When he got off the luxurious hovercar, Tang Ke saw that his mother's eyes were red and that she was looking rather pale. Without knowing up, he relaxed mentally.
He opened his mouth, then stopped. In the end he didn't ask.
Han Yanyan waved to him from the window. The window rolled up, and the hovercar left in a wisp of white smoke.
When they were home, Tang Ke finally asked, "Mom, are you okay?"
"I'm okay," Xinya said. "Mommy is okay."
She crouched down and looked at her precocious child, feeling unbearably sad. Forcing a smile, she said, "Your mother has made a mistake, but now she understands where she was wrong. Even if you don't go to Dongchen, you'll definitely become an excellent mecha warrior, won't you?"
Tang Ke nodded hard. "I'll do my best!" he said forcefully.
Xinya patted him on the head. "Don't worry about the tuition. Aolin doesn't charge much, and your mother will work hard to make money."
She opened her mouth, but some words couldn't come out after all. She swallowed them.
"There is no need to let Xiao Ke know about this matter." Han Yanyan had told her.
On the way, the 12-year-old lady had showed her how to apply for a scholarship with her smartwatch, and then approved it on the spot. This foundation was said to have been established in her name by Patriarch Han on her tenth birthday.
"There is no need to let Xiao Ke know. But at the same time, I hope that you won't approach my father again. If you have any difficulties, come straight to me. It isn't easy to maintain the balance in my family." A dry chuckle came out of that little girl's mouth.
"Did Sister Yanyan convince you, Mom?" Tang Ke asked, inexplicably confident in Han Yanyan.
Xinya recovered. She was silent for a moment before nodding her head.
"She's a good person," she said.
Good person Han Yanyan went to her very own mecha training center.
She had the setting and memories of "Girl Han Yanyan", who had began using mecha at the age of eight or nine. But it was the first time that her true self had seen a mecha.
They were mostly humanoid, some of them only a little larger than the human body, like close-fitting armor. But others were huge, two or three stories high.

Though she had designed this world, the AI had filled in the details. It was based on the general's life that she had decided to make this world into one of spiritual power and mecha. She had been quite worried about whether those two items would trigger any safety regulations, but thankfully they hadn't.
It seemed that in Leo's world, although there wasn't the same fanatical pursuit of mecha as in this one, spiritual power and mecha were also commonplace.
But most importantly, the details that the AI filled in... were real.
With spiritual power there were a lot of things one could do, and mecha manipulation was only one of them. It was just exaggerated in this world.
Since spiritual power was used to manipulate mecha, if you wanted to strengthen your spirit you had to constantly practice manipulating mecha. It was actually a similar principle to the superpowers of the apocalypse world. Train, approach your limit, break through, and grow.
Han Yanyan was quite familiar with her private training room. She climbed into her mecha. Thanks to her character setting, she could immediately begin practicing without having studied first.
The staff off-site who were responsible for monitoring data were also well acquainted with her, but this time they were surprised to find that their already hardworking young lady was being more ruthless than normal.
By the time Han Yanyan left the mecha, her skin-tight mecha uniform was soaked as if she had been caught in the rain. When she got off, her legs buckled and she nearly fell. Fortunately, the staff had been monitoring her physical data in advance, and had already sent someone to help.
Han Yanyan was carried straight into the lounge on a stretcher.
"Why are you working so hard that you're risking yourself?" the staff asked her, speechless.
Han Yanyan lay naked in the recovery capsule. The hatch was closed, a mask covered her nose and mouth, and nutrient solution was slowly filling the cabin. It was a solution that nourished body cells, and it allowed the exhausted to recover in just a short time.
Lying in the liquid inside the recovery capsule, she felt as though she had returned to the post-apocalyptic world. After every training, she had been so tired.
But it hadn't been nearly as good then as now. Ding Yao would carry her back, wash her off, and then throw her on the bed and continue torturing her until she was dripping wet with sweat, filled with joy yet in agony.
Soaked in the nutrient solution, she abruptly felt like laughing.
Ding Yao and Yao Chen had one thing in common - they were both wild in bed. But who knew what sort of disposition the man named Yao had? If he came back to life, would he be embarrassed to recall all the things they had done together?
If Ding Yao and Yao Chen had this in common not because it was something that was part of his original character but because it was her personal preference imposed onto him, then it would be even funnier if they could one day meet again.
Thought she wanted to, Han Yanyan didn't laugh out loud. At first it felt lovely as the body was absorbing the nutrient solution, but after a while, once it began to act on the muscle, one began to feel keenly aware of the soreness. Immediately, she began to relive those times of suffering, being tortured by Ding Yao.
That's what you get for foolishly recalling memories!
Han Yanyan snorted, then closed her eyes.
