Simon did not know what to do with what to think of his situation. He was standing outside the first trial building looking at his tamer's license.
Talk about upgrades. He was now at a level where he could actually contribute to fights without having to worry that he was going to die, not that he was going to. Fighting was best left to the war machines that were magically built by nature to do two things, fight and fuck. It was not all sunshine and rainbows though, he never heard of C.M.S.C. but he knew one thing; when your status screen gave you a warning, you listened.
He probably should put more effort into figuring out his new status. Especially now that unlike before, he had to expend to remove his extra bits instead of the other way around and it made him feel a bit like he was wearing a jacket that was slightly too tight.
But something else was occupying his mind a tad more. The anti-climactic nature of his first trial.
He had grown up on all the epic stories of the trials and their accompanying masters and the reality was a bit lackluster. It was not even as though the fight itself would have been bad. He saw what was going on the battlefield as he was shuffled off to his first challenge. The sight had his blood pumping, and he expected the taming challenge to be a throwaway given his many gifts.
To come out not fighting at all due to a technicality written into the rules... was not what he was expecting.
The tamer in him was rejoicing. He just got his first seal with no problem at all. He had entirely skipped the combat and he also got a tier 5* out of the situation. His innate talent was so strong that his power was acknowledged without even having to be tested. He should be happy.
He was not. The challenger in him was left unsatisfied. The only combat he saw up to this point was beatdowns on useless monsters or beings so powerful that even a look in his general direction would be enough to ruin his day. His first real fight was skipped because he was too 'powerful'. He thought the first trial would scratch an itch he was feeling from the moment he left his town. Only for it to be snubbed prematurely.
Thankfully, he had one other option to really get his fangs wet. Dungeon delving. Sure, he would research on what the fuck he was now and what the fuck C.M.S.C was, his father had taught him that much.
He also needed to slow down. His father had told him, "Before you are strong enough to break the world in your palm, lay low and hide your strength. Trust me, it saved my life more than once." Much to his dad's dismay, he was doing anything but.
'Don't worry Dad. Let me beat a dungeon boss. Afterward, I will take a month off. Now; where is the tamer's guild?'
He now was back to where he started. On the street, not knowing where the fuck he was. Except for this time he had a truly giant monster girl next to him, instead of the thoughtful gaze Itsy had, Hiss had a more aggressive stance as her eyes tracked every monster girl that even had a passing glance in his direction.

From her bond though, he could feel her to be very relaxed. Her 'provider' was currently next to her and there were no threats to his person. She was feeling slightly thirsty, but she could wait. She trusted her 'provider' to feed her when it was necessary and currently she was on guard.
This was another unique thing about Hiss. Her thoughts and feelings, primal as it was, were being projected directly into his head. Given how volatile their bond was; this one thing was the only reason he was not panicking, even his dad warned him about warped bonds. The other two things he needed to read up on, but it could wait. Right now, he needed to get to the tamer's guild.
Where was a fairy when you needed one?
As if summoned by the question, Dee popped next to his ear.
"What's wrong? Are you lost again? Do you need my help? Same Deal? Or can we bond?!"
One of Hiss's six arms snapped out and trapped Dee in her palm. It happened so fast that he could even see her arm move only feel the gust of air as it stopped right next to his head. He, however, now got an extremely good view of her smooth flawless obsidian hand, her fingers ending in sharp grey claws tinged with red green dust.
'Danger!!!' came the thought from Hiss as she started to put pressure, trying to crush the tiny monster girl.
"Hiss! She is not a threat!" Simon shouted in a panic.
Shocked. Hiss's palm immediately opened and Dee immediately disappeared in a small burst of green magic.
"Well... There goes our guide..." a sigh escaped his lips.
This day had started so well too...
