Chapter 2: Chap 2 – Sect

After Spartan training, I was thrown into a big house.

In the big house, there was a man who explained to me how this world works.

The man's name is Hyde.

When a person reaches a certain age, he joins a sect. The sect provides food, safety, and education.

The sect is where one will spend most of their life, so you must choose your sect carefully.

If you're lucky enough to be chosen by an excellent sect leader, you'll have no problem. But if you make a mistake in choosing a sect, then you can expect many hardships.

Hyde talked to me about sects at first, so I listened to what he had to say.

"Sects are like families," Hyde told me. "They are made up of people from all walks of life. You get to meet many different types of people here."

Hyde told me that Adam created this house for me to be a sect leader.

He left me everything I needed in the house, like food, weapons, and textbooks.

Even Amaterasu left something, a device for people with no potential, it also said that this device was for useless people like me.

The device was an orb.

To use it, all I had to do was concentrate and choose the person I wanted to give powers to, and he would take care of the rest.

Hyde gave me some instructions on how to operate the machine.

This device would give powers to anyone I wanted, Amaterasu alone gave it to me so I didn't have to ask Adam for advice.

"The first thing you need is a disciple," said Hyde.

Adam had registered my sect as 'To Pio Koul,' but I still didn't have any apprentices.

I decided to go to the city in search of someone.

My first stop was the city market.

There were many people there, buying and selling goods.

I walked around looking for disciples.

There was a little commotion around some young people.

"You petty snake!” shouted a boy.

"Why did you try to poison our guild master?" said a girl nearby.

I asked nearby citizens what was going on.

They told me this girl is known to be mean and talentless.

She will be publicly expelled from the sect.

This is the chance I've been waiting for; not only will I be able to get a disciple, but I can also test out that device, and if I succeed, I'll be a guild master as awesome as the ones in the novels I read.

I need to wait for the right moment to look as cool as possible and make a good impression on her.

I'll do my best to make a good impression when the time comes.

After a while, I saw a group of people surrounding her.

My chance has finally come.

When one of them tried to attack her, I intervened.

A few people looked at me, but none of them knew me.

"Who?"

"The guild master of To Pio Koul, you idiot!"

"I don't know anything about that," replied the girl.

Damn, I forgot my sect is small.

Now I have to think of a way to undo my mistake.

"Hello, I'm the guild master of To Pio Koul; now, listen closely, because I'm going to say this only once: you have to leave the city immediately. Now! Go!"

This line of reasoning worked; they all got scared and ran away.

"Wow, I feel so powerful; I should say this more often."

The girl whom I saved came closer.

"Thank you for saving me."

"No problem, I'm the guild master of To Pio Koul."

"Oh, thank you." That girl is useless; I hope that device works.

I used the device discreetly and to my surprise, it worked better than I expected.

As I thought, she became talented.

So I gave her a book to train with.

After training for a few days, she started to show signs of improvement.

Her movements were smoother, her attacks were faster, and she had higher resistance against physical damage.

While I practiced my lines, she practiced her physique so I wouldn't embarrass myself.

I needed to come up with lines for all occasions.

"Master, I've finished my training," she exclaimed as she rushed up to me.

She finished earlier than expected.

At these times, badass masters give gifts to their disciples.

I bought a sword that was similar to the one she is practicing with.

She practiced with a Japanese sword.

"This is a gift for your training," I said.

"Thank you, Master."

I gave her the weapon.

"You can practice with this too."

"Thank you very much, Master."
