Chapter 17: Chapter 17 Meditation is Key but Hunger is Essential

Hello everyone, this is your local vegetarian Luna! I have been living in the forest for over a week now, but I barely got results from my training yet.

 

It was harder than I have expected. It was like, can you control your heart and stop it from beating? Yes, the chaos energy naturally oozes out of me as natural as I was breathing. Though I technically don't need to breathe nor eat.

 

No creatures approached the immediate vicinity of my base, which was deep in the forest. Not to mention, the surrounding plants were starting to change. I was just happy that they didn't transform into something weird.

 

Chaos energy seems to be converted into magic energy when saturated in the atmosphere, so it wasn't as bad as I have expected it first. Basically, the area around me starting to transform into something resembling a sanctuary.

 

"This is much harder to control. Can you please give me any hints as to how to control this?"

 

[Sorry, we administrators that were born of chaos could unconsciously manipulate it by the time we came into existence, so explaining it would be hard. Don't worry about it too much and just take your time to get used to it.]

 

"Won't the area I'm in be change into some weird place, though?"

 

[You don't have to be concerned about that, things like that naturally happen occasionally when a strong monster is born or an invasive species changes their hunting grounds.]

I see, this world seems to be harsh to the weak. Well, that was nature at its finest, I guess. I could at least now grasp the chaos energy leaking out of my body, but controlling it is another different matter.

 

On another note, I could freely control chaos energy that I generate from my chaos manipulation, but the naturally leaking out chaos seems to be a different instance that is not covered by my skill.

 

I will probably get a hit if I continued practicing chaos manipulation, so I would focus my training around that for now. Also, I made more adjustments to my status.

Subordinates under Absolute Dominance would not be able to retaliate against their Master unless allowed by their Master. Subordinates under this skill also would not be able to decline what their Master wishes, even if said orders are to cause their deaths.

 

Without knowing, I got myself a new troublesome title. If I were some strange 14-year-old, I would probably be happy about that title and skill. At the very least, it was not a passive skill.

 

Oh, and in this world, the concept of Levels only exist on skills, and body growth are usually inclined to what skills the person is using. There are skills that could be learned and there are also skills that have been granted at the time of birth.

 

Regarding the status, when one defeats any other being, a portion of that being's energy (Soul, Magic, Physical Power), would be absorbed by those that defeated it evenly when that being died or exterminated. The absorbed energy with then be converted into status based on the skills possessed by the other party.

 

The more biased the skill set is, the more biased the status would be, but that is also not a fixed parameter. There are other circumstances that could change it, but the general growth following the bias from skills was a certain factor.

 

I am currently strolling around a small spring that I decided to turn into my base. I am carrying the communication tool that was sent over by Tiana, and we are currently talking about some random topics.

 

The area transformed into a mystical looking place with plants with sparkling leaves and even weirdly colored grass. According to my Total Extraction, that could also identify materials, these herbs and plants were very rare and could only be found in areas with strong magic power.

 

Since there have been no other animals or monsters in the area, it was quite a soothing place. But well, eating nothing but herbs and fruits have become boring. So, I wish some animals or monsters would come over as meat. Hunting them was out of question by the way because they would run away even if they were not even in my field of view.

 

"I still haven't encountered any animal around here. Can't there be just any animal or monster out there that is dumb enough to not feel this pressure?"

 

[Slimes would probably be one, but they don't seem to be spawning that much around here. I also checked the ecosystem on this area, but it seems to be biased towards spawning creatures that are a bit stronger than average. Because of that kind of ecosystem, Slimes would rarely spawn, and even if they did, they would be killed as soon as they spawned.]

 

"I see, so this place could actually be considered a danger zone, huh. If not for my strange condition, I would probably be in trouble. Not like I couldn't fight back."

 

[Yes, by adventurer ranks, this forest would be a C Rank area, almost close to B Rank, but since monsters rarely went out of the forest because of the weaker magic energy outside.]

 

"So it's mostly monsters that live in this forest?"

 

[Yes, there are some strong animals around, but they were on a smaller population.]

 

"Oh, if there's no other creatures or monsters around, will slimes start spawning in this area too?"

 

[They definitely would. There are many varieties of Slimes in this world, and you might find some of them cute or adorable. All slimes are monsters, but not all of them are hostile. People even use them as helpers in cities to maintain cleanliness.]

 

"Oh, that sounds amusing, I wonder if Slimes would spawn around here soon."

 

[They definitely will, as long as there are concentrations of magic in the surrounding, they would definitely spawn.]

 

"I see, I'm looking forward to finding one."

 

I then continued exploring the area like I usually did every day as I continued with my training.
