Chapter 41: 40

None of the four was able to react as Yukan took out his sword and swung it.

A very thin horizontal line appeared on Natsuko's lips. Within seconds, all of her head above the lower jaw went flying and landed in front of Maita.

He was dazed for a second and thought in his mind,' Aren't we the spies?'

By the time Miata could process everything that happened and move, Yukan had already appeared beside him.

"What are you thinking about?" Yukan asked Miata.

Miata tried his best to react and somehow managed to land a punch on Yukan's left cheek.

Yukan curved his spine backwards from the punch's impact and then stood straight again and said," That was some nice massage for the cheeks, punch on the right side also."

Miata was not able to do anything and when he saw Yukan stand straight without any damage, he lost all hope to make it out alive on his strength.

The only way to get out alive was to get mercy from Yukan so, as Yukan had said, Miata tried to punch Yukan on his right cheek.

As Miata's hand was travelling to Yukan's face, his arm cut and fell.

"AAAHHHHHH" Miata yelled in pain and tightly pressed around his arm.

"Maybe Harada has more strength than you," Yukan said and moved towards Harada.

Harada and Yuichi had already run away by now, so Yukan first chased down Harada.

She had not run away very far and with his insane speed, Yukan reached her within a few seconds.

Harada had stopped for a second to catch her breath. They were already running from the morning and now, Yukan was chasing after them… or those left alive.

Harada hid behind a tree and looked back to see if Yukan was chasing her. She kept on watching for a minute and after she saw no one coming, she stopped, put her hand on her chest and sighed in relief.

"He isn't coming," Harada said as she turned around.

"Who?" Yukan's voice came from Harada's left side. At first, she was scared but she quickly got a hold of herself and then used a wind-type jutsu to her left side.

"Wind-Style: Wind blade"

A big blade of wind shot out of her mouth which blew away a lot of trees in a row but, Yukan was nowhere to be seen.

"That was pretty decent," Yukan said. This time, his voice came from Harada's back.

This time, a fine black line appeared on Harada's throat. Yukan had infused the blade with his chakra.

Her head and body separated and fell a little far apart from each other. Both her head and body started to burn with the black flames but it did not affect the tree or the dry leaves nearby.

"Could it be.." Yukan wondered about something and then bent down.

He touched Harada's burning head while hesitating a little. When he touched the fire, his hand felt a little hot but the fire did not burn him.

"Now, what does this mean?" Yukan said.

He stood in the same place for a while, wondering about the fire and then when he remembered about Yuichi, he rushed in his direction.

Yuichi was still running.

As he was running, he heard the sound of water flowing from somewhere nearby and started running in its direction.

He planned to jump into the water and then make it alive. Though he may be stranded in some random place, it would be better than dying.

"There it is, I see it. I finally made it out alive." Yuichi said.

He could see the water shining in the moonlight.

His hopes to make it out alive had gone from 0-100 very fast but, as he was about to jump, he felt a very sharp pain in his neck and started losing consciousness.

The last words he heard before losing consciousness completely were," He almost made it."

As fast as his hopes had gone 0-100, they went 100-0 even faster.

Yukan picked up Yuichi and carried him back to the place they had decided to rest in. He tied Yuichi's hands and carried him like a sack of potatoes.

When he reached, he saw Miata still lying on the ground, struggling to run away and stay alive.

"I am not going to lie, you have a lot of brains to believe that I could catch you even if you ran away. Though, if you ran, I would have left you, but, since you are here…" Yukan appreciated Miata and played with his hopes like how Yuichi's were played with.

Yukan once again infused his sword with chakra and cut Miata's body.

This time, instead of himself, Yukan held Yuichi's arm and made it touch Miata's burning body.

Yuichi's body quickly caught fire. The black fire did not seem to stop, so Yukan cut Yuichi's arm.

Yuichi regained his consciousness due to the pain and started screaming.

"Hey, shut up. I just saved your life. You should thank me." Yukan said as he opened the rope tying Yuichi and then tied him to a tree.

He tied Yuichi in such a way that even ninjas could not make out of it.

After tying Yuichi, Yukan went to get Matsuura back.

Matsuura had regained his consciousness and was currently breathing from his mouth since nothing was left in his nose.

He almost freed himself from the rope but Yukan appeared before he could escape.

"What do you want from me?" Matsuura asked.

"Nothing. Just come with me." Yukan said and then knocked out Matsuura again. This time he used his hand to slash his neck since he did not want to come in contact with that gross nose.

Yukan carried Matsuura back to the area he had tied Yuichi and tied the knocked-out Matsuura near Yuichi.

'Before anything.' Yukan looked back to Miata's corpse and noticed that it had stopped burning and only his skeleton remained.

'So, it is a fire which burns at a high temperature and also does not affect me. What better could I have?' Yukan thought in his mind and smiled.

The smile gave Yuichi, who had woken up a minute ago, goosebumps.

"Now, time to torture I guess." Yukan said as he looked at Yuichi and Matsuura tied to trees.
