The sky was packed with hundreds of wyverns which didn't seem to be as peaceful from the way they were flying around.

Killing intent was coming from all over the directions I was looking. It wasn't bothering me or anything, but it made me wonder why they had so much killing intent.

I don’t know how different the dragons were from each species, but I’m sure that they were one of the most intelligent monsters out there.

Human possessions would probably be useless to them, and I’m definitely sure that human flesh wasn't their favorite dish.

And that only left me with the last explanation that I had in mind…

While trying to travel to another town, we accidentally stepped in these monsters' territory.

And while I was trying to get my thoughts around, one of the wyverns flew towards me, with the intention of eating me alive. But since I was a ghost, I didn't even bother moving from my position.

The wyvern passed through my body, barely noticing that I was still unscratched.

"You aren't as smart as I thought you would." I provoked the wyvern as it turned around in confusion. But before that monster could fly back to me, I used paralyze so it wouldn't try and reach the boat.

From this height, I'm sure that the wyvern will get serious injuries.

I began doing the same thing to the other wyverns as well before they could try and cause damage, while other wyverns that were from the other side of the boat, were either pushed back or killed by Kaito.

"..."

Many hundreds of wyverns were approaching this territory, almost darkening the whole sky from their numbers.

What is going on?! Even if Wyverns live in packs, this number was ridiculous!

And what's worse I could see many larger dragons, same with the one we first encountered.

Since I didn't want to risk revealing myself, I flew further from the boat and found a wyvern I could possess.

I already knew that there was a risk of exposing one side of the boat. That's why I had to trust Kaito’s strength while I would try and lower the number of dragons as much as possible.

I found this one dragon that seemed a bit smaller than the rest of the wyverns. But its white scales attracted me for some reasons, that's why I didn't waste any more time and possessed it.

The new body I was using felt comfortable, and while feeling the strong wind on the wings, I tried biting off the neck of another wyverns that were near me.

The sharp teeth that I was using were penetrating through scales as if I was biting butter.

There was no time to waste looking at this dragon’s status.

But I immediately realized the reasons behind me possessing this strong dragon.

Even though I can't feel any resistance from it, thanks to my possession skill leveling up, I could do things much easier.

I continued with my simple plan by continuing to kill other wyverns with this body, but things began to grow stranger as many wyverns didn't resist me.

This is definitely strange…

“Yaaaawrrrr!!” While I was trying to understand the way these wyvers moved, the dragon I was possessing suddenly let out a hoarse roar.

I was startled a bit from the sudden behavior of this silver winged dragon.

But when I moved my head towards my right, I found a different kind of dragon with dark purple scales which was at least triple the size of the one I was using.

“RAAAAAAWWWAARRR!!!!”

I could feel the ears ringing from its loud roaring noise as it was coming towards me with the intention of biting this dragon to death.

But I was wrong about something…

As I was trying to dodge its massive sharp looking teeth, a continuous long fire breath was shot from its mouth.

Shit!

I could feel the burning feeling of the firebreath, blocking my eyesight, and so the sense of my smell. It was a terrible feeling that almost distracted me from what I had to do.

But before I could fly away from that dragon, the silver dragon began flapping its wings, blowing the fire back to the dragon that was trying to kill us.

The firebreath sprung back to the face of that purple dragon which immediately let out a pained cry.

The silver dragon took back control of its own body once again and bit off the neck of that purple dragon which seemed to have tougher scales. But the silver dragon easily penetrated its teeth inside the neck and released some kind of liquid which felt like poison.

The purple dragon fell down within the next second, unable to move anymore.

The silver dragon attacked back on its own?

But for the moment, I didn't care about that as long as I could use this body in order to protect the boat. Nothing else mattered to me.

But while one dragon was already down, many more targeted the body I was using. They all had different sizes and colors, but most of them were wyvers which seemed really pissed and angry at me.

While I wasn't confident enough that this silver dragon could defeat this many dragons at once, I began avoiding every possible attack that those things threw at me. Most of their attacks were simple fire breaths. But their heat could even melt rocks, that's why I didn't want to test whether this silver scaled monster could withstand all of the attacks or not.

But from behind, I sensed a wyvern that was flying at an insane speed.

I didn't have enough time to even react back. And many more dragons were coming from every other direction.

I thought that at that point I had to find another suitable dragon to possess.

As I got out of the body in order to avoid pain, the silver dragon let out a loud screech that froze all of the dragons all around us.

Even I felt a little stunned from the loud sound that this dragon let out.

After I calmed down my senses, I stared at that silver dragon, ready to kill it if necessary.

But no killing intent came from that dragon.

As I was floating some meters away from it, those silver eyes stared back at me. They looked… as pure as a puppy, and for a moment, I almost forgot that I was dealing with a dangerous dragon.

"Are you friendly?" I asked out loud after confirming that this dragon wasn't aggressive towards me or the boat.

The silver scaled dragon had a smiley expression from what I could tell. And after trying to get closer to it, that silver dragon tried leaning its head near my hand.

It wants to be petted?

But unfortunately, my hand went right through its body, making it unable to touch its head.

But this confirmed that this dragon was friendly, and smart on top of that!

I glanced back at the boat behind me and saw that Kaito and his girls were managing to keep the boat safe. Even though many wyverns were still trying to burn down the boat, they had the strength to protect themselves together with the boat.

But as I was looking at them, Kaito suddenly looked at me from a distance and began yelling something.

From the strong winds, mixed up with the loud noises of hundreds of dragons, it was hard to understand what he was trying to say to me.

But soon enough, I saw a massive sized dragon that was at least as big as the boat, and it was coming right at me.

"Shit!" I immediately turned around and tried shooting fireballs at that red dragon.

But everything I shot at him barely even scratched it.

But I still continued shooting after noticing how my fire actually burned its scales a bit.

I wondered why it would continue to charge up even after receiving this much damage.

Does it not feel pain at all?

Even though both me and that silver dragon tried stopping that suicidal dragon, nothing stopped it anymore.

Its tail, back legs, and one of its wings were completely destroyed, causing that massive red dragon to fall down.

But from the trajectory this dragon was falling, I immediately realized that it was definitely going to crush on the boat.

I had a few seconds to think of a way to prevent that thing from reaching where everyone else was, and all of my skills were mostly useless right now.

"Help me! Don't let that thing crush the boat!" With barely any ideas left in me, I looked at the silver dragon which was flying by my side.

If it was truly intelligent, then I was sure that it could understand human language. And thankfully, as I was trying to push the red dragon away with fireballs, that silver dragon also released some kind of powerful wind which caused the red dragon to move away a little.

This was happening way too fast, and the red dragon crushed down the edge of the boat.

I noticed Kaito cutting down half of that dragon's body, but a significant amount still destroyed a part of the boat.

I flew back towards the boat and saw if the situation was still stable.

"How's the situation?" I asked the moment I landed on the deck.

"Not good.” He responded back to me.

Behind him could be seen three of his girls who were barely able to stand on their feet.

“Their number doesn’t seem to have decreased at all. We have to get out of here!” I told Kaito as I noticed that we wouldn’t be able to continue fighting those monsters for any longer.

“-Huh?! Hiroki! Watch out!” He warned me after seeing that silver winged dragon which had followed me all the way here.

“That dragon is friendly, don’t attack it!” I explained to him about the silver dragon which helped me kill other wyverns.

“But for now, where’s the captain of this ship?” I asked in a hurry.

This ship won’t be able to withstand any more attacks if it doesn’t find a way out of this swarm of wyverns.

“He should be in the main cockpit! I’m going to check what the current situation is like!” Kaito responded back in a worry after seeing that this situation was a lot more dangerous than we had thought.

“Protect the ship. I’ll go and check on the captain!” I told him before he could leave this area.

Right now, I’m only able to use fire attacks which could potentially damage the ship, that’s why I thought that it would be better if Kaito was the one to fight.

I know that he will protect this ship because of his harem members, that’s why I had my trust on him.

“Alright!”

Aya and Theresa should be safe in their room, but I still felt worried about them. And I knew that checking on them right now would only be a waste of time.

Both of them had gotten stronger, and I believe they could handle the situation in case something happened. Aya also has the healing potions, together with coffee, so they could use them without a worry.

I didn’t waste any more time and went straight ahead to the main cockpit where the whole ship was controlled.

But somehow, I knew that something wasn’t right the moment we weren’t able to get out of this place with hundreds of wyverns.

The moment I entered the main control room, I found many of the crew members on the ground, while the captain was lying dead, bleeding from his mouth.

As I got closer to each of the crew members, I noticed that their skin color was yellowish, and a bit of blood seemed to be coming out of their mouth.

I wasn’t sure whether there was some kind of skill placed on them, but their reactions were almost as if they were poisoned with some kind of lethal effect.

“Shit!” I cursed in anger after seeing that someone had planned this without any of us noticing it.

Kaito wasn’t the one who did this since I was sure that he wouldn’t have the risk of putting his girls in great danger.

I went outside the boat and looked from the side to see if there was something that had caused this.

Aside from hundreds of dragons that were flying all over the place, I noticed a small aura that seemed to be slightly different, coming back from the main cockpit of the ship.

I went back inside and tried following where that small presence came from until I found a small looking lizard that was messing around with the last remaining crew members that were still breathing.

As soon as I understood what had caused the deaths of everyone in this room, I shot a small fireball at that small thing, burning it alive before it could get away from here.

While I was on my way back to the deck, I saw Aya and Theresa which had gotten outside of their rooms.

Aya was carrying one of Theresa’s arms in case she would collapse on the ground.

“Hiroki, what’s the situation?” Said Theresa to me with a face which seemed to be in pain.

I tried checking her status in case she was poisoned but thankfully, she was only airsick. Even Aya seemed to be in a better condition.

“Go stay in your room. There’s a problem on the deck, but don’t worry! The rest of us are dealing with it right now.”

I didn’t want to lie to them about our situation right now, and I was sure that Theresa would push herself like she used to.

And right now, Theresa was in no condition to even stand up properly without Aya’s help.

“But!”

“Have a little trust in me.” I softly smiled before I ran back to the main deck of the ship.

The whole ship was vibrating a little, and the moment I went back out, I saw Kaito that was trying to push wyverns back with his long reach sword.

“Hiroki! The ship isn't moving anymore! Is everything okay there?” He asked as sweat was dripping down his face.

The other girls were also barely trying to keep up with him while trying to protect the ship from any further damages.

“Not good. The captain is dead!” I responded back to him as I began shooting fireballs towards some wyvers that were gathering around the side of the boat.

“....” Kaito was taken aback before his facial features tensed up into an angered one.

“K-Kaito! W-what should we do?! My barrier won't be able to hold any longer!” The priest had been overburdened herself by trying to maintain the barrier, and it's not surprising if the barrier wont fully protect us any longer.

“Husband, I don’t think I can last for any longer as well.” The gray haired girl expressed as she was having a hard time catching her breath.

All of the girls were worn down, and Kaito was already aware of that.

“Where are the rest of the crew? We won't be able to hold out any longer!” Kaito asked in frustration, not knowing what to do next.

Our only option was to escape from this place as fast as we could… but…

“They are dead, and the main control room has been wrecked!”

Kaito’s eyes widened in shock after hearing what I just said to him.

I hate to accept this kind of thing, but we were left with nothing else but to fight all of these dragons by yourself. The ship wasn't going to move until a strong wind would push us away.

But still, something doesn't add up.

How did we end up here, and how was the captain and the rest of the crew members killed that easily without any of us noticing it?!

I thought that for a few more seconds until the final answer hit me.

"*ghasp* The butler!? Where's the butler?!" I loudly asked everyone after realizing what had happened.

"The butler?! You don't mean..!!" Kaito also clenched his sword after realizing what I was trying to guess.

Our eyes glared all over the place before I sensed a dark aura flowing out the deck of the ship.

"Oya, it seems like I have been found." And from behind us, a dark like liquid formed on the floor before it took the shape of a human butler. His expression was still as calm as always, unbothered by everything that was happening.

"So it was your doing?!" The red haired girl angrily responded after the butler confirmed his deeds.

"Why did you kill everyone?! Was it really necessary?!!" Kaito’s teeth clenched, almost injuring himself from the anger. His real emotions were slowly bursting out, and he didn't seem to like where this was going.

While we were distracted by this butler-like figure, the silver dragon was killing as many wyverns as it could by shooting some kind of purple spherical glowing ball out of the mouth.

"HohoHo, cerentaly not sirs." His calm, yet butler-like voice responded back to us.

But none of us were fooled by his weird acts. He already confessed to his crimes.

"I have one and only one wish.” He slightly bowed his head before looking back at us. “And that of course is your death."

The way he just stated that with the same kind of emotion in his voice, almost made him look like he didn't feel anything at all about this situation.

“You’ll pay for what you’ve done!” Kaito pointed his sword at the butler-like figure before he disappeared from his position, leaving behind a motion blur of his own body behind.

Even my eyes couldn't see what was going on when Kaito moved at a high speed.

And the next thing we knew, Kaito had already cut off the butler's arms before he could cast any spells, rendering him defendless.

“Hoho, I do agree that you are much stronger than I was told, but that won't work on me.” The butler kept his smile as his arms began deforming until they turned into some kind of dark liquid, wiggling their way back to the butler’s severed limbs.

“W-what!?” The priest had her mouth slightly open from the disgusting way this butler was reaching his own limbs.

“That's gross!” The red haired girl twisted her face in disgust as his arms formed back as if they were never cut.

“Why would you do this?! Who was the one who sent you!?” I angrily asked him, trying to distract him before I could possess him and throw him off the boat.

But his face darkened a lot more, and his calm smile was nowhere to be seen. “Why would that matter to you right now?~” Even his politeness was gone from the way he was speaking.

But none of us took that well the way he was talking .

Some of the girls showed expressions of hate, one showed disgust, and the last two wanted to get rid of him as quickly as possible.

“--Because in the end… YOU’RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!” His eyes reddened, showing his insanity as he bit his own thumb.

I immediately understood that he was trying to do something really bad, that's why I rushed towards that psychopath that didn't seem to look human anymore. The white part of his eyes had gone completely red, while on his thumb, a red glowing thing appeared before blowing the ship up.

“TAKE COVER!!!” I yelled loudly as many wooden parts of the ship were being completely destroyed by a single explosion.

Since I was a ghost, I didn't get any injuries. But when I looked around, I noticed that the ship had taken a great amount of damage.

And now, with no one to control the ship, and unfixable damage, the whole ship was going to crash down on the ground.

I didnt have time to see wheather Kaito and his girls survived the suicidal explosion.

Aya and Theresa were a priority to me, and I had to make sure they were going to survive.

The ship was accelerating down as it was gaining more speed from the gravity. I couldn't levitate the ship at all since it was becoming heavier from the gravity of falling down.

I felt like the world was slowing down for me, and my non physical body didn't seem to be fast enough.

But no matter how much I wanted my body to move… I wasn’t fast enough.

Before I could reach the room where Aya and Theresa were staying, the whole ship began vibrating until it crashed into the ground.

Everything around me was blown to pieces while my view was covered by thousands of particles flying around.

“....”

Since I couldn't touch anything, I ended up some meters away from where the ship was. My body couldn't even stay intact with the ship crashing in the ground.

“NOOOOO!! EVERYONE!!” I called out to everyone as I tried going back to where Aya and Theresa were staying.

Nothing could be recognized anymore, and everything inside the ship was completely destroyed to pieces, covering anyone that was currently inside that ship.

Smoke was coming out of the ship as the view around me was slowly clearing up.

I immediately went towards the shipwreck and began removing any objects that were covering up the whole place.

I had to search for them! I’m sure that they are still alive!!!
That's what I continued telling myself while clearing everything in my path.

“Hiroki! Are you there?!” From my side I heard Kaito’s voice calling out to me, but I didn't bother responding to him.

What I wanted right now, was to see Aya and Theresa safe and alive.

“Hiroki!! Thank goodness you’re safe!” He worryingly said as both he and his girls were coming towards me.

Their bodies were slightly burned from the explosion, but they didn't seem to be life threatening. The priest had used her protection barrier that's why they had survived. Or that's what I thought at that slight moment.

“Aya! Theresa! Where are you!!??” I continued calling out to them as I tried sensing any alive humans around this pile of burned woods.

I couldn't remove all of the trash around at once because I knew there was a chance of hurting them if they were below me.

My very own soul refused to see my status or what condition they were in. I didn't even want to consider the chance of them being… d–

NO! I wont accept this!
“Everyone, search for any survivors!” Kaito told three of his girls after seeing that we were the only ones who were out here.

I was so desperate to find them to the point where I was about to burst in anger.

This is all my fault! I wouldn't have accepted this quest if I knew that we werent ready yet!

I got way too greedy, and now I am experiencing the consequences!

We all searched through the pile of destroyed parts of the ship until… from somewhere underneath I saw…
“A-aya?!” I called out to her as she was covered with dirt. Her skin had signs of third degree burns, some of her hair gone. Her face was completely expressionless as if she had fallen in a deep sleep.

I removed everything else that was still at the top of Aya and carefully carried her out of there.

But as I moved her away from there, I noticed something that she was holding close to her body.

Is that… an arm?

A severed, slim arm was being held by Aya. It almost seemed like she was holding it dear within her body, refusing to let it go even though she wasn't awake.

But my real nightmare began when Aya was much lighter than usual..,

Hearing dripping noises in the background, I turned my head below Aya’s body.

My eyes widened in shock as I couldn't believe the state that she was in.

“N-no…”

Her legs were completely gone!

No matter how long I stared, her legs were torn off by the destruction of the ship.

What kind of nightmare am I seeing?
