|Chapter Seven - Meeting the CEO|
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Later that day, Kim Jangmi contacted them again through iKaoSpeak. The message contained the time and address where they will be heading tomorrow.
Ygor couldn't sleep well that night due to his excitement. On the other hand, Calvin fell asleep a few minutes after turning off the lights.
Ygor yawned as they rode the bus. "How long did you sleep?" Calvin asked.
"I don't even know. My head hurts so much." Ygor just said.
They got off the bus to buy coffee in a convenience store.
"Here, drink this."
They didn't have anything left at home to eat so they didn't have a choice but to buy something before going to the company.
It was a chilly morning so it was helpful that they are drinking coffee while walking. Calvin noticed Ygor's hair.
"A-ah! That hurts!" Ygor felt the same pain when Calvin grabbed his hair before.
"Your hair's tangled." Calvin told him.
"You should probably have it cut." He added.
Ygor said, "But a dragon's hair is also a dragon's pride."
"Then if you get some money, buy yourself a conditioner." Calvin finished his cup of coffee, and Ygor finished after a little while.
They both stopped in front of the building when they arrived. "Hey, aren't they supposed to be poor?"
They both imagined it to be just a small shabby building. However, what they saw was a tall building. There was some construction going on too.
When they entered inside, it was very bright and clean. Not even a speck of dust can be seen. They both felt a little uncomfortable when walking on the very white tiles.
Calvin went to the front desk and Ygor just followed. "Excuse me..."
The woman looked at Calvin but she immediately noticed the handsome man behind him.
Long white hair!
"Ah yes, manager Kim Jangmi told me about you. Please have a sit while I call for her." Though there were no mentions of another man coming, she figured that he might be the man's brother.
They sat on the couch. It was very comfortable and Calvin was not used to its comfiness so when he sat, he didn't sit all the way to the backrest.
"I thought they were poor." Ygor whispered to Calvin.
Calvin nodded. "I thought so too. How did they manage to get rich this quickly?"
Their eyes roamed everywhere very amazed at the luxurious building, furniture, temperature and even smell.
"The manager is ready. Please follow me, I'll bring you to the CEO's office."
Calvin frowned. "Um, the CEO?" He asked.
The woman nodded at him while smiling. "Yes, she was happy to hear that someone is willing to go under the company. After all, it has been years since we lost everyone."
Calvin felt very nervous after knowing this. The CEO will meet Ygor, Calvin was worried that she might think that Ygor is weird or crazy and reject him.
Ygor who didn't know the situation just happily followed them without any hint of nervousness at all.
"Here we are." They arrived at the very top floor of the building. In front of the is a glass door with the words 'Office of the CEO Kang Min Ji.'
Calvin gulped when the woman opened the door. He was the first to go in and the very first person he noticed is the woman sitting in the chair in front of the desk.
She seems to be old due to some visible wrinkles on her face, but her looks are that of a much younger lady.
"Welcome!" The woman standing behind smiled brightly at them.
The CEO observed both of them for a while, then she stood up and walked toward them. Her cold demeanor seemed to have disappeared.
"So it was you, I thought that Jangmi was just kidding when she said that a handsome young man is coming today." She held out her hand to Ygor first.
Ygor accepted it and smiled brightly. "I am the current owner of the company. My name is Kang Minji, may I know yours?"
"My name is Ygor Aerouant, thank you for inviting us today." Ygor cheerfully and politely said.
Ygor Ae...want? What a strange name.
She then turned to Calvin to greet him. "Thank you for coming, you must be his brother?"
Calvin shook his head. "Ah, no but I am his guardian."
But they look like they are the same age? What strange kids.
"Oh, I see." Then she shook his hands.
"May I know your name?"
"It's Calvin, Calvin Dahl"
After the greetings, she sat back down on her chair and the three sat in front of her. They started discussing everything and it went smoothly.
"Ygor what do you want to be as an artist?" Minji asked.
"I would like to be an actor." He said.
"With your looks, you can also be a model. I bet you'd get a lot of advertising proposals." Jangmi added.
Minji nodded in approval. "How about you, Calvin?"
Calvin was startled by the sudden question. "I-isn't Ygor the only being recruited?"

He suddenly felt pressured when they all looked at him. "Do you not want to be an artist?" She asked.
"No, well, I am not good-looking." He shyly said.
Minji laughed a little. "Oh, you just need to know fashion."
She can tell that Ygor, at one glance, is a flawless handsome man. But with Calvin, she can see that with a few styling and haircut, his looks will improve.
She also noticed that both of them have foreign features. Their names are also not Korean.
Jangmi walked over to Calvin. "Let's see..."
Then she took off his glasses, styled his hair a little, and fixes his bangs on one side with a hairpin. "I thought you were naturally born ugly." Ygor couldn't help but comment.
And once again, Calvin's fists are shaking. "Oi, shut it." He said, briefly forgetting the CEO and manager with them.
Jangmi handed him a mirror. "See? All you need now is some training." Minji said.
"So, what do you want to do?" She asked him.
Calvin stared at himself through the mirror. The last time he saw himself with a decent look was when he was five, the time when his parents are still there to help him choose his clothes and fix his hair.
He thought to himself a little and remembered his father. "I....I can sing a little."
Minji smiled. "Then it's settled. I now have my first actor and singer in the company!" She announced.
Jangmi clapped twice. "Now, all we need is to prepare the contract and your documents."
At that point, Calvin wanted to slap himself so hard.
DOCUMENTS! YGOR DIDN'T HAVE ANY!
"What are those?" Ygor innocently asked. Minji and Jangmi looked at him with slightly confused expressions on their faces.
"Um, Birth certificates, IDs..."
Ygor looked at Calvin as if asking him about those. Then Minji and Jangmi also looked at Calvin.
"Ha ha..." He awkwardly laughed, cold sweat trickling down his forehead.
Minji noticed something odd. "What is the matter?" She asked.
Calvin looked at Ygor, and Ygor looked at Calvin. It was a staring contest.
He gulped. "Ah, you see..."
"Oh, is it somewhere far? Like with your relatives or parents?" Jangmi guessed.
"We can help you get there faster if that is the matter." Minji said.
"Um...no....it's..." Calvin has no idea how to cover up the situation. He didn't even have an idea how to explain the truth.
If they make up a story right now, then they will have to get fake IDs and documents afterward. It will be hard to find someone who'd be able to do that. And the even bigger problem is to find money to pay for that someone.
Since it's illegal, it will cost a lot. They better reject the offer now than go to jail.
"Tell us, we'll help you with it." Minji told him.
Calvin courageously pulled Ygor to the corner. The two women just looked at them dumbfounded.
"Idiot, you don't have any of those." He told Ygor.
Ygor glared at him. "I'm not an idiot!" He whispered back.
Smack!
"Idiot, it's not the time for that." Calvin unconsciously called him idiot again. After all, it's what he's calling Ygor all the time inside his head.
"I think we should reject them." He said.
Ygor was lost in his thoughts. "We cannot give this up..."
"So what? How will you tell them the truth? We might end up in a mental hospital!"
"Tell them and show them!" Ygor said.
"What?" Calvin was shocked.
"Are you sure about this?! Are you not worried about the consequences? What if they tell people about it and then haunt you down?!"
"But they don't look bad."
"You cannot judge a book by its cover."
"Why is a book suddenly added here?"
Calvin wanted to smack Ygor in the head again but stopped himself.
"Anyway, I have a good intuition. As a dragon, I think they are trustworthy."
Calvin just sighed in disbelief.
Someday, this idiot will come to hate humans. Betrayal just brings the worst out of someone.
"Let's go."
The two women who watched the two bicker and whisper in the corner have mixed emotions. It was fun to look at, but also somehow concerning because something feels very weird.
There shouldn't be any problem because they are only asking for some official documents. Yet why do those two look like they are in a big dilemma?
