Chapter 14: 14

The mission was:-

A total of 6 chunin are wandering in the area near Konoha after defecting from the spring village.

Capture or kill all 6 chunin.

The mission wasn't too hard for Yukan and Minato, the problem was the special warning given in the end.

Special Warning: There may be a jonin out of the 6

"Sensei, although I am sure we both can kill 6 chunin if there is a jonin…" Minato spoke as Yukan nodded in agreement.

Sakumo saw their reactions and understood their fear but he spoke," Don't worry, even if there is a jonin, you both can at least hold out long enough to send me or another jonin and S.O.S signal. Now, leave for the mission immediately."

Sakumo was not at all worried about the two meeting a jonin since he had already gone and checked the level of the targets.

Yukan and Minato left quickly with the emergency bags they had prepared.

Some days ago, Sakumo had already told them to keep an emergency bag always prepared and it should have all the necessities required to survive for the next 5-6 days.

Emergency bags were to be used only when they have to leave on a mission immediately.

After getting their names written in the register at Konoha's main gate, they both proceeded in the west direction.

"What does the map tell? How much time will it take us to reach their location?" Yukan asked while he was in front of Minato.

Yukan was responsible for any attacks coming from the front while Minato stayed at the back.

Although currently there wasn't a very big gap in their strengths, Yukan's perception was better, thanks to [Chakra Sense].

"It will take us around 1 day to reach the location. It would be better for us to stop after a few more hours."

Yukan simply nodded after hearing Minato.

-The Next Day-

Minato and Yukan stood in front of the location they got from the mission details.

They were a little further away from the location but it is not the distance that matters.

"Be careful Yukan, the Mengji clan lives around here."

The Mengji clan was a clan that was famous in the Warring States period for their super fast reaction speed, heightened senses and better physique than anyone but had only one weakness, they were vulnerable to... (A/N: An absurdly powerful clan that is made by me, let's just accept it and move one.)

They were very powerful but ended up getting destroyed which no one knows how.

"You don't need to warn me, idiot, we are already in their area, the one I am worried about is sitting in the bushes," Yukan said replying to Minato's warning.

Yukan could sense someone else of chunin level, hiding in the bushes.

There was a very high chance of someone from the Mengji clan being there since they lived here.

Yukan had never met them but didn't want to fight them either.

The six defectors started to move after a while, and Yukan and Minato followed them.

The two did not attack the targets since they wanted to be sure to not have any external interference in between.

After some distance, Minato and Yukan decided to finally attack.

"I'll go for the one on the extreme right, you go for the one left, after that, kill the two beside them. Then mission over and rest in the village." Yukan made a rough battle plan and gave it to Minato.

Yukan unsheathed his katana and Minato held his kunai like daggers.

The two launched themselves upon the targets like a spring.

While Yukan cut the neck of his target in one swing, Minato stabbed his target in the back of his heart using the kunai.

"One down," Yukan said. He wasn't going to make a mistake this time.

Rather, he couldn't afford to make a mistake this time, there was no Sakumo to help him out this time.

"You okay, Minato?" Yukan asked Minato to confirm whether he could continue to fight after killing for the first time.

"I-I am fine. You continue your side, I will manage." Minato tried his best to not vomit and assured Yukan.

Yukan continued to fight his targets.

He did not finish them quickly, he was sure he could kill them but wanted to test the skills he learned from Sakumo in the past month.

'Behind his back, towards the right and the other's a tilt to the left which means the sword will be around…' Yukan thought about things which did not make sense to most of the people but from the view of an experienced sharp weapon user, he was doing pretty well.

"Now, I jump to avoid Target no.1," Yukan said as he jumped and the person on his left swung his sword.

"That was easy. Now, good night." Yukan used [Steel Strength] and cut Target no.1 into two pieces from top to bottom.

"As for you, Target no.2… I'll just use a shadow clone."

Yukan made a shadow clone and looked at Minato's fight.

Minato had successfully killed one more person but was struggling with the last one. Minato's speed was getting slower his blows were getting weaker.

Yukan did not want to interfere but had no choice. He was still not as fast as Sakumo to save Minato at the last moment.

He decided to kill Minato's last target. 'Better not be sorry later.'

"What if I use [Steel Strength] and then throw like Sensei."

Yukan took out a kunai from his bag and held it tightly.

He used [Steel Strength] and threw the kunai in the last person's direction.

The kunai cut through the air at high speed, making a sharp sound.

The kunai hit the enemy on his forehead and disappeared inside.
