Sayuri was in thorough distress.

There have been a lot of things happening in the last few days for her to cope accordingly.

First, the things which happened with her father. She was happy to find that her father returned with a positive conclusion about the relationship between her and Yuuta. But the things he stirred were rather weighing down.

Second, the last night was completely out of the planned event for her which Sayuri might not be able to forget.

She has never been in a relationship since she knew people date each other just for their needs and she despised those kinds of built-ups. She has seen countless relationships back in Kingdoms where people get together quickly and separate at that same pace.

Sayuri was slightly more mature than her age which led her to think that she could only become a lover with someone she truly loves.

But all crashed in when she got into an entirely fake engagement with a boy she has only heard the name of before.

But it was her selfish desire to be a part of this act so her father can move on with his life.

She never planned to be romantically involved with a guy who was even more arrogant than her and who has insulted her with a straight face. And definitely not with a guy who already was in a serious relationship with someone else.

But everything again came down to zero when she slowly developed feelings toward him.

She doesn't know when this happened or why he is the person who made a mess out of her heart but Sayuri couldn't deny that Yuuta is the first person she has ever crushed upon.

Not to talk about last night when she came to discuss the matter of her father and he comforted her.

That warmth…

It was a familial feeling yet there was something that she never has felt before. Like she could be dependent on him without worrying about what happens next. Like she could delegate all her worries and request for her share of happiness which Yuuta would grant her with a smile.

She doesn't know what she should do about this sensation but Sayuri felt it would be best for at least Mio to know about her growing affection toward Yuuta.

Sayuri was ready for any kind of redemption. Even if Yuuta leaves her today, she will accept it. But loving someone secretly was not her thing. She might have told Yuuta first but sometimes her heart makes her do things just on pure impulse.

'Sigh* What am I even doing here… '

Staring at the people having fun in the living area Sayuri sighed while holding a glass of water. She excused herself to settle down her thoughts but seemingly got lost in them.

Yuuta did ask her with his eyes if something was wrong but she assured him that she was fine. He was already a lot concerned about Mio's cold shouldering him. She doesn't want to worry for her too.

Well, she was actually fine but just her mind was muddled with useless thoughts.

"You okay?"

Sayuri instinctively turned on her heels to trace the source of the voice and found the small boy looking at her with his round eyes oozing with concern.

Sayuri blinked in perplexion since she never saw him walking inside as she answered absentmindedly.

"Yeah, I…. I am good, Shio-san."

"Oh, is that so? Well, I thought you were troubled about something."

Shio leaned his back on the kitchen slab as he asked in the same sweet tone. Sayuri didn't know that she was looking stressed or something but from inside she indeed was conflicted about various things.

However, it wasn't like she could talk it out with Shio.

"No, I am fine. Thanks for asking."

Sayuri smiled genuinely since the boy wasn't faking the concern. She might have only met him once or maybe twice before but she can tell how innocent this boy was.

Shio knew she wasn't going to tell him, taking their current distance into account and he wasn't going to keep asking about it either.

He just took what he came for before he started walking back to the living area when suddenly he halted to the parallel left of her and shared a piece of his mind.

"...I think it's better to talk things out sometime Sayuri-san. If you trust someone then it is the right of that person to know your suffering….."
