Both Aether and Noelle continued on their journey, completing commissions from the Adventurers guild daily, until one day when they are finished with their run in Liyue, they met Ganyu, one of the people in the Liyue Qixing that helped in the defense against Osial, talking to Lan, an adventurer.
Noelle excused herself, as she lets Aether talk to them. After their conversation is finished, Ganyu took notice of Noelle still waiting.
"Ah, Traveller. Isn't that maid--"
"Yes, she's the one who helped us during the fight against Osial."
"Still, I'm amazed by her prowess back then... To be able to knock down a mountain of a man like those vanguards is an amazing feat."
"I-I'm sure that's nothing too special, Lady Ganyu." Noelle replied.
"Anyways, Noelle, we need to head out to some ruins, there are rumors of Treasure Hoarder activity from what I've gotten from these two."
"Good luck, Traveller, Noelle..."
"Thank you, Lady Ganyu."
'I felt like I've seen her before... But when?' Ganyu asked in her thoughts, before heading back to do her work as secretary of the Qixing.
Aether and Noelle headed over to the ruins in question, to find that there are signs of treasure hoarders. They explored the ruins until they arrived at a huge room, where they see a treasure hoarder kneeling before a familiar statue.
"W...Why is there a Statue of The Seven here? And upsidedown? This is... Sacrilegious..." Noelle asked, fear being evident in her voice.
Then something odd happened. The ruins shook, and the ground begins to glow. The duo quickly fled the ruins, and up one level where they find the Abyss Herald waiting for them.
"Noelle, let me face him."
"Understood, Honorary Knight."
"You value that girl's safety? How noble of you, but in the Abyss, Nobility is sorely overrated."
It was a tough fight, but Aether managed to prevail and cause the Herald to flee. Noelle tried to chase him, but Paimon took her hands and shook her head after Noelle gazed back at her.
They left the ruins to find Dain, and reported their findings. Upon mentioning the upsidedown Statue of The Seven, Noelle perked up.
"Looks like the Maid-Knight's trying to explain. What do you know?"
"I've heard of a tale about the missing Statue of The Seven. Deaconess Barbara once told me about it."
Noelle began to tell about what she knew, and one of them involving rains of fire that happened in Stormterror's Lair, which oddly stopped at one point.
"It's clear that the Abyss Order has something to do with this, right? Paimon's just guessing."
"We're not sure. But in your lines, you mentioned a field tiller. What was it, Noelle?" Aether asked.
"Sorry... About that one, I forgot, Honorary Knight."
They walked away from the ruins, and ran into an ambush by an Abyss mage, leading a group of hilichurls. The group easily defeated them, and they found a talisman within the mage. Following it's trail, they find themselves back in Wolvendom.
"If memory serves me right, deep within Wolvendom is where the legendary wolf, Lupus Boreas dwelled."
"You're right Noelle. In fact, I faced him once in a trial."
"Really?! That's amazing, Honorary Knight!"
"It's nothing special, Noelle! Surely if we have time, we can have him test your skills as well."
"If it's for my training to be a knight, I will gladly accept it."
They then arrived at Boreas' domain, to see three figures. One is a hooded boy wielding a claymore named Razor, and defending Lupus Boreas himself, and the Abyss Herald is standing menacingly in front of them.

The Abyss is trying to corrupt Boreas' mind, just like they did with Stormterror back then.
They defended Boreas with all their might, with both Noelle and Razor dealing most of the physical damage from their heavy weapons. Aether simply uses his Anemo powers to swirl Razor's electro attacks which is enough to repel the Abyss Herald after breaking it's hydro shield.
"Both of you. We thank you." Razor thanked both Aether and Noelle for the defense.
"Are you injured? We arrived a bit too late, it seems."
"You're pink haired, maid girl aren't you? No. You arrived at right time."
Aether asked Boreas about the field tiller, but he doesn't know about it. Both Aether and Noelle then bid their farewells to Razor before meeting Dain again. The search for the field tiller leads them back to the Stormterror's Lair, in which the main tower in the center of the lair has an inactive ruin guard. From within it, they retrieved the field tiller, and Dain suggested to destroy it completely.
Afterwards, Dain told them that they should head back to the ruins where they found that upsidedown Statue of The Seven. And upon getting there, the Abyss Herald awaits.
They fought again, this time with Dain on their side assisting them. The Abyss Herald targets Noelle more often, after noticing that she is able to heal the wounds of her teammates in battle.
However Noelle gracefully dodged his attacks, countering with heavy swings from her claymore, and at one point she did an overhead slash, so strong sends the Herald tumbling to the floor below, before he activates his hydro shield again. Dain took the offensive, disabling the shield, before Aether strikes the herald again.
The herald attempted to flee, but Dain catches him in time, making him struggle in his grasp. However from within the abyssal fog, a figure with a sword strikes, attempting to interfere Dain.
However, inches from him is Noelle, who dashed as quickly as she can to raise her claymore and block the sword's attack.
"You..."
The figure then jumped back, as the Herald is then obliterated in Dain's power.
When the fog dissipated, Aether was the one who is the most shocked at who the figure is. It's his twin that he was looking for this whole time, a girl named Lumine.
"I see that you've brought the daughter of the silver knight as well, Aether."
"Silver... Knight?" Aether looked at Noelle, who is still giving Lumine a stoic look.
Everytime Lumine tries to get closer, Noelle prepares her claymore, not wanting her to harm Aether. However, Lumine does not want to fight them and is simply talking to Aether, that they would definitely be together again in the end of their journey, before slipping back into the Abyssal portal.
Dain followed after her and the portal closes right afterwards. The remaining three, consisting of Paimon, Aether and Noelle then left the ruins.
However, Aether looked down, causing a look of worry to fill Noelle's expression.
"I'm sorry to see what happened as well, Honorary Knight. I... I never thought that the person that the knights are trying to find turns out to be the leader of the Abyss Order..."
"She's not just a person, Noelle. She's my twin sister."
Noelle's eyes widened. She has never seen or heard Aether being this down before. Surely there is something that she could do to lift his spirits up.
Serve him tea? But there aren't any campfires around.
But then she remembered one of the romance novels she once found in the library which she read. She slowly approached Aether and wrapped her arms around his body, in a hug.
Both of them felt warm. Aether then returned the hug, as hot tears flowed out of his eyes.
"Uuh, Paimon doesn't want to ruin your bonding moment, but we should get going."
The both of them jumped up in surprise, before they then backed away from each other after realizing what they have done.
"M-M-My apologies, Honorary Knight! I just thought that... You needed what I think should be comfort!"
"It's alright, Noelle. It did work..." Aether replied with heavy breaths, as Noelle finds it hard to look at him in the eyes.
What lies ahead of their journey, is to head towards Inazuma.
