Chapter 64: Overprotective boyfriend!

"What just happened…?"

Standing with his face in a specific direction, Toshio spoke with a bewildered expression, just like the others.

A minute or so ago, Yuuta received a call from someone before he yelled in ferocity, and before anyone could say anything, Yuuta mumbled something to Sayuri and left without any further ado.

Sayuri was tense about the thing Yuuta spoke, but at the moment, she wanted to calm the people down. In a loud tone, she gathered their attention as she assured the others about Yuuta.

"Don't worry. He's okay. Yuuta-kun had some emergency because his friend stepped into some kind of trouble. He briefly told me about it and asked to pass this message."

In reality, Yuuta just apologized and said, 'It's about Mio', before he left. Sayuri didn't have to think even a second to discern why he was so anxious. She nodded and wordlessly bid farewell.

She knows clearly, how much Yuuta cares for the blond girl, and she respects that. But this acceptance doesn't help subdue this odd sensation in her heart.

She herself doesn't know why, upon seeing such utter anger on Yuuta's face and him worrying about Mio hurt her. And as if now, Sayuri was scared to identify this feeling.

"Is that so? Well, he should've at least said something."

Toshio understood something was not right, and Sayuri seemed to be hiding something. But he preferred not to dwell on his children's matters more than he should and coaxed the family back to eating.

"Yuu-chan seemed like something urgent must have come up. Well, we can ask him anytime after things settle down."

Mirai also regained her composure and tried to relax the mood as she picked up her skewer and continued eating.

Hajime looked at his daughter for quite a while, analyzing something which Sayuri tried her best to hide. But in the end, she failed.

But Hajime didn't want to spoil the picnic, so after taking the rein of cooking, he spoke in an enthusiastic tone.

"Okay, now! The next batch is coming right away! Everyone eat up to your fill!"

"You shouldn't have told, Yuu about this. He's on a trip, and now he is rushing down to meet me."

With an exasperated sigh, Mio leaned on the couch as she reprimanded the two big men wearing black and white three-piece suits and black glasses over their eyes.

Mio's mother borough a tray of juice and snacks for the guest as she scolded her daughter for being rude.

"Don't speak like that, Mio! They are the ones who protected you. Ah, please sit down and have some refreshers."

The older version of Mio spoke politely to the hulking men, which despite looking ominous, didn't scare the woman.

As her words suggested, the two guards were those whom Yuuta appointed for Mio's safety, for the time when he would be away. And these two are the guards who tackled Kyouya and escorted Mio back home.

One of them was the balded Bob, who called Yuuta as soon as the latter's phone became reachable. But Mio didn't want to bother Yuuta for such a trivial thing that she herself could have handled.

But the ship has now sailed, and now she could only wait for salvation.

"We sincerely apologize, Mio-sama, but this was strictly commanded by Yuuta-sama, to inform him even if a scratch inflicts on you."

Mio's mother rounded her eyes in awe upon hearing the caution this guy named Yuuta had taken for her daughter. She couldn't be delighted more to see how serious he was in their relationship.

Well, having bodyguards was a little over the board, but still, it shows how much he treasures Mio.

On the other hand, Mio was blushing profoundly, with her face dying in the crimson shade. She tried to hide herself behind the cushion, but it was evident how flustered she became to hear such overprotective orders from Yuuta.

'This guy… I will properly scold you for making a mess of me… '

Despite thinking that, Mio's heart was beating like crazy, and butterflies were soaring high in her abdomen. Who doesn't like it when their boyfriend fawns over them?

To an abrupt halt to her train of thought, the person she could only think about finally arrived.

*DING**DONG*
