I didn’t even know who was the one more Ill. Albert was a good contender, but mostly because he was groaning and sweating constantly.
Someone had to take care of him the whole time, but I was ailing as well. These headaches came in waves, coming and going as they saw fit, but each time with an intensity worse than the last time.
When they hit, they hit hard. And I hated the gods for doing that to me once more. They couldn’t do anything permanent to my soul, I made absolutely sure of that years ago, but they could still change the tick on my soul, which was probably the reason for all my pain.
I tried to shield everything from outside influence and that worked against Aska but against this many gods, I had no chance at all. I would be hurt by them. But I wouldn’t be changed.
But I still needed to do stuff before I could seclude myself. Groaning quietly and stepping on the glass from one of the many snapped wine glasses, I walked over towards the door and opened it. I left it open behind me and turned to my left right away, mostly because the wore was already there to switch out with me.
“He is fed, don’t fall for his groaning and I filled up a few syringes with my blood. Have a great time.” I said and walked past her, but she seemed ti have something to say.
“When will you be back?” That was honestly a bit hard to tell … but why did she care.
“Huh?” I asked with a rather low and threatening voice.
“I honestly do have other things to do as well.” On one hand, I didn’t care. On the other, he was mine and I kind of had the responsibility to take care of him.
“Ugh … I’ll be back in a few hours.” I mentioned, turned around and walked away from her. As she didn’t voice anything, she seemed rather satisfied by how the conversation went.
Without getting lost at all, I managed to grab a coach driver, told him exactly what I wanted and then stepped into a normal carriage swiftly. This time, I wouldn’t be taking the pitch black one, but rather took a red one as I would take someone with me.
For the first time in a long while, I had gotten out of the noble district. The most pressing issue of this place I noticed directly was the congestion on the main streets. It was full with people buying and selling stuff, carts used to haul and lot of carriages. A bit bored, I closed the curtains and leaned myself against the wall, right as the next headache hit me like a wall. Groaning, I held my head tightly as if that would bring anything.
For minutes without end, I could only grip my head as hundreds and hundreds of cracks, holes and other wounds appeared on my soul. It didn’t got far enough to affect my emotional state, but it was still to a worrying degree.
As the pain lessened, I noticed that we had finally arrived and stood up, a smile already on my face. Taking the blue hat from the other side of the bench, I opened the door and stepped out if it. In front of me laid a simple inn, but it was apparently a rather popular inn for beast men. Hopping out of the carriage in a blue dress, I strolled into the place and looked around.
Even though the inn was largely empty, there were still a few beast men around. I could see a fox man, a bunny girl, a lioness and even someone who almost looked completely like a bear. But my target was obviously the bar lady which was … a pig. Smiling brightly, I sat down on her counter and looked at her friendly.
“Hi, did my letter for Ellie arrive?” I asked nicely.
“It did. Shall I call her?” I nodded happily which she took as an invitation to shout upwards.
“Miss Mouse! You have a visitor!” I was quite startled by the sudden volume, but said nothing and retained my casual aura easily.
“I’m coming!” She said, already on top of the stairs.
“Hi Lucy.” She said and waved happily as she saw me.
“Lucy? What a wonderful name.” The barmaid commented, even though I definitely couldn’t agree less.
“Especially around this time. Take care.” I said, tipped my blue hat and strolled out of the room beside me.
“Have you seen Sofie already? I’m so glad she has such a wonderful patron goddess.” Ellie asked while I opened the carriage for her and she whistled a bit impressed.
“Yeah. She looks a lot prettier, doesn’t she?” The procedure certainly made her skin livelier.
“Her hair is nearly golden!” Ellie exclaimed, touching her own black hair in envy.
“Right, right. What about Schwarz? Is he feeling well?” I asked swiftly.
“He complained about the food there … so yes, I think so.” Well, that was great. At least one of us liked what they usually got. Closing the door behind me as we had both entered, I sat down opposite of her and waited until we got going to tell her a rather spicy bit if information.
“So … did you know the saint herself is going after that demon? And she asked for my sisters help so … I’m kind of going with her.”
“Oh … okay? Wait, you have met her?”
“Just a few seconds though. She does look a lot like me though, so we immediately has something to laugh about.”
“So … how long will you be gone?”
“A month? Maybe a month and a half. We will try to catch that demon on his way back. We do apparently have a way of finding Olivia … but I don’t know how fast we can catch her.”
“That’s … great news.” She said, even though she had certainly hoped for something else. Well, she would get her action that was for sure. But until then, I need them to become actually good at fighting and stand toe to toe with Olivia.
“Hmm? Why don’t you all join the adventurers guild? School is still closed for a month or so until the security has been reworked.” I proposed begging them not to die by some stupid shit I hadn’t foreseen.
“That’s actually a good idea. I think there is some abandoned mine nearby we could use to level.” Yes! That was exactly what I was hoping she would say.
“Great! Oh, I think we are already there?” I asked as we had stopped in front of a rather shabby wooden hut.
Opening the door, I hopped out onto the dusty street first, Ellie right behind me. “We really are there.”

“Okay? And what are we doing here?” She asked a bit confused. I told her I wanted to surprise her, but not what I actually had in mind.
“You’ll see.” I simply said and strolled into the smithy where several men were working with exposed upper bodies, a single dwarf in the middle of them.
“Get out!” He said and glared at me once he noticed us.
“Oh? Don’t be like this?” I said innocently and pulled my hat deep down even though he had already recognised me thanks to my glasses.
“I. Do. Not. Make. Stuff. For. Woman. Hannah ruined that for me.” Really? Thinking it was time to put his conviction to test a second time, I placed my hands on my hips and pursed my lips cutely.
“Please? We are here for a totally normal request.” I said relatively calmly and the dwarf finally lifted his hand, stopping all of the other blacksmiths around us one by one. They quickly left the room, much to the surprise of Ellie, but for me that entirely normal. Some customers just didn’t want their orders to be overheard and I was definitely one of them.
“Really? You? Normal request?” What was wrong with that? I did totally normal things all the time!
“Ellie here needs amour, a short spear and a new shield.” I explained, which did stupefy the dwarf a little.
“… that’s oddly normal.” He said, squinting his eyes in suspicion.
“And I need you to make three mobile ballistas for me. Nothing fancy …” I said and grabbed my chin in thought. They really didn’t have to be anything special though.
“Okay?” And he even seemed to accept that. Which was why I directly went towards the next item on my shopping list.
“And I need magical munition out of mithrill. Well do the enchanting on our own.” I said extremely fast, hoping it would be harder for him to catch this way.
“Normal? How is that normal?” The dwarf asked, having finally found his suspicions to be true.
“I just sad we had a normal request, not that everything was normal.” I explained while smiling meekly.
“Listen Ellie. You better flee from this girl as fast as you can.” The dwarf said, but I already knew from the colours in his eyes that he was indeed interested.
“How mean. Even though we paid you handsomely and you got to work with some amazing material?” I asked and looked around. For the most part, his underlings were working with steel while he had something rather fancy on his anvil.
“… fine. I’m in. But I want to see the final product as well.” He said, which I had no problem accepting. We could need him for some makeshift repairs after all.
“Sure.” I said and strolled over to the nearest stool to take a seat.
“Wait … how do you have so much money?” Ellie asked me completely surprised.
“Don’t worry about that. My sis is more than happy to pay.” I explained wryly and noticed how the dwarf was already walking over to a shelve to get a measure band.
“Okay … but is it really alright for me receive new gear from you?” She asked, still a bit worried. But I honestly didn’t know what else to spent my money on, especially now that I was given a monthly allowance thanks to being queen.
“Totally. You stand far too much in the back currently because you need a little time for your magic. But that leaves Schwarz vulnerable … so its best if you get some amour and orient yourself a bit further to the front. And a spear can help you overcome your coordination problems with your shield … at least that’s what Hannah said.” I said happily and looked at Ellie who started to accept my gift slowly.
“But I don’t want any boob armour.” She said loudly and swiftly while balling her hands into fists.
“Eh?” I merely said, completely out of the blue what she wanted to say. Was that some kind of special armour or did she want her chest to be exposed … I really couldn’t tell.
“What’s that?” The dwarf asked, equally confused as me.
“You know … when they …” Ellie said, pressing the tips of her index fingers against each other. “when they accentuate my breasts.” For a little while, there was only silence in the room as Ellie let her gaze wander to me, and then back towards the dwarf, only to repeat it immediately afterwards.
“You mean make that part round or what?” The dwarf asked, still highly confused by her.
“Yeah … am I weird?” Yeah … she was weird. I had never seen anyone wear such a thing after all … or maybe that was a thing in her world? Whatever.
“I think that creates a weak spot your enemy would more than likely strike.” I explained slowly, not knowing how much she even knew about metal amour.
“Youth these days.” The dwarf said and shook his head in disapproval.
