Arata comes from a commoner's family who has grown up with the dream of becoming the strongest hunter and avenging the death of his big brother.

He has grown with that determination and had a strong resolve to fulfill his dream one day.

To become a hunter there were two options.

First, either a person attains some commendable deeds and after a thorough evaluation from an affiliated and recognized guild, the said person could get their license and venture into the temples with their parties.

However, this method requires a person to be at least sixteen and the chances of the Guilds failing a person without connections and background were also high.

That's why most young youths try to enter the Pristine Academy which enrolls students regardless of their status and financial condition and hands them a license with their graduation.

Not everyone can get accepted to the Capital established Academy. Those who have proficiency and talent in any of the three skills—weapons, alchemy, wizardry— may enter this ultimate establishment which leads a person to a better future.

Those who enter the school through sheer talent are known as scholars and to remain in the school they have to constantly show their worth through the Re-evaluation test which happens every half year.

Arata passed the admission exam based on his talent with swords. However, he was not very good with theoretical stuff, unlike his childhood friend.

'*Sigh* At least I won't fail… '

Muttering to himself, Arata made his way downstairs and approached the main entrance. There were a total of five hundred questions and he only attempted half of them. He needs at least a hundred and fifty questions to pass the exam and continue his life in the Academy with his Serena.

'Well, not like being depressed would help…'

Hyping himself, Arara walked out of the main building when suddenly his whole body froze and smile broke instantly.

The first thing on which his eyes landed was a pair consisting of a handsome yet serious-looking young man, seemingly older than Arata. And a beautiful raven-haired girl, currently chatting merrily with the man.

Arata was aware of both of their identities and by no means, he found it appealing to see them together.

Arata stepped to a side since there were a lot of students exiting the Academic Block but his eyes were constantly focused on Seth and Anabelle.

'What is he doing…Don't tell me!'

Arata knew that Seth was going to target him through various means, as per what he has seen in those dreams. And the proof was that night when he ambushed Seth's mansion.

So the thought of that bespectacled bastard to be going after one of his future lovers didn't seem entirely unplausible.

With his inner rage rising at a dangerous pace, Arata focused his senses and tried to eavesdrop on their conversation.

However…

"!!!"

Arata wasn't able to widen his senses in that direction. He has trained his senses to the level where he can hear up to a half kilometer clearly without trouble.

However even though those two were just a little far, it felt like something was blocking him from entering that region entirely.

'That sly fucker! '

Arata growled in agitation since from his knowledge, this could be the cheap trick of that Psychic mage.

Arata wanted to dart at that place and warn Seth once and for all but Arata felt it might scare away Anabelle.

She has yet to get in proper contact with him. They just talked once or twice before and Arata also has yet to confess completely that he actually fell for her charm and would protect her for the rest of her life.

Without those, he thought it would be imposing to suddenly barge in between the two. And the way Anabelle was conversing happily -

'No, wait. She must be manipulated to behave like that… '

His anger boiled up even more as even the passing-by students felt the chills from his killing intent.

Finally, it seemed Seth was ending the talk as he turned after narrowing his gaze in the scoff at Anabelle, and turned on his heel to walk away.

Arata made up his mind to approach Seth as soon as Anabelle walks away so she doesn't end up seeing his unruly side.

However, as soon as Anabelle turned toward Arata's direction her previous beautiful smile disappeared and what took its place was complete disdain.

Arata didn't get the time to hide himself and now Anabelle's eyes were completely focused on him as she started walking in his direction.

Arata didn't remember how long it has been since he got so worked up as he was now.

Anabelle spotted him even among this whole crowd of students and also was approaching him on her own initiative.

If taken away that dangerous expression she had on her face, Arata might have gotten overwhelmed by this whole situation

'This might be her natural face…and she was just pretending to smile in front of that bastard…? '

Arara concluded as such since Anabelle generally doesn't smile much around others. However, before anything, he could have thought further Anabelle finally reached up to him before she stood while maintaining some distance.

Arata was stunned to see her from this close as well as her natural scent which left him speechless. She is truly the person worth to fall just at the first sight.

However, the first thing she let out completely flipped his mood.

"This would be my first and last warning, as a fellow student. If you ever dare to eavesdrop on us again or use any means to breach the intimacy between me and Prez, then you may not be able to attend the next Re-evaluation test. Make sure to remember that~."

She did smile just before walking away but that was far from beautiful. Arata might be a strong person if taken his age, but the way she verbally instilled the warning made him lose cold sweat.

Arata stood there for several minutes with his eyes still widened in shock but soon he realized what was wrong.

"So it's like that huh…"

The stone path beneath his feet cracked as his violent aura erupted. Thankfully there were no longer people around to witness the manacing smile curved on Arata's lips.

Looking in the direction where Seth left, a deadening thought made its way through his throat before Arara made up his mind about what he should be doing next.

"It's better I take care of this plague right now…"
