“Hi Isabelle! It’s so nice to see you again!” I exclaimed happily and hugged her tightly while imagining her death. It was Saturday, two days after Albert promised us the paper plane and just as we agreed upon, we met around fifteen o’clock at the workshop.
“Lucy … did anything happen?” No, not really. Well, except that I killed a few demons I gave the name she carried but otherwise …
“What do you mean?” I asked and tilted my head in curiosity.
“For a second your hug send shivers down my spine …” Stunned, I looked at her for a little while staring into her eyes. She wasn’t frightened, that was for sure … but she was startled.
“That’s probably because I’m such a fearsome girl my wit scares every demon on the whole continent!” I said and laughed it off completely, but I was indeed a bit more wary around her after her comment. She had sensed something from me, which was way more than anyone else could. She wouldn’t be able to figure out using just her feelings that kept plopping up here and there, but I still had to be cautious around her. My acting had to be perfect. And it was.
“Okay … shall we?” She asked in her usual mood. I obviously nodded and let her take the lead towards Albert who was in the workshop, working on something that looked like a long stick with a short handle at the end.
“Hi Albert!” I said enthusiastically as soon as we stood behind him. He was quite scared by our sudden appearance, but caught himself quickly afterwards.
“Stop scaring me like this ... I need your necklace. The subatomic particles don’t stick long to any organic being.” He said while gripping his heart. Shrugging, I pulled my dove necklace over my head and handed it over to him. “Now I just have to rub it over this ionized cloth and … there you go.” He handed me the necklace back immediately after doing what he mentioned. It confused me a bit that the process was this easy but … well, he was the creator of this stuff. He should know how everything worked.
“And here is your paper. Just let your mana flow into it and it will automatically fly towards the necklace. You can even write a message in the bottom left corner.”
“Okay … and are you sure I don’t need to pay you anything?” Isabelle asked unsure and looked down towards the ground. As far as I was aware, her parent weren’t exactly rich, so it might be hard for her to pay Albert for this groundbreaking prototype.
“Oh, Lucy here already introduced me to a bunch of men willing to support me financially. It’s only natural that I repay the favour as much as possible.” Yeah, he certainly shouldn’t have to worry about any money at this point. I could always squeeze the money tap though … which I might do if he wasn’t willing to create whatever I desired.
“I see …” Isabelle said and curtsied deeply. She was truly thankful. It was directed at the wrong person though.
“And now to you, Lucy.” Albert said and directly pointed me towards a wooden stand my size, covered by a simple cloth.
“Isabelle? I don’t want to be rude or anything but … I overheard you had planned to meet your friends?” I asked her and smiled wryly, hoping she would get what I asked her to.
“Oh … eh, yeah. That’s right. If it’s alright, I’ll be off to the park.” She said and curtsied once more. After carefully storing the piece of paper in her magical backpack, she walked away from us with light steps. She surely felt a lot safer all of a sudden.
“Sure thing. Have a lot of fun!” I said and waved in her direction until she exited the room while smiling happily.
“Okay … let me show what I made for you.” He said and strolled over to the covered stand while kicking a screw on the ground away by accident. This place wasn’t the cleanest one, so he didn’t mind the little incident at all and rather focused on the task at hand.
“This may have been one of my hardest creations yet, not because the theory behind it is complex, but rather because my delicacy of feeling is rather … bad.” He explained and pulled the cloth off the stand. Underneath is was a complete school uniform for girls from blazer to skirt. It looked just like any other one, even though it was anything but that.
“Using the uniform you made with rock-lama wool as a base, I added quite a few magical circles into the fabric. Luckily for me the saint started this trend two hundred years ago already, so I could build upon a lot of research. The whole blazer and skirt has a layer of mana dust underneath the paint, so you can charge it up whenever you feel like it. Thanks to this layer, the circles for impact reduction and the barrier activate autonomously. They aren’t that powerful though and will drain all the mana quickly, so beware. Your skirt also has impact resistance and adds its mana to the barrier.” I touched the blazer with my left hand and didn’t feel any difference to the one I wore. As soon as I tried to dig my nails into the fabric though, I felt some kind of resistance blocking me from doing so.
“What about the other stuff I had asked for?” There should have been more to that set, but except the blouse, skirt and blazer I couldn’t find anything around there.
“As I thought, I couldn’t find a way to activate the circles in the shoes except through some very awkward movements which would defeat the purpose of getting away from some evildoer faster … the blouse wasn’t thick enough to add a mana storing layer on it … so I kind of left it.” He explained unhappily. I guess I had overdone it a little with my requests and pushed everything past the realm of possibilities, but I wasn’t exactly sad.
“I guess you couldn’t modify the knee high socks either?” I asked and smiled kindly.
“I tried … but I had to scrap the ideas we had alongside the blouse. Same problem there. I hope that isn’t an issue?” Certainly not. I merely had hoped for that stuff because it could be handy, not because I actually needed it.
“On, no! You already did more than I could hope for in all honesty. My sister can be rest assured now!” I explained happily and took the uniform from the stand and laid everyone oder my right arm.
“What about Isabelle? Does she want one as well?” I really wanted to punch him all of a sudden and thank him for increasing my workload. Sadly, he knew that Isabelle was worried about her own safety and thus, I couldn’t exactly deny his question.
“That would be nice. Can I hand you blazer and stuff in a few days?” I asked while going through my head when I could finish sewing everything as I had to make the groundwork first before he could start.
“Sure thing. Well … eh … see you then?” That was a pretty awkward way to end a conversation … but alright. I had another meeting anyway.
“Yeah … see you and thanks for helping out!” I explained happily and strolled away from him. A few seconds after saying that, he was already back at his work doing … I had no clue.

At least I got out there rather quickly and was greeted by Hannah waiting in the distance.
“Shall we?” She asked and placed a large straw hat on my head.
“We shall!” I exclaimed and smirked at her. Thanks to her incredible skill at finding the shortest route, we quickly arrived back home, went though the hidden hatch in the ground and descended the endless stairwell.
Once again, we were greeted by a bunch of noisy monsters downstairs but also by a raised portcullis and a completely white carriage. Before I entered though, I quickly changed into a white, frilly dress with sliver linings and placed my uniform down onto the ground near the floor where it was still relatively clean.
Freshly dressed like a saint should, I changed into some white balled flats as well and boarded the carriage, not without blowing my nose though.
“Is that how you greet an old friend? Shouldn’t you say it’s nice to see you again? Or … ‘woah, your hair had become so pretty since the last time we saw each other!’ ” I would never say things like that to that damned succubus. Why was she there in the first place? There wasn’t any need for her to come personally.
“Oh I see … you had gotten quite fat recently … and is that a pimple? Are you sure you have been fucked enough?” I really wished Tom and she broke up already. I could easily discard her afterwards …
“… thank you so much for caring about me. But no, I have been fed rather well recently … unlike you grumpy old lady. My sexual life is well balanced but you seem to be a bit stressed?” She asked and closed the door behind Hannah who hopped into the carriage as well.
“If I was, I could ask the principal to help me out.” I said and showed her my sharp teeth in a rather friendly smile.
“I heard he only carried favours with a few boys though … you might pass as one though … flat as you are.” I was already imagining punching her into a pulp as the carriage made a jump forwards and Hannah waved in between us.
“What have I gotten myself into again?” She asked in a tone that made it very clear she wasn’t willing to put up with our behaviour the whole time.
Clearing my throat a little, I calmed down somewhat and focused on the reason for her being where she was.
“What else do you want to tell me?”
“I’m planing to write a book titled ‘How a trap fooled the headmaster’. It’s about a vampire girl who desperately needed a lot of money and wanted to improve her grades but …” I looked at her sternly and Hannah also glared at her. Together, we somehow got across that this journey wouldn’t end well if she continued on. “Alright … we have found four potential reincarnators who don’t study at the royal academy. Three are in the capital city and work as adventurers, one is a musician and tours the surrounding villages. None of them are particularly dangerous though as none of them manifested any strange power yet. They are just way better than they should be. Additionally, we have made out six possible possible reincarnators at the academy as well, but sadly you found them before us.” Well, I was amazing after all. The issue is … I only confirmed five so far with my compass.
“Six?” I asked and realised my left eyebrow a little. Maybe the last person was someone from the upper class as I didn’t have much contact to them …
“Wait, is that … you admit you don’t know all of them?” The white asked in surprise and started to giggle happily. She was truly one of her kind to find it amusing I couldn’t work out what multiple spies at the academy did.
“No, I found seven. I’m just surprised you haven’t found all of them.” I stated dryly and made the giggling stop instantly.
“Oh what? You are good … we found Sofie, Louis, Gregory, Schwarz, Ellie and Albert. Who did we miss?” For fucks sake, Ellie? Really? Out of all people it was her? She was the last one I wanted to be one because we still didn’t get along. If anything, it got a little worse over time. I had to admit though that her defence in magical combat was on point, so maybe I was too quick at writing her off.
“I’m not telling you who the last one is.” I grinned haughtily and looked out of the window towards the dark stone wall. We were already speeding along nicely and as we didn’t have to go that far, my guess was that it luckily wouldn’t take too long.
“You tricked me!” The whore shouted out after a little while in silence.
“No I didn’t. Is there anything else I need to be informed about?”
“The demons in the north are causing a ruckus. They cannot break through though which probably means they either don’t have enough food to sustain their population, or they want to draw attention.” Why … why did they have to do that? Couldn’t they leave us alone?
“A diversion? I don’t see any target they could strike though … elven and human society is way too stable for a surprise attack to have any influence whatsoever.” I concluded and shrugged a bit. Her intel didn’t make me any smarter, except that it meant the king’s attention was largely focused on the north at this point.
