Hyuri's POV

March 17th, 2000 [11:50 PM]

I was in front of the dorm 'C-12'. It was Kazama's dorm. I arrived a bit earlier than we expected, but that didn't matter. Earlier today our plan was leaked.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Kai opened the door. He moved out of the way signaling for me to enter. So I did. Kazama was sitting in a chair.  Kai closed the door behind me.

"You're early, Katsuyo."

"It's better early than late. So what's the plan?"

"We'll just storm the North Domain. We'll bring some backup if needed. We'll go soon."

There was no plan. As expected. We just need to go in and find out why. I hoped we wouldn't have to fight. But if it came to that I would. Arenas are open all hours. So fighting would be no problem.

But among all, I may be the weakest. I got beaten up by Anthony and I lost to Akiro. My losses are above my wins. I can never avenge them in this state.

3rd Person POV

The South Domain was shrouded in darkness. The only thing they could see was the flashlight illuminating the dark hallway as if they were in a horror movie.

Hyuri, Kazama, and Kai made their way through. Kazama led them. They constantly looked around to make sure no one was nearby.

"We're here," Kazama confirmed. "I'll go up ahead. You two stay here and make sure no one is coming."

Kazama walked off. Kai and Hyuri were left with the flashlight. They kept searching for other students.

"I knew you'd show up. It's so predictable"

The two turned around quickly and flashed the light. There stood a boy with two others on his sides. He didn't have a uniform. Instead, he had a dark gray shirt followed by black pants and a black coat. His eyes were a light blue and his hair black. His hair almost covered his eyes.

"You must not know who I am."

They didn't. They just stood there. The boy smirked.

"You two can leave."

The two figures beside him left.

"One of you may know me," He turned his gaze toward Hyuri.

It took a while, but Hyuri remembered. My name is Gabriel. Don't make me laugh mortal!, Hyuri remembered his words.

"Gabriel...," Hyuri muttered.

"You remembered. That's sweet. Well, I'm on your petty little level. So, how about a rematch?"

Those words echoed in his head. "How about a rematch". He wanted to beat him for what he'd done to Aiko. But he didn't know if he could. He didn't have a choice.

"Let's take this outside then," Hyuri told him.

Gabriel grinned. He lifted his hand and they both were teleported out.

"Guess I'll be here by myself," Kai muttered.

Hyuri's POV

The air was cold. The sky was pitch black. The only things I could see were the yellow light above me and Gabriel's light blue eyes illuminating. He unsheathed his sword, a light gray longsword. I conjured my own weapon, a black claymore.

"Come at me," Gabriel said.

I hastily charged at him. The cold air hit my face and body as I ran.

"GROAHHH!!" I screamed as I swung my blade.

As expected he deflected it. But I swung again, and again, and again. Repeatedly swing my sword as if I was fighting for my life. He clashed blades over and over.

GRR... GABRIELLL!!!!

I swung again. This time slashing his torso in a diagonal line. Not even moments after I felt his sword go right through my left thigh. The pain was horrible. But I removed the blade unphased. He kicked me into a post. My back hit the metal hard. I was unable to move, but I still stood up.

GROAAHHH!!!!

I managed to stab him in his chest. Blood spurted all over the blade and my hand. I swung my blade down near his head. He grasped it with his bare hand.

"Well played, mortal."

He flung away my sword and punched me dead center in my chest. I fell and landed on my back. I grabbed my chest as I attempted to regain my breath.

"Is that all, mortal?!"

He pulled the sword out of his body and raised it.

"Any last words, Hyuri Katsuyo?" He asked me.

"...Lightning Resonance: Discharge..."

A stream of electricity shot out of my body hitting Gabriel and sending him flying. He stood up, small amounts of blood dripping from his chest. He stood there smiling... An uncanny tone filled the air. He didn't seem bothered at all.

"You surely are different while in battle, mortal," he said, still grinning.

What had he meant? I was different in battle? It was getting weird. I just stood still, I wanted to hear what he had to say.

"Your normal life is boring, but when you're in a battle fueled by adrenaline. You become more warrior-like. Yes, I have been following you around."

My eyes widened. He's been following me? For how long?

"Ever since the beginning. I've seen it all. Your losses, friendships, and sorrow."

I didn't know how to feel. He's seen it all. But why me? Why me out of everyone in this world?

"Why me? Why me?!"

"You remind me of someone. Your build, hair, face, even your Aura. It piqued my interest."

"Well, then I guess that'll be the last thing you see as a human!!"

I gripped my right wrist, charging Aura around my hand. It felt tingly. I kept trying to conjure the Aura. Soon, my hand began to heat up, slightly sparking. Instead of trying to stop me, Gabriel began to heal. This was my only shot.

The electric sparks got bigger until they covered my entire hand. Light blue sparks surrounded my hand. Gabriel knew his human form would be prone to attacks like these.

"Lightning... Claw."

I let go of my wrist. Lightning Aura surged around my hand. I ran toward Gabriel. My hand was engulfed in electricity. This was it...

I HAD TO WIN!
