Day 134,

Morning Afternoon thought: That tea was strong.

I was able to see the faintest hint of light through my window by the time I was finally starting to drift off after lying in bed for hours.  I can only imagine the sort of tolerance Antigone must have built up over the years if she thought that was a good idea to offer me at that time of night.  I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt and assuming she just meant to help keep me alert on the walk through the dark back home, but it was a bit like tossing a candle into a bonfire to light it.  Okay, in hindsight maybe not the best analogy, but I’m still tired.

I vaguely recall Lin and Maiko coming  in to check on me out of concern at one point after I didn’t emerge in the morning.  I think I waved them off mumbling something about tea and not being able to sleep.  Talking to them again later it sounds like that was enough to give Lin an inkling of what happened and leave me alone, then Cass came by to retrieve me to go into the Village to handle requests from yesterday and upon hearing the state I was in confirmed what probably happened.

Cass went on to the Village without me after that.  Good on her, living up to the praise I heaped on her all yesterday.

Meanwhile, Lin went back to the Village herself shortly after confirming I wasn’t sick with anything beyond exhaustion from liquid insomnia.  Maiko left shortly thereafter, citing something about yesterday being really nice but needing time alone now.  Not in a way I need be concerned about though.  Or so she said when I asked.

One of them must have found the basket of damp laundry I forgot about yesterday and hung it up.  Not sure who.  I’ll need to figure it out and thank them later.  Hopefully the rain will hold off for a while longer until it finishes drying so I can head back into the Village myself.  Tempted to nap again until then.

Back in the archive.  Cass took care of most of the work that I missed.  Spent the late afternoon/evening taking care of the rest.  Still tired.  Going to try to get a proper night’s sleep so I can function for the kids tomorrow.
