Chapter 243: Day 242

Day 242,

It’s done!

That took way too long.  Going to take a short break for lunch and we’ll see what we can do about tracing the illustrations.

 

Maybe it’s just because we’re tired of doing this, or maybe it’s because tracing is hard with the thickness of paper that we have available, but we wound up holding the copying of illustrations to a much lower standard than the copying of text.  Also, we’re only bothering with one copy on this go around.  We don’t have the tools to do color either, so we’re just doing a bit of marking inside the blank spots for what color should be there.

All that said, I’m becoming increasingly convinced that this whole thing is a monstrously detailed technical document of some sort.  Either that or something akin to a textbook.  Just hope that if we ever find what it’s detailing we don’t have to rely on the accuracy of these images too much.

Still not sure what it’s documenting though.  Although by the sheer volume I suspect it’s a bunch of related systems and processes rather than all one thing.  Maybe for the mechanisms inside Cloud Tower?

Oh, and since we decided to only do one copy of each image, I sent Cass off to track down Maiko and Lin to let them know I should be done by midday tomorrow.  They just got back a little while ago.  Still need to decide if we’re leaving tomorrow or the next day, but we’re getting things ready to go on short notice either way.  Moon phase has got us a bit nervous regarding our odds of making it back before the next mist night.
