I was completely confused on why my status had changed this much without me knowing. I was sure that my status wasn't like this when I entered this floor, so what caused it? Was it the fact that I went to sleep?

WHAAAT!? Is this really my own status?! What happened here?! Both ‘Hollow voice’ and 'Curse' had reached level 99 while the other skills were level 50 or 79.

I let Aya continue eating the apples as I was checking out my own status. How did I level up so much in such a short time? Wait, now that the appraisal skill has leveled up, maybe now, I can see more details about my skills.

The first one is ‘Hollow Voice’.

Effects: A powerful attack which requires INT in order to use. This skill can be activated through the vibrations of the user’s voice. 

‘Hollow Voice’ can inflict fear on everyone who is able to hear it. Using this skill while possessing someone will cause permanent injuries on the possessed body.

As I thought, the appraisal skill can show much more information now that it leveled up. But what kind of thing has this skill turned into? 

From what I can understand, If I ever try to use my voice, it will inflict fear on everyone. But what's worse, is that I can’t let out even the slightest sound of my voice. I'm not sure how it will affect Aya if I do so. When I first possessed the goblin back then, I was excited that I could use the voice of the ones I possessed, but I still wasn't sure about that. My skill says clearly that it will cause injuries to its body. Since the skill was at level one at that time, it wouldn't do much damage, but if I continued using my voice, it would have injured Aya in a way. I'm so glad that I didn't decide to test out my skills on Aya.

Effects: No lights? No problem! This skill will make it easier for the user to see during the night. No matter how dark it is, the user will be able to see as clear as during the day.

No matter how many times I tried checking this skill, the same thing showed up.  Is this a bug or did the appraisal fail on checking this skill? I'm not sure if bugs apply in this system since it's not a computer game. Maybe the appraisal skill doesn't have the right level to check this skill. I should probably look into this later.

Skill: <Hearing>

Level: 50

Effects: Hearing is more than enough for a blind man to see his surroundings better than someone who can see. Being able to hear anything around may make you invincible.

But not just hearing anything... you are able to hear everything! 

As long as there is a sound, you’ll know. Even the way an assassin breathes can be heard if the user tries.

As I was thinking about this, I heard a small crackling sound on the branch where Aya was sitting while eating her apple.

I immediately rushed towards Aya and held her in my arms.

“Waaah! G-ghost-san?” But the second after I lifted Aya up, the tree’s branch where Aya was sitting broke apart and fell down. If Aya was still on that tree and eating apples, she might have fallen and smashed her head on the ground, and who knows what would have happened to her.

Aya was a bit heavy for me to carry in this form, but I tried carrying her as gently as possible, then I put her on the ground.

“H-how did you know it was going to break?” She was looking at me a bit surprised and happy at the same time. But I wasn't sure how to respond to her. Ever since I got here I wasn't able to talk at all and I didnt know how to transmit what I thought to Aya. This is the first time in my life that I couldn't talk to someone. I got closer to her and rubbed her head gently to let her know to be careful next time.

I understand what the hearing skill is capable of, and I'm glad I have this skill. Thanks to this skill, my hearing has become more sensitive even to the sounds that normally I wouldn't be able to hear at all.
