Chapter 6: Chap 6 – Only he matters

After Rosalina's fight was stopped, she was taken to a room where the ceremony would begin.

The priest who stopped her began to tell her the rules.

The ceremony would be simple: people would take part in a fun battle where they couldn't kill each other.

So that the fight wouldn't be unfair, they would be split up by how strong they were.

The purpose of this type of ceremony is to find out which sects are weak and which are strong. 

If many members of a sect were pitted against veterans, it would be seen as a group with a bright future and would receive a lot of help.

On the other hand, if too many members of a sect were seen as weak, the sect would be seen as worthless and would not receive much investment.

Rosalina was put in with the veterans and made to fight.

For someone who had always been seen as weak, this was something to be proud of. She could finally repay her master's favor by putting her sect among those with the most potential. She could also finally follow her master's advice: "If you enter a battle, enter to win, and win by showing who's boss."

Her opponent was a young man with a scarred face. His clothes were dirty and torn. He had a sword in his right hand and a spear in his left.

His name was Jack.

Jack, unlike Carlos, used a sword that was a better fit for his size.

Carlos's blade was longer, but he was able to handle it well.

"Good luck," Jack said in a kind way.

Rosalina just kept quiet and didn't answer him.

They would fight after the first battle.

Carlos would fight someone from his own sect in the first battle.

Because of his last fight, Carlos' sword was in bad shape.

Fear and a feeling of being helpless were still present.

But Carlos couldn't return to his sect with two losses.

even more so since he lost to the girl who was kicked out of the place.

This time, he needed to make sure everything was perfect.

He had to keep his distance, dodge any attacks, and land a few hits before getting hit back.

He couldn't let his opponent hit his sword, because that would be the end of the fight.

Carlos made sure to avoid getting hit while he was in charge of the fight.

But then, in the middle of all the other people, he saw her—the girl who had put him down—looking at him with disgust and hatred.

He was scared to death by the way she looked at him., and he almost lost the fight because he wasn’t paying attention.

At the very least, she has the power to destroy his hope.

She can crush him easily.

But Carlos had to pay attention to the fight now. If he didn't, he would lose twice, once to his junior and once to the girl who had been kicked out of the sect.

He got ready for another attack.

He got a clear hit on his junior, which was enough to beat him.

After Carlos' fight, it would finally be Rosalina's turn.

When they saw Rosalina, everyone started whispering.

All sects hated her, but it didn't matter as long as her master was there for her.

Rosalina quickly looked over to where sect masters were and made sure this was true. She ignored the insults and only looked for her master until she found him.

She saw her master sitting with a few other people, but he was looking right at her, so she knew he was watching.

That made her feel so happy that she couldn't put it into words.

Her master smiled at her. That smile gave Rosalina strength.

She should win now, but not by any means. Instead, she should show who's in charge, just as her master taught her.

As soon as the bell rang, Rosalina took her sword out of its sheath and went right for the attack.

To please her master, she should show her best attack.

With all eyes on her, she moved forward with her sword raised high above her head.

All eyes were on her as she raised her sword, and they expected to see her fail.

Then, when the moment came, Rosalina swung her sword downward, slicing through the air.

The sound of metal hitting stone echoed throughout the gymnasium. Everyone froze.

Even though she had done something amazing, nobody cheered for her.

But it didn't even matter to her because her master was always there for her.

Everyone booed her, except for her master, who applauded her.
