For the first time in his life, Simon felt something he had never felt before, a true fear for his life. He looked at the monstrosity in awed horror as it covered 100 meters or so in less than a blink. He could not react, he could not fight back, all he could do was watch as the maw descended on him at superhuman speeds.
He was enraptured by the majesty of it all. So insignificant was he in the face of true power that all he could do was stand there and accept. Both his monster girls simply vanished into their equipment form, they would be of no help and fruitless struggle was just added despair so there he was waiting for the inevitable.
He saw his death fast approaching as row after of razor sharper started to engulf his whole vision. All his illusions and pretenses melted to such a predestined outcome, his gorgeous ebony horns and wings of unholy flame came to the view of the world one final time as his body was consumed by the cosmic monstrosity and then finally twilight...
"He is waking up! For someone that suffered from such a mental attack, the boy is remarkably resilient." a clinical voice was heard but Simon could not figure out why. The last thing he remembered was...
Simon jumped to his feet his heart beating a mile a minute his fiery wings wrapping his body in a form of protection.
"It's ok! You're Ok! You are safe! Breathe! calm down. Breathe. Nobody is going to hurt you." a soft soothing voice reverberated.
Simon could feel his distress leaving his body as higher brain function slowly returned as he sat back down on the now-charged hospital bed.
"Are you ok, little one?"
His eyes turned to one of two people sitting with him in the white room with minimal décor.
"What happened?..."
"The same thing that happens to most rash tamers who act faster than they can reason." came the cold clinical voice that he could now see belonged to a man with radiant silver hair and glowing yellow eyes, two silver lines dividing his eye into four sections. He was in a white regalia trimmed with gold.
"Oh hush, dear! Can you not see the boy has gone through a traumatic experience." said the angel in the room. She like every angel had that perfect symmetrical beauty with every inch of her fitting her form just right, meaning she looked like a close sister to most angels. The unique parts were what caught his attention. Namely the Dyson sphere of halos on her head and the six tiny floating wings on her back. He was in the presence of an archangel.
Before he could say or do anything though the cleric-looking man said in clear disdain.

"He is an infernal. They do not suffer trauma. Leave the little evil incarnate be, he will kill himself soon enough. The holy accords may protect their disgusting kind but I will not suffer the indignity of sullying my state of mind with his disgusting influence any longer than I must."
With that monologue, the man disappeared in a puff of white motes of light.
The glowing yellow dots set in a backdrop of complete black that was the eyes of the tier 7 that stood before him and looked at the boy in sympathy. The look seemed to give him a sense of warmth that nearly made him hitch. Simon prided himself in never getting lost in his emotions but the angel was doing funny things to his frazzled state.
"Do not take his words to heart, little one. He is simply stuck in a war long forgotten to the annals of time. You did not choose your heritage and neither are you responsible for it. What you do with your gifts is more important than where they came from. Rest now, the tamers guild will tend to your needs shortly." Similarly to the man, the angel disappeared in a puff of white motes.
'Intense. Are they not?' said a voice directly into his head.
Simon felt the whiplash in his very soul. The desire to bawl his heart out vanished with the disappearance of the two holy beings and he could hear a visible sigh coming from his lamia. The other two immediately came out and the small room became very cramped with a massive arachne taking up so much space. Whiskers started whimpering while holding on to his medical gown that was too a charred mess and Itsy herself wrapped both in a hug large droplets of tears streaming down her face. Even the drake ling popped trying to fuse into his body trying to convey her distress.
'Master... ok... good... feed... later... please...' came the sad voice of his newest tame.
'Ahh... Yes... I will give you a moment with your tames... I shall be back in an hour.'
'Wait! What happened? I remember getting paralyzed by the giant insect then... nothing.'
'Simple. You have failed your first dungeon dive.'
It finally hit home... He had failed his first ever dive...
