Chapter 43: 42

Yukan went back to Konoha the next day. He had completed his mission though, extracting information from Matsuura took him a lot of time.

Like every ninja coming back from a mission, Yukan had to report about his mission to Hiruzen.

-At the Hokage's office-

"...and so, after that, I killed the Kumo ninjas and patrolled the border for 2 weeks."

"You killed all of them? That's good." Hiruzen said.

"That's all? I am leaving then. Rest for today, come here tomorrow again, I have to talk to you about something." Hiruzen said as he opened a file, picked up a pen and started signing in different places.

Yukan left the office and first went to his house to freshen up and eat something edible.

When he entered his house, he was welcomed by his mother.

"Welcome back, cutie pie." Aayu welcomed Yukan back as she rubbed her hand on Yukan's head.

"Hehe. Mom, how are you?" Yukan asked. He was worried about his mother's health more than anything else.

"I'm well. How about you? You were on a mission, do you have any injuries?" Aayu asked.

"Nah, I am strong. Also, mom, is there something to eat? I wanna eat some proper food." Yukan asked.

"Wait, I'll make an omelette quickly," Aayu said and walked into the kitchen.

Yukan looked at her going in and after she went, Yukan asked the system.

'Is her vitality alright?'

[Yes, although it has reduced a little, she still has a lot]

'Then, I guess I should save the pill for now.' Yukan said in his mind and then went into his room.

In his room, he took a bath and then changed his clothes.

He now wore the red upper Kushina had gifted him on his birthday and after a long time of searching, he found a black lower which looked good with the upper.

Yukan had eaten the omelette and seeing that it was just 1 P.M. he went to take a nap.

Yukan woke up at 5 P.M. and decided to give Kushina a visit.

He got up from his bed, washed his face and set his hair.

On his way to Kushina's house, he stopped at Ichiraku Ramen and took 3 bowls of ramen from there.

At this time, Tsunade was still in Konoha and lived with Kushina.

When Yukan reached Kushina's house and knocked on the door, Tsunade opened it.

She saw the bowls in Yukan's hands and asked," What is that?"

"Ramen," Yukan answered.

Tsunade took a bowl from Yukan.

Tsunade and Yukan were acquaintances, Tsunade had taught Yukan a little about Chakra control upon a request from Sakumo and they also met whenever Yukan visited Kushina.

By now, Kushina had also come to the door. When she saw Yukan, she jumped up and hugged him.

"You're back."

"Yup. Be careful, the ramen is hot." Yukan warned Kushina.

"Oh, you brought ramen? Nice." Kushina said as she took the two remaining bowls from Yukan's hands.

"Alright, come in, kid," Tsunade said as she walked into the other side of the house.

Yukan walked in and went to sit beside Kushina at the dining table.

He saw Kushina eat the ramen and before he could stop her, she ate even the second bowl.

'Well, I guess it has been some time since she ate it.' Yukan thought. Since Kushina went out less, she wasn't able to eat ramen every day.

"So, how are you?" Yukan asked as Kushina cleaned the whole bowl with her finger.

"I'm well. How about you? You were on a mission, do you have any injuries?" Kushina asked.

When Yukan heard this, he blushed a little. He was happy to see someone else worried about him this much other than his mother.

"Of course, I'm fine too."

Kushina and Yukan talked about different things for some time and then it was time for Yukan to head back home.

"It's time for me to go back. I'll leave." Yukan said as he got up to leave.

"Wait a second." Kushina stopped Yukan.

Yukan turned around as he stood up.

As soon as he turned around, Kushina jumped toward Yukan, she lifted her feet off the floor and believed that Yukan would catch her.

Yukan caught her. She curled her arms around Yukan's neck as she kissed him on his lips.

This surprise kiss did Yukan a lot of damage, sending him into a daze again.

As Kushina was about to get down and leave, Yukan held her waist and said," As I told you before, you are stuck with me." (A/N: It happened during their confession. I'll release it soon.)

Yukan lifted Kushina a little as he kissed her.

-The next day, at the Hokage's office-

Yukan stood in front of Hiruzen.

"I want to tell you, the situation is pretty chaotic in the world. To be prepared for anything, I want you to take your two students to do missions now before anything happens so that the chances of talented seedlings dying get reduced." Hiruzen said as he looked at Yukan.

"Every jonin with students is doing so?" Yukan asked.

"Unfortunately, no. Only the genins who have good potential are doing this."

"Alright, I'll start doing the missions in a few days," Yukan said and then left the office.

10 months later      (The flashback is over, Yukan is 17)

In the past 10 months, Danzo's attacks had been continuously targeting the Uzumaki clan and his ROOT even killed some people.

But, just like in the past, Hiruzen let Danzo go.

Yukan had the ability to kill Danzo and the whole ROOT but that would make him an enemy of Konoha, making it impossible for him to live in Konoha anymore.

Yukan had no problem becoming a rogue ninja, but his mother and Kushina loved Konoha and they would not like it, stopping Yukan.

So, with his authority from being a squad captain and from the Hokage's orders, a total of 3 ANBU ninjas always stayed around his mother, protecting her.

For the past 10 months, Yukan had been doing missions with Kakashi and Kozuki, improving their skills.

Kakashi was now 8 and Kozuki was 10. Both of them together were able to take down a jonin if they worked together.

Currently, Yukan sat under the tree as he used a piece of cloth to clean the blood on his sword.

"Another camp is done. This is the 7th bandit camp in just one month. Alright, good work kids, come back after confirming that everyone is dead." Yukan said as he looked over a camp burning.

No response came but, after a moment of silence, Kakashi and Kozuki walked to Yukan.

"All are dead, sensei," Kozuki said.

"Yes, sensei. We confirmed it." Kakashi also said.

Yukan looked at his two students, he had started to find them cute and had started to treat them like little brothers in the previous 10 months.

He put his hands on their head and patted them.

"Excellent. You both have grown a lot." Yukan praised his students.

The three of them started to head back to Konoha and played a match of rock, paper, scissors to decide who will write the report for the mission.
