Chapter 1: CHAPTER 1: AWAKENING

I feel myself floating as I struggle to come back to myself, as if my consciousness is being held in tar. Slowly my thoughts begin to clear up, and like a person coming out of a long sleep, I find it difficult to concentrate on anything. So for a while, I bathe in this floating sensation, and let myself drift like a cloud in the sky wondering where I am and especially who I am.

Suddenly, as if my thoughts were the trigger, my memories suddenly come back to me without any form of warning. And I remember everything. My family, my friends, my work and I also remember how I died.

I was just an ordinary salaried worker and there was nothing glorious about my life. As I left work, as I do every evening, I went for a walk in the park, just to refresh my ideas. But that day, as I was walking around, I saw a man in his thirties start shooting into the crowd with the gun he had in his hand. While trying to turn around to escape, I was shot in my left side.

I don't know how but the moment I was shot, I knew it was the end. Losing my balance, I fall and start losing blood. And slowly I feel my body cooling down as my vision becomes blurrier. Then nothing.

No heroic death or anything like that. In short, a boring ending for a boring life. I sigh inwardly and try to open my eyes. The scene that reveals itself in front of me leaves me speechless. No matter where I look there are only stars that stretch farther and farther as if they have no end.

I feel amazed by all this sea of stars of various colors. It's as if I was mesmerized by this beautiful spectacle of endless colors. Before a sound, similar to that of a phone notification, awakens me from my stupor. And that a light appears in front of me in the form of a kind of translucent screen straight out of a futuristic film.

Immediately a torrent of information poured into my head as I felt it engraved in my very soul. It's a strange feeling but not at all unpleasant even if I feel a little mentally tired because of the amount of information I just assimilated. I feel a little stretched before I magically appear in front of a star and be drawn to it.

I can't do anything about the fear that begins to rise in me as I am about to crash into the star. And even though, thanks to the information I've received, I know it's not going to happen, I can't help but panic.

 

I hit the star and instead of crashing, I cross it and find myself in a black space. I breathe a sigh of relief in my head although technically I'm just a soul without a body so I don't really have a head.

 

It's unbelievable. That is the only word I can say. If I understand correctly, I reincarnated as in the novels I read on earth. And there's this flood of information. It's like I've just read thousands of books at once. That's why I knew nothing was going to happen to me even if I collided with the star. Of course it is one thing to know and it is another to live it. So I panicked.

 

From the information in my head, every star I've seen is a world in its own right and the black space around me is my domain.

When a being reaches a certain rank, a space outside the world is created to accommodate this being. That is his domain. And the stronger the being, the more vast and solid his field is. It is also possible to expand or strengthen and even create a domain artificially but it takes a lot of energy to do.

 

One can enter another domain if and only if, the master of the domain allows it.

And even if it is possible to break into the domain of another by force, it is often a bad idea in addition to being extremely strong. According to my knowledge, a planet whose size is 1, is about the size of the earth. So Selyra is a planet 5 times bigger than the earth. Without dwelling on it further and choosing a city at random. I have to look for someone in need or in danger. I find it hard to imagine a person in full possession of his means agreeing to bind himself to an unknown entity.

I follow my system instinct and look for any sense of danger. I can instinctively feel the people who are inaccessible to me and the excluded from my research.

In a few seconds I perceive dozens of places, near the city, where emanate feelings of danger and one is particularly intense. It is fear of death, despair, anger and other similar emotions. I rush my gaze towards a forest not far from the city and I see a group of 8 humans fighting against a green humanoid of about 3 meters that seems to regenerate no matter what attacks it undergoes. Only 3 people are standing and the other 5 are on the ground, seriously injured.

I observe where the emotion that has brought me here comes from and I see that the source is one of those who are down. He is a young man in his early twenties who has broken hands and a tattered body. And what's weird is the fact that he's still conscious despite his injuries and the pain that goes with it.
