Chapter 13: 13

Yukan charged at Sakumo and swung his katana in full force.

In Yukan's view, Sakumo had to be extra aware of his katana since he wasn't using a real blade.

But Yukan's view was wrong. Sakumo had never been aware of Yukan's katana.

While Yukan swung his katana, Sakumo simply turned to his left to avoid the katana.

"That was a nice swing but it won't work on an opponent stronger than you. Try again."

Yukan once again looked at Sakumo and decided to use his ultimate move.

'I'll use steel strength to break his wooden sword at least."

Yukan now activated the [Steel Strength] skill and hit Sakumo on his sword.

Yukan had used some of the strength in his legs too thus, making him faster for a second.

While a crack appeared on Sakumo's sword, he still managed to hit Yukan's katana in the middle and guided it away from him.

"Let's stop now," Sakumo said as he looked at Yukan after he used his skill.

Although Yukan could still go on, Sakumo wanted him to not be very tired.

"Now come here, I'll teach you about how to judge your enemy's aim and…"

After the whole day went by, Sakumo taught Yukan how to foresee the result of the enemy's action and Minato also made good progress in learning about the ninjutsu he got from Sakumo.

"I'll leave now, kids. You guys may go too." Sakumo walked away after saying that to both the kids.

Minato and Yukan tidied their clothes a little and left for their houses.

-At Sakumo's house-

"Hey, darling, I'm home," Sakumo announced once he reached.

"Shh, be quiet, Kakashi just slept, he has been crying the whole day." Myu scolded Sakumo for being loud.

Sakumo pulled Myu into his arms and kissed her.

Still kissing.

"...Enough, let me breathe." Myu released herself from Sakumo's arms and went in.

"Wash up and come to eat, I have just made the food," Myu said while going inside the kitchen.

Sakumo changed his clothes, washed his face, and went to the kitchen.

While the couple was eating, Myu asked Sakumo," Hey Sakumo, you have been here for 2 months, is Lord Hokage asking you to go back soon?"

"Yes, and I am also thinking of taking Yukan with me. Minato needs a few years before he is ready to get in the field." Sakumo said while taking a sip of the wine in front of him.

"That kid… Is Yukan ready to go with you?" Myu was worried. She didn't want her husband to mistakenly take a kid to the battlefield after making a wrong decision.

-At Yukan's house-

Yukan had already washed up and went into the kitchen to eat dinner with his mother.

Aayu had been coughing a lot that day and Yukan noticed it.

"Mom, are you alright? You have been coughing ever since I came home." Yukan was worried about his mother's health.

Yukan loved his mother a lot, she was his only remaining family and he was ready to use the [All-Healing Pill] to save her without hesitation.

"I am alright sonny it is just some dust." Aayu tried her best to reassure Yukan that nothing was wrong with her.

Yukan started to tell Aayu about his day and Aayu listened to him patiently.

-At Minato's house-

"Ha, if I don't speak for some time, I just feel as if I will forget how to speak in this silent building," Minato said in a clear voice as if hoping someone would hear him and give him a reply.

"Well, what should I make today? Mr. Shelf, do you have any suggestions?" Minato looked at the shelf above the kitchen's stove and said.

Minato opened the shelf and a packet of rice fell.

"So, we have rice for today. Not bad Not bad."

Minato took a heating pan from another shelf and put some water in it.

He lit the stove and put the pan on it after adding some rice into the water.

"What spices should I add today? Do I have any spices left at home?..."

-25 days later, at the training grounds-

"You both have improved a lot since the last month. I am going to leave for the front line in five days and Yukan, you will be going with me. Minato, you will stay in the village and train more. Now, I will give you guys a mission you will do together before Yukan leaves with me. Here you go."

Sakumo said as he handed Minato and Yukan a page on which the details of the mission were given.

Minato and Yukan read the mission details and were quite shocked.

"Sensei, this is a B-Rank mission. Do we have to complete this alone? Did you make a mistake and gave your mission sheet to us?" Minato asked.

Yukan was also scared like how Minato was but did not react much.
