Chapter 8: Heading to the College
Cassell College was famous for being effective. Even though Lu Chen was told that he would receive his passport, flight ticket, visa and student card in two weeks, they arrived at his place three days later.
He was also given a general guide to the college, but he was too lazy to read it because it was thick. He would just ask the other agents to give him an introduction before he left for college.
For the past few days, he had been spending most of his time with the phone. After trying it out, he realized that this device was indeed intuitive and convenient. Gazing at the iPhone in his hands, he lamented that his country was indeed lagging behind in terms of technology, as some consumer products of the West were more advanced.
Besides scrolling through the social media on his phone, he had also tried to study more about Origin Space and the situation he was in. Apart from his attributes, he realized that there were also pages for blood lineage, techniques, and skills.
For now, he would ignore techniques and skills because the system basically recorded everything he had learned over the years. Having gained the title of God of War, he didn’t think it was because he was gifted in martial arts or the techniques he had learned. It was mainly because he was a Mystic Warrior.
After reading the introduction to his own blood lineage, he couldn’t help but burst into laughter. For all his life, he had always tried to pursue superpowers. He became a powerful Mystic Warrior through the mystic technology. However, he had never thought that this matter itself wasn’t scientific.
When he was a young kid, a kind of mystic drug which was supposed to bring him superpowers was injected into his body. However, one had to bear the consequences for such an injection. Most people who couldn’t adapt to the transformation ended up losing their lives or becoming zombies. He was one of the small number of people who successfully adapted to it.
Blood lineage: Godly mystic blood
Grade: S
Introduction: An ancient godly power from the East. With this blood lineage, the physical fitness of the explorer is raised significantly. This blood lineage is also compatible with the others.
Current attributes: Strength 30 points, Physique 30 points, Dexterity 30 points, Spirit 20 points
Side effect: A mortal with godly power, so the lifespan is permanently reduced by 80%.
The progress of refining the blood lineage: 10/30
Remark: If it weren’t because of the side effect, your grade would be higher.
Lu Chen ignored the other attributes and focused on blood lineage refinement and the reduction of his lifespan.
He had reached the bottleneck a few years ago. No matter how hard he trained, he couldn’t gain more power. Even one more injection of the mystic drug proved to be futile. Therefore, he believed that there was a limit as to how much power the mystic drug could bring him.
However, looking at the progress now, he realized that he hadn’t even reached half of it. The revelation made him feel both embarrassed and elated.
Also, he had expected that his lifespan would be reduced significantly because rarely any Mystic Warriors could live past 20 years of age. Therefore, most of the active Mystic Warriors were young.
The ending for Mystic Warriors was grim. They would either lose their lives on the battlefields or die of debilitation. When their last moments came, no one could escape god’s judgment.
He had psychologically prepared himself for this early on, but it was the first time he was given such a clear percentage. Then, he took a look at his personal attributes and saw his lifespan.
Lifespan: 18/21
“It seems that I still have a long way to go.” He put on a smile. If he were still in his original world, he would have accepted his fate. However, there were all sorts of superpowers in his current world, so he believed that there must be a way out for him.
Nevertheless, he believed that there had to be a way to increase his lifespan. With about three years to go, this wasn’t the issue he should be concerned about now.
Upon reading the guide for novices, he was puzzled. It contained some basic information about Origin Space and the mission world.

The question he had was that it was stated that the system would drop the explorer into a mission world that matched his level.
He was just a Lv. 1 newbie, so he shouldn’t be dropped into a world with a difficulty that was more than Lv. 3. However, the difficulty for this world was as high as Lv.40. Obviously, this wasn’t normal.
Nonetheless, he had no complaints about Origin Space. Instead, he thanked the system for giving him a second life to pursue superpowers and dropping him into a difficult world, for that would be more interesting.
Upon rising from the chair, he walked toward the back of the martial arts center where the picture of his master in this world was placed on an altar. After lighting up three incense sticks, he gazed at the old man in the picture for a moment and turned to leave. Even though his identity was assigned to him by the system, he still respected this kind-hearted old man who was a martial arts lover.
After picking up all the documents sent to him by the college, he stepped out of the center without hesitation.

“Hey.” He waved his hand at the rooftop across the center, but he got no response.
Feeling helpless, he said again, “What should I call you? Please come down.”
The black-haired young man, who had been keeping watch on Lu Chen for a few days on the rooftop, was stunned because he thought that Lu Chen didn’t discover him. Since he had been exposed, he decided that he should stop hiding.
After a few days of observation, he concluded that his future junior was just a normal young man who didn’t like to step out of his house.
Lu Chen spent most of his time fiddling with the new phone, so he didn’t look like someone who could kill the dangerous mixed race human with bare hands. The black-haired man was even worried that Lu Chen might get addicted to the internet.
This wasn’t unprecedented. Previously, they had found a Grade A mixed race human from a tribe in South Africa. Everyone was hopeful that he would be one of the best secret agents for the organization. However, after he got into contact with the outside world, he started sinking into depravity.
He was especially addicted to online games, so he spent the last few years of college in his own room. Despite having a privileged blood lineage, he wasted all his talents.
After the black-haired man went down the stairs, he introduced himself to Lu Chen. “I’m Huang Tao from Class 4 of Cassell College. I’m currently studying alchemy and mechanics. What is this?”
“It’s the flight ticket for tomorrow morning, but I have no money for a taxi now.” Lu Chen looked innocently at him. His intention was obvious.
“What?” Clad in a robe, Lu Chen appeared to be a hearty man. Therefore, Huang Tao didn’t expect that Lu Chen called out to him just to get a free ride. However, he was more surprised by the fact that his flight was on the next day, as normally, new students wouldn’t be rushed to reach the college.
“Dismiss,” Huang Tao said to the other agents through his headset. Since Lu Chen was heading to the college, their mission was over.
Previously, Heinard had requested a two-week absence from the college for them. Now, they had extra paid holidays, so there was nothing better than this.
