Chapter 1: Chap 1 – Goodbye boredom

It's hard to be cool in a world without magic.

I trained for years to be the best, but it was no use; I couldn't be the coolest there is.

The coolest person would be someone who uses magic, like Sid from the book I read or that bald guy in the cape.

But here I am, even after years of training, I could die if a guy shoots me with a gun.

It's not fair! It's not fair at all!

"Hey! Hey you!"

A voice called out behind me as I walked down the street.

I turned around and saw a man wearing a black suit with a white shirt under his coat , holding an umbrella over his head. He looked like some sort of detective.

It was Adam, a friend I had recently made.

He shared my ideals; he was the only one I could talk to.

We thought this world without magic was dull.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry. But seriously, you are different than usual today."

"How so?"

"Well... you know how you always look angry and frustrated?"

"Yeah..."

"Today you seem happy."

"Really?"

I didn't realize until now that I was smiling.

“Let's meet tomorrow morning, okay?"

"Sure."

"Hi Adam, and hello weird boy," a girl said after hugging Adam.

That was Amaterasu, Adam's girlfriend.

Amaterasu is known at school for being extremely jealous. She doesn't let anyone get close to her boyfriend.

She had black hair and red eyes, and he had black hair and blue eyes.

"Say hello to my friend, Amaterasu," said Adam.

"It is not necessary."

I didn't care about Amaterasu's cold attitude because I was already used to it.

"I would like to show you something cool."

"What is it?"

"Come on, follow me."

They kept their books in the room where we went inside their apartment.

There were many shelves filled with books.

Adam began to glow as if he were an angel or a twilight vampire.

The room turned all white, so the whole scene disappeared.

"This is the world you've always dreamed of."

"Wow!"

It was the same as I imagined. There were tall mountains covered in snow, a lake surrounded by trees, and a village built near the water. "This is the world of your dreams, Sorah."

"I have so much to ask you, Adam."

"I know, but first, let's see the world."

"Alright."

We walked through the forest and arrived at a small mountain.

On top of the mountain was a castle.

"Is that a dragon?"

"Yes, a real one."

"Where did it come from?"

"It comes and lives in the ocean."

"Cool."

"Let's go inside."

We climbed the stairs and entered the castle.

Inside was a large hall.

"Sorah, I liked your dream, so I decided to help you."

"As?"

"You will live in this world if I give you powers."

"Really?"

"If you agree, I will grant you some powers."

"What kind of powers?"

"I can't tell you yet, but trust me, they are awesome."

"Okay."

"And there is more."

"More?"

"I'll make you stronger, so you can protect yourself and others."

"Thank you."

"She asked me if she could train you until you were ready because she didn't want you to depend on me and take away her time."

"Thanks."

"Let's start with the transfer of power."

I followed Adam outside and saw him standing next to a tree.

A strange energy began to flow behind me.

It ended, and I was in an empty room where Amaterasu was.

"Let's get started," Amaterasu said.

Then she froze my body.

"I need to make sure you don't disturb my dear."

Amaterasu began Spartan training.

She pushed me to my limit.

But I didn't mind; I just wanted to become stronger.

After several years of training, I was able to use the power Adam gave me.

I could use fire, lightning, wind, and earth magic.

I also learned how to create barriers using earth magic.

Those were the worst years of my life.

I would be dead if Adam hadn't come to visit me and cast healing spells on me.

"You are free to do what you want If you have a problem, don't bother me.”
