Day 241,
We’ve got the end in sight. Another day and we should finish with the transcription of the text. Might even make progress on tracing the illustrations.
Going to keep this short tonight. Got over-excited about nearing the end and pushed late, working by crystal-light after Iole had gone to bed. Admittedly that was partially to make up for lost time due to the fact that it’s been hard to concentrate on this with yesterday’s revelations so fresh in our minds.
Speaking of which, Maiko went back out at first light to try searching for more ruins. Anything that might give a sign as to where the people here went. She got a few suggestions of potential places from Iole, but the old woman’s a bit fuzzy on exact locations after all these years. Lin went with her, considerably less enthused but not wanting to leave her on her own.
I’m going to need to come back here someday to do a similar search. It’s the sort of thing we could spend months on, if not years.
It’s frustrating at times, having so many things to want to do that it feels you’ll never get to all of them. But then I remember, I really do have all the time in the world here. Or at least, my whole life.
