Tang Ke ran back to the main building. Though it was huge, he had a very good memory and went straight back to the little reception room without getting lost.

The two people in the reception room were startled by his sudden appearance. Xinya stood, a little flustered, and asked, "Xiao Ke, what's the matter?"

Tang Ke stiffened up.

He had seen it clearly in that short time. The two who had been sitting on separate sofas were now sitting on the same one. At the moment he had entered, his mother had been sitting with her head slightly lowered and her body nearly glued to the armrest, as if wanting to escape but having nowhere to go. And that man, Sister Yanyan's father, his uncle many times removed, was holding his mother's hand with one hand. With the other, he was reaching behind her waist.

He was so close to his mother that any closer would be holding her in his arms!

Tang Ke felt a wash of rage. Although he was only a little boy, he felt a man's strong aggression, and similarly even though he was just a little boy, he felt that strong male instinct to guard his territory rise.

His hand clenched into a fist, and for a moment he thought of rushing over. But then he remembered Han Yanyan, and her gentle, angelic face dissolved his rage.

He unclenched his fist and calmly walked over.

"Why are you back alone? Where is your Sister Yanyan?" asked Patriarch Han.

"Sister was with me for a long time and is feeling tired, so I came back to find my mom," he said. "Mom, we've been here a long time. It's time to go home."

Just a moment ago, his eyes had been as fierce as a wolf's. Had he been thinking of killing him? This little wolf... Patriarch Han wrangled a smile and replied, "Don't be so anxious and have lunch before you go. I was just telling your mother about a school transfer for you. East District's best school is Dong Chen. Your mother and I have thought it over and we think that letting you..."

"No, no need," Tang Ke shook his head. "My mother and I don't agree. I don't want to go to Dong Chen."

Patriarch Han was surprised. Xin Ya was startled. "Xiao Ke, what are you talking about?" Her child was precociously smart, and she had already explained this to him long ago!

Looking at her, Tang Ke asked, "Mom, do you know Aolin Academy?"

"Aolin?" Xinya certainly knew of Aolin. She had also considered sending him there. But after all, Aolin wasn't the best, and a mother always wanted to give the best to her children. Even if she had to pay for it.

"Sister Yanyan and I chatted. She thinks Aolin suits me better too. I thought about it and with my grades and spiritual level there shouldn't be any problem getting into Aolin," Tang Ke said. "Mom, the best isn't always the most suitable."

A flurry of alarm roused itself suddenly in Xinya's heart. Her son's eyes were too complicated and there was too much in them. It made her afraid to meet his eyes.

"Mom?" Tang Ke called her. Though he was still a young child, there was unexpectedly a little intimidation in his gaze.

Xinya was utterly confused and disconcerted. "This..."

"No worries," said Patriarch Han with a smile. "A child going to school is a big event related to the rest of their lives. It's something to consider it carefully. Don't make a decision now, go back and think it over carefully. Don't make a hasty decision about his future."

"Yes, Mr. Han. We will decide carefully," Tang Ke said.

They were only barely related, and when he saw his intentions toward his mother, he just couldn't bring himself to say "uncle" in a cute clingy way. In the end, he was still young. Though born with an innately thoughtful mind, he hadn't yet become shrewd.

He tugged at Xinya. "Mom, let's go."

"No hurry," said Patriarch Han. "I'll have the driver take you back after lunch."

Tang Ke was young and impetuous, and could think of nothing more than leaving behind this man who had made him feel humiliated as soon as possible. He opened his mouth to refuse.

"Oh, are you heading out?" Han Yanyan interrupted, appearing at just the right time. "I'm just on my way out too, coincidentally. I can take Auntie and Xiao Ke with me."

The lunch plan couldn't be saved, but things hadn't yet been decided. Xinya felt a little gloomy.

As they were getting on the hovercar, Han Yanyan patted Tang Ke's on the head and said to him, "Your sister would like to tell Auntie something. Xiao Ke, would you sit in the passenger seat with the driver?"

Tang Ke pouted a little. "Can't I hear?"

"No, you can't." Han Yanyan winked. "It's a conversation between women. Hmm~"

The end of "Hmm~" was raised, the sound seemingly rising oddly into a whirl. Tang Ke was still young, and couldn't quite understand what it meant. He only knew that it made him strangely nervous, so he obediently went and sat in the passenger seat. The divider was down and he had no idea what was being said or what was happening in the compartment behind him.

Sitting down, Han Yanyan saw a complicated look on the face of Xinya, who was sitting opposite her. She had just unconsciously revealed a seductive mien. Tang Ke didn't understand, but Xinya, an adult woman, did.

Although this Eldest Miss Han had a graceful demeanour, she was still just a girl. Were all girls so precocious nowadays? Or was it just her…?

Thinking of her father and mother and the nurturing she had suffered childhood, Xinya put away any hint of underestimation, not daring to treat her as a child. With a forced smile, she asked, "What does Yanyan want to talk to Auntie about?" If it was about puppy love between boys and girls or something like that, she would be happy to give some advice. It would do no harm for Tang Ke to get close to this Eldest Miss.

Smiling, Han Yanyan replied, "Auntie, with all due respect, you didn't do the right thing about Xiao Ke's school transfer."

Xinya's colour changed slightly.

"If you had asked my father, he would probably have helped Xiao Ke transfer to a different school, and even fund his studies. However, my father never makes an investment without any returns," Han Yanyan said. "Are you clear on the price you would have to pay for his help? And have you thought about how Xiao Ke would feel about it if you did such a thing? If a child who has already lost his father is ashamed of his mother, have you considered how it will affect his character growth?"

This was the second time Han Yanyan had been an Eldest Miss. Her aura was imposing, and her person overbearing.

Xinya's face lost it's colour completely.
