After a certain time, every new sect had to go through an initiation ceremony.
This meeting is very important to me; after all, this is my chance to prove myself.
In this event, I will show everyone how I was able to train a useless disciple.
I can't even imagine what kind of expression they'll make when they see my apprentice's skills.
"Master!"
My eyes opened wide as I heard that voice. It was coming from outside of my room.
She looked at me, waiting for me to guide her.
It's time for me to leave a cool sentence.
After thinking for several seconds, I finally found something good enough: "My disciple, today is the most important day; today you will prove your worth to everyone."
She looked excited and nodded in agreement.
"Don't worry, master! I won't let you down."
Then she walked out with confidence.
The ceremony would take place in the main temple of the city, so the Famous masters would be there.
The ceremony will assess how the new sects are evolving. To do that, every master has to choose one student who will represent his or her sect during these events.
I only have one disciple, so she will be my representative.
She has improved a lot since she started training with me, which is good.
Before training, she was completely useless; now she's even decent. She won't embarrass me too much if things do go wrong.
And they did indeed get worse...
I can only step in and stop them from hurting her.
"Thank you for the opportunity," she said with tears in her eyes.
Although she is not the kindest person, she must have gone through a lot of bad things before we met.
If I hadn't taken care of her, she could have been killed by those monsters.
"Don't think like that; you know you're stronger than anyone here, alright. Just keep moving forward; nothing else matters."
She smiled and nodded. Then she turned around and began walking toward the center of the temple, where the other students had gathered together.
That should calm down her nerves, although she still looks nervous.
That is the biggest lie I've ever told. She has to win, of course.
It may be possible to humiliate the opponent, but I would prefer to reassure her.
So I went to the area where the masters were supposed to meet.
"Greetings, Master Sorah," a man greeted me.
He was responsible for guiding the masters. He also helped us find our seats.
There were many people inside the hall, some sitting on benches while others standing .
Most of them seemed to be old men who didn't seem very happy to participate.
Some of them even gave me evil stares. It is probably because of the disciple I chose; she was not well-liked in the city.
They must be wondering why I took in such a weak and treacherous disciple.
Well, whatever they think doesn't matter; all that does is make me look more powerful.
"Welcome, Master," A sage greeted me.

I nodded in thanks.
"I hope you know what kind of people you are welcoming into your sect."
He was referring to Rosalina.
"I believe everyone deserves a second chance, but I appreciate your warning."
"You might be right, but this time I want you to give them another chance; just don't expect anything from them. They're worthless and dangerous, especially that girl. You need to stay away from her; she'll ruin everything."
"Why?"
"Because she's a traitor."
I already knew that.
But if she betrays me, I will just take back the powers I gave her.
She seems loyal because she hasn't done anything yet.
"Thank you for your advice; I'm sure I'll manage somehow," I replied.
"Good luck," he responded.
Now let's wait until the ceremony begins.
***
A few minutes later, the ceremony started.
First, a couple of priests entered the temple. After they left, the first thing that happened was a small speech by the priestess.
She spoke briefly about the importance of the ceremony. The audience listened quietly.
After listening to her for a while, I felt something strange; it almost felt like someone was staring at me.
When I turn around, I realize that it's true—a young boy is watching me with interest.
His appearance made him stand out among the rest of the crowd. His black hair reached his shoulders, giving him an intimidating appearance.
He had such dark features that no one dared talk back to him.
I decided to ignore him; after all, he wasn't part of the ceremony.
Then the priestess announced that the event itself would start soon, and everyone present moved towards their assigned places.
Once again, I noticed that the same boy was standing next to me.
This time, he stared straight ahead without blinking once. If I knew anything about him, I wouldn't be surprised if his eyes burned holes in the walls.
It was hard to tell whether he was a normal human being or not.
For some reason, I thought of my disciple as the weird one. But this guy... he's different.
"Our ceremony is finally about to begin," said the priest.
All the disciples entered the room.
Among them was my disciple.
She was wearing a dress given to her by the organizers. Her pink hair was tied back. Her blue eyes shined brightly, revealing her confidence.
Her expression was confident and determined. She looked strong enough to kill any enemy that came close. And yet, when I saw her, I realized that she was afraid.
I looked at her confidently to reassure her.
She smiled and bowed her head to show respect.
The priest continued speaking: "Today we will learn about the power of the new sects."
