia’s deep voice.

She shot straight up. Oh, boy, what had happened again? She was in a field, with five other people, they all were all lying down, looking asleep. And the pink metallic menace was sleeping at Marcy’s hands. Oh, she remembered everything, and very well. She offered to help the small pangolin, and, of course, it decided to knock everyone down. That little thing!

Koda took one step forward, and, well, since when was she wearing boots? Purple boots that went up to her thighs. As well as a small skirt, purple and pink with an eye belt, and a frilly shirt, with a big bow in her chest, again with an eye motif. Her long black hair was no longer in a ponytail, and had even purple streaks on it!

“What is happening?” Koda whispered, looking at her hands, which were covered in lilac gloves. Wait, since when was she holding a bead bracelet with eye motifs again? The beads seemed to glow lightly purple.

“Oh, you’re awake, leader Koda!” AOKP unity slowly started to walk up to her and away from Marcy. “Of course! The leader always wakes up first.”

“The what now?” Koda managed, opening and closing her mouth silently a couple of times after. “I’m no leader. I’m nothing in here. And what did you do to my clothes?!”

“They have transformed with you, of course!” AOKP said, coming up to Koda and point its tiny little robotic arms to her, as if wanting to be picked up.

“I... ok, I will pick...you...up?” Koda managed, squinting at AOKP. She slowly picked it up, holding it gently, like it was a baby cat. “Why my clothes transformed? And in exactly what?”

“You’re a warrior of the dragon master now! You have been granted the power to transform in this form made for fighting,” AOKP explained, making an arm movement as to point to all of them. “Everyone is transformed right now.”

“This does not look like a warrior clothing, at all,” Koda pointed out, grimacing.

“Of course it is! We have studied several of yours documentaries on girls that transform in this way to fight evil,” AOKP said proudly.
“Oh, god, that’s not good.” Koda sighed, bending down to put AOKP in the ground again. “Ok, how do I fight like that? I don’t even have a weapon!”

“Of course you do.” AOKP pointed to the beads on Koda’s hands. “Your bracelet is your weapon. Try using it.”

Koda looked at the bracelet with some uneasiness. “Like that?” she said, shaking the bracelet a bit in her hand. Which produced absolutely nothing.

“No, concentrate in the strenght inside of the bracelet and try to use it,” it instructed.

Koda sighed, but still closed her eyes and tried to focus on the beads. They were eye beads, perhaps it had something to do with looking into the future, like those future tellers who used eye motifs in everything. She focused on that, on seeing the future, and just like that she saw herself in third person, as she kneeled down to help Marcy first sit down, and then stand up.

She opened her eyes, and looked at the eerily familiar scene. “Marcy is waking up,” she managed, looking at the still body of the boy.

“Oh, an energy user, I see,” AOKP nodded slowly.

“Uuuhhhhgh,” Marcy muttered, slowly opening his eyes.

Koda kneeled down by his side, helping him sit down, and then stand up, just like in her vision. “Are you alright?”

“Dizzy, ah,” Marcy said, a hand on his forehead, as if he had a headache.

She stopped to really look at Marcy for once. He had brown hair and brown eyes with a light hazel ring around his pupils. He was wearing a brown suit with stars motifs, a brown top hat, and a yellow tie and belt. In his belt was stuck a small wand-like knickknack.

“What happened?” he muttered, looking around and squinting. “Why everyone is sleeping?”

“Mister nice pangolin guy here knocked everyone out, remember that?” Koda said with a hint of anger on her voice. “Then made us those weird clothings to wear.”

“Wait a minute, it saw us naked?!” Marcy asked horrified.

“No, I did not. Your clothing just transformed with you when I initiated your first transformation!” AOKP chimed in. “I have no interest in seeing anyone naked.”

“It thinks those are warrior clothings.” Koda said matter-of-factly.

“Oh, no, we are supposed to fight someone while we are in like cosplay?” Marcy asked, dejected.

“If things go accordly to the plan, you will not have to worry yourself about fighting,” AOKP muttered, more to itself than anyone else.

“Please, try your powers so I can catologue them and your affinity.”

“Powers? Like a superhero?” Marcy blinked surprised, turning to Koda. “Is that a dream?”

“No.” Koda shook her head. “Unfortunately.”

“Are you su-” He tried to say, being interrupted by a pinch on the arm from Koda. “Ouch!”

“See? No dream, just humor the pangolin and hopefully we can go home.” Koda sighed. “Ugh, I can’t have this convo four more times.”

“I can wake all of them now, I thought you might want the one on one session, however.” AOKP did the closest thing to a shrug as a robotic pangolin ever could do.

“Please, do.” Koda sighed with some relief.

AOKP made a small gesture with its tiny robotic arms. Slowly, Mari, Vicky, Ophel and Breeze started to stir and wake up.

“Ugh, what happened?” Ophel was the first to ask, sitting down. “Wait, what are you wearing, Koda?”

“Alright, I will only say it once, so listen up everyone!” Koda said, walking around clickly-clacking with her boots. “This little guy here,” She pointed at AOKP. “Transformed us in this sailor moon-wannabe cosplay. But it’s all real, and everyone got powers too. And I think or clothing will be back to normal when we transform back, I guess...”

“They will!” AOKP said cheerfully.

“I will break its arms.” Mari tried to stand up, getting dizzy and sitting back down again. “Ugh.”

“Maybe don’t? It may not help us and we may need its help later,” Ophel said, looking at his green shorts and tank top, showing off his big muscles.

“I just want to go home...” Breeze said, sighing with defeat.

“Please, help cure my master, we need your help to find the healing stones for his illness. Or he will die,” AOKP said with a sad tone.

“We can’t leave, we need to help it,” Vicky said, snorting shortly after. “That’s so dumb! I can’t believe I’m in a shitty anime episode.”

“Let’s do the best of this situation, alright?” Koda interrupted. “We can’t leave its master die, we need to help them.”

“What if he is the bad guy? Why can’t he get the stones himself?” Breeze chimed in, a serious expression on their face.

“He was the prince of an alien species, which was slaved by a foreign force. He was cursed by those colonizers, as to not be able to save his people. He is too weak now to get the healing stones himself. If you don’t help us he will die and with him the hope of our people,” AOKP said in the saddest voice a robot could make. “Please, don’t let him die.”

“Alright, do we incur in any risk over helping or not helping you?” Breeze asked, very matter-of-factly. The only thing missing on them was some note-taking and, well, a heart, in Koda’s opinion.

“Yes, you do. Every time a warrior is born, a healing stone appears in the city. With it, a shadow warrior protecting the stone,” AOKP started, its tone matching Breeze’s. “The shadow warriors may go after you, even if you’re not after the stone. I can’t protect anyone who decides to not help us. You will be on your own against them.”

“Are we the only warriors?” Vicky said, face inscrutable.

“No, other beings are also able to create warriors, and may be on this planet trying to use the power of the healing stones to increase their power.” AOKP sighed. “You may have to fight a terrible enemy, the ones who slaved our people. They have been following us and trying to use the stones to keep themselves on power. They even stolen this ancient magic to make warriors from our people.”

“That’s awful!” Koda said, so extremely sad and touched by the story. “We need to help them! Please!”

“Ugh, fine, I’m in,” Mari said, and Koda felt so thankful that she could kiss Mari right there. Yet she didn’t. Maybe next time.

“That sounds dumb, but yeah, I’m in.” Vicky was quickly to chime in. “We don’t have much choice, right?” They grimaced.

“I’m in too, I will not leave my sis alone now,” Ophel said, smiling shyly to Koda.

“I guess I’m in too.” Marcy raised his arm briefly. “I hope we don’t regret it.”

“Don’t jinx it, Failed Kickflip,” Mari basically growled at him.

“It happened once!” he shouted back. “I can do a kickflip!”

“Sure you can, Failed Kickflip-” Mari started, being interrupted by the serious glare Koda shot her way.

“Look-” Koda tried, being interrupted by Breeze.

“We are in too.” Breeze stood up, looking around. “Can we go now? We have to be home soon.”

“I think we should maybe talk a bit about everything that is happening, and then exchange numbers and then go home,” Koda tried, a bit unsure how to proceed. “We don’t even know how to find the stones.”

“Of course you do, leader Koda,” AOKP chimed in again. “You have an affinity to energy, and you can see the future. If you do focus on the stones, you will find each one of them.”

“With the bracelet?” Koda muttered, looking at her beads. “Oh, alright. I will try later, I guess.”

“Don’t wait too long, we never know when the enemies may be around and ready to capture a stone.” AOKP found itself a good spot to rest on Ophel’s lap, for his surprise.

“Well, we can not fight along people we don’t even know, so what about we sit down a bit and just share something about ourselves?” Koda decided, smiling widely and sitting down. “I will start! Hello everyone, I’m Koda, I use feminine pronouns. I’m Ophel’s sister. And I’m going to be a psychologist in a couple of years.”

“That’s so dumb, but fine,” Vicky started, as the others sat down around Koda. “I’m Victória, call me Vicky. I use whatever pronouns, I don’t care. I’m genderfucker. And I’m going to be an marine biologist.”

“Very interesting, Vicky, thank you,” Koda praised, looking expectantly to Mari to present herself.

“I’m, uh, I’m Marizzia, but everyone calls me Mari, I use she pronouns and I think I’m a woman, yeah. I study with Koda.” Mari blushed, cute.

“I’m Ophel, please call me Ophel, I use he slash him as pronouns. Yes, I’m still a girl. Also I’m Koda’s sister, and I want to become a biologist,” Ophel said with certainty.

“I’m Breeze, I use they and them as pronouns, I’m studying engineering... And I’m plural.” They looked away, as if afraid of looking at any reaction. An expression Koda herself knew very well, one she did so many times when confiding her gender to someone.

“Like the university?” Mari chimed in, looking a bit too confused. “They always saying how plural they are.”

“What?” Breeze asked.

“What?!” Marcy asked.

“Darling, I believe you’re thinking about pluralism, not plurality.” Koda smiled kindly to Mari, who blushed in response. “Breeze is talking about plurality. Like having more than one person sharing the body with you. We saw a movie about it, remember?”

“Oooh, yeah, this makes so much more sense.” Mari nodded, falling in silence.

“So, and who are the others?” Marcy asked, as if making conversation.

“... They don’t want to talk right now. They don’t trust any of you, actually...” Breeze muttered, letting her voice vanish at the end.

“Oh,” Marcy answered. “I guess I don’t either. I can’t blame them.”

Breeze gave a small smile at it.

“I guess I’m the last one, I’m Marcy, I’m a guy and use masculine pronouns. I’m getting a biological sciences degree. I’m a singlet.” Mari seems about to interject, but Marcy continues. “That means I’m not plural or a system, like Breeze is. Singlet is the contrary of plural.”

“I knew that,” Mari muttered.

“Well, I think that’s everyone, so maybe we can-” Koda started.

“Go home and rest? Yeah, I agree, very much even,” Vicky interrupted, standing up. “Bye.”

“Wait, what about the rocks?” Koda stood up too.

“Tomorrow me’s problem, thank you very much.” Vicky looked confused at her suit. “How do I like change back again?”

“You can will it back to your normal outfit, or touch the stone on your chest.” AOKP made a gesture of touching its chest.

“Wait, everyone has a stone on their chest?” Marcy asked, looking down at his own chest and touching his stone. Suddenly his clothing vanished in sparkles, leaving him with his old t-shirt and ripped jeans. His stone popped out of his chest and became a necklace.

One by one each of them touched their stones, all exposed by holes on their outfits. In a wave of sparkles their warrior outfits disappeared, and their old clothing came back. Each stone became a necklace, just like Marcy’s.

“Yes, this stone is what allows you to become a warrior. If you lose the stone, you lose your powers.” AOKP smiled, as much as a robot pangolin can smile.

“Can we just leave them in a drawer and pretend this never happened?” Breeze asked, twirling the necklace on their hand.

“I would avoid doing so, as the stone is linked to your soul. If it’s destroyed, the effects on your health may be unforeseen.” AOKP looked away, as if ashamed.

“Amazing...” Marcy muttered, tiredly sighing.

“Look, we gotta do the best we can with what we have.” Koda shrugged.

“Or we could punch the little robot until it undo everything it did,” Mari was quick to stand up and take a threatening step closer to AOKP.

“Please protect me, leader Koda!” AOKP yelped, taking a step back.

“Mari, please. It will not help us at all.” Koda sighed, turning to AOKP. “Can we go back normal? Can you do it for us?”

“I’m sorry, once a stone is made, the link between the stone and each of you can’t be undone.” AOKP sounded almost apologetic. Almost but not quite.

“So no use doing anything against AOKP,” Koda said firmly. “Now we will all go home, have a good resting night and tomorrow night, after classes we will talk and go after this stone thing and help AOKP.”

“Ugh, fine,” Mari said, crossing her arms. “And who is bringing the little freak home?” She pointed at AOKP.

“Oh, yeah, I didn’t think this through,” Koda muttered, pondering. She sighed. “I guess it will come home with Ophel and I.”

“Wait, what?!” Mari managed. “What if its dangerous?”

“Then I will punch it!” Ophel said, showing his muscles.

“AOKP seems very inofensive, specially against our new powers.” Koda sighed. “We can take care of ourselves. And we live alone, so it will be easy to hide it.”

“We will be going then. Good luck,” Breeze said, touching their stone necklace nervously.

“Wait, let’s share numbers first! We can create a message group to talk better.” Koda smiled, picking up her phone.

“Fine.” They sighed.
