Chapter 10: Chapter 9. Hell Mode

"Lady Kaya, you should eat more. You missed yesterday's lunch and dinner." Marry worriedly spoke while looking at the group of girls.

He was happy for her cause she finally made some good friends and was even recovering her health gradually however he was still anxious about her health. He doesn't want her to fall sick again and lose the smile that she has nowadays.

"I'm alright." Kaya nonchalantly waved his worries off, slowly eating her breakfast.

Marry wanted to say something more however from the door, Alex entered the room so he had to order some servants to serve him breakfast as well.

"Come join us, captain. The breakfast today was quite delicious." Nami patted the empty chair next to her while eating an apple.

Nodding at her, Alex took his seat and then tasted the food. His eyes brightened up slightly because of the good taste of the food. Giving a thumbs up to butler Marry, he began to eat breakfast.

"Alex~," Nami said with a sweet smile and went behind him. She then put her hands on his shoulders and began to massage them slowly.

Nojiko and Kaya, who were at the dining table, couldn't help but give her a thumbs up. Unlike her, they didn't dare to go and directly do something like this.

"What do you want, Nami?" Alex asked with an amused smile, still eating his food calmly.

"Can we take a day off from training? We are planning to buy clothes for ourselves and see the village." Nami leaned forward and whispered in his ears.

Alex didn't say anything for some time instead he kept eating his food. After making them wait for 5 more minutes, he turned to look at the other two girls. "Do you both want to go shopping?"

The duo of girls quickly nodded at him. They too wanted to wander around the village and buy stuff for themselves.

"You can all go if you want. I won't have any problem with it." Alex smiled lightly and then he once again immersed himself in eating the delicious food.

"Thank you, Alex." Nami happily said before leaning forward and pecking on his cheek. Realizing what she did, she immediately separated herself from him while blushing in embarrassment.

The girls thanked him as well before all of them left the mansion, heading toward the village hurriedly.

After he was done eating breakfast, he went into the garden of the mansion and laid down on a bench before closing his eyes to relax.

The trio of girls finally came back to the mansion in the evening. They were carrying many shopping bags in their hands.

They had spent the entire day buying stuff for themselves and eating the different things that the villagers provided for sale.

Overall, it was quite a fun day for all of them, unlike the usual days where they need to train till they get unconscious.

Entering the mansion, they handed the shopping bags to the servants and went straight into the kitchen, picking up fruits for themselves.

"Where is Alex?" Nojiko asked one of the servants who was lifting the shopping bags to take them to their respective rooms.

"He is in the Garden." The servant replied immediately and then he began to climb up the stairs.

"Let's go and see him." Kaya took a small bite of the apple and then she walked toward the garden, followed by the pair of sisters.

Entering the garden, they instantly found him sleeping on a bench under a giant tree.

"Say Nami, doesn't he look cute right now? Why don't you go and kiss him again?" Kaya whispered in the ear of Nami whose face immediately turned red.

"Why don't you do it, Kaya? I remember a girl who was hugging him in front of everyone." Nojiko immediately came forward to rescue her sister. Her words caused a big impact as now Kaya too began to look at the ground in embarrassment.

"You all seem quite happy today." Alex opened his eyes and stood up from the bench. Stretching his arms slightly, he walked toward them. "Did you buy something for me?" He asked with a small smile.

"I bought something for you, Alex." The girls excitedly spoke at the same time then they all began to glare at each other.

Didn't they say that they forgot to buy something for him? How come they have the stuff to give him? These were the thoughts that were circulating in everyone's head.

Chuckling at the tense atmosphere, he turned to look at his first crew member. "Where is my stuff?" He acted as if it was something that was already his.

Giggling at his way of speaking, she took hold of his hand and began to take him to her room. "It is already in my room, you'll have to come to my room to get it, captain."

The other girls pouted seeing this, they wanted to give him first, alas, their chance was already taken by Nojiko. Though they were not sad because they would become the next people to hand him a gift.

Nami and Kaya narrowed their eyes and looked at each other. Electricity could be seen flickering out of their eyes when they looked at each other's eyes.

"I'm going to give him the gift next, you can give him your gift after me, Kaya," Nami spoke with a small smile and then she turned around to walk inside the mansion.

"Are you dreaming perhaps, Nami? I'll be the second person to hand him the gift." Kaya spoke with a smirk on her face before she began to run toward the mansion.

"Hey!! No cheating!!" Nami shouted angrily and then she too began to run toward the mansion, not wanting to be left behind by her friend.

Inside the room, Nojiko kept searching through the multiple shopping bags and finally found the packet in which she had wrapped her gift.

She quickly brought the packet to Alex and waited eagerly for him to open it. "There weren't many varieties of clothes in this village so I chose the best for you, Alex."

Alex opened the packet slowly and found a plain black shirt. He looked at it for some time. "It's very good. I liked it, Nojiko." Saying that he began to take off the shirt that he was wearing previously and then he wore the new shirt.

"How do I look?" Alex asked her curiously, looking at himself with a small smile.

"You look very good, captain." Nojiko gave him a thumbs up, her cheeks were a little rosy. He wasn't wearing anything under his shirt so she got a full view of his upper body.

Alex nodded at her and then closed the distance between himself and her. Raising her chin with his fingers, he gazed into her eyes and then he pecked on her lips. "Thanks for the gift, Nojiko."

After separating from her, he went out of the room to meet the other two girls who were peeping into the room earlier.

Nojiko on the other hand stood there dumbfounded at the sudden thing that just happened all of a sudden. Soon, a happy smile blossomed on her face while she touched her lips.

Outside of the room, Alex looked at the duo of girls who were looking at the ground, embarrassed about getting caught red-handed. "So where are your gifts?" He asked amusingly, looking at their panicked expression. He could tell that they were nervous now especially after seeing how he thanked Nojiko in the room for her gift.

"M-My gift is in my room." Kaya after some time finally spoke with a trembling tone. She meekly grabbed his hand and then began to walk in the direction of her room, not before giving a victory look to Nami.

Nami stood there stunned before a look of annoyance appeared on her face. "This time, you took the victory; however, next only I will be the winner…" She mumbled under her breath and walked inside her sister's room. It was a hint of hesitation that caused her to lose to that girl, she would make sure not to hesitate any longer.

Kaya searched through her shopping bags and took out a small wooden box. It looked quite ancient as there were some strange patterns on it.

Opening the box, she took out a locket that looked quite ordinary however the sight of it surprised Alex a lot cause he recognised the material used to create it.

"How is it, Alex? I found it in a shop and instantly liked it." Kaya asked with a hopeful expression, handing him the necklace which had a small figure of the letter A attached to it.

"It's beautiful, I liked it very much." Without wasting any time, he instantly wore it with a small smile much to Kaya's relief and happiness.

"Was there more of this kind of locket?" Alex asked curiously since he wanted more if he could get it. Sadly, Kaya shook her head in denial.

The material used to create this locket was sea stone, a very rare and special type of material found in this world. Because of its low quantity, it is usually priced at a very high rate and there was no guarantee that you would find a seller of this material. 

Alex didn't know who was the one who made a necklace out of it; however, in the end, he didn't pay much attention to it. He was quite happy to get something like this as he could use this in a battle if necessary. Though the design of it wasn't bad either so it was a win-win situation for him.

Alex now was planning to head outside however he stopped his movements when he noticed the hopeful expression in Kaya's eyes. Was she expecting something from him? Well, he wasn't the one to say no to certain things.

Chuckling inwardly, he walked forward making her close her eyes hurriedly. Leaning forward, he kissed her lips and put his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to his body.

He kept kissing her for some more seconds before he separated from her. "Thanks for the lovely gift, Kaya." He spoke with a smile and then kissed her forehead before walking out of the room.

Kaya looked at his back with a shocked expression. She clearly remembered that he only pecked on Nojiko's lips for a moment, however the same didn't happen here.

"Is he perhaps interested in me….?" Kaya mumbled in a daze however she instantly shook her head. It wasn't possible otherwise he wouldn't have kissed Nojiko before.

Then this would simply mean that she occupies a special place in his heart even though there were two more women with him. The more she thought about this, the more her heartbeat quickened and her cheeks reddened in shyness.

Her young innocent mind began to form countless scenarios in her mind causing her to giggle occasionally and as well have a nosebleed. Putting her hands on her cheeks, a silly smile appeared on her face. "Ah~ maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to fall in love with captain~~~"

Alex, who was now on his way to Nami's room, was completely unaware of the changes that were rapidly taking place in Kaya. Even if he knew about it, he still wouldn't care and will find the changed Kaya even more interesting.

Entering the room, he saw Nami standing near the bed with a packet in her hands. She handed him the packet and waited patiently for him to open it.

Taking the packing, he took off the packing and looked at the gift. It was a black half-sleeved t-shirt with white horizontal stripes. It looked quite good in his opinion.

He simply thanked her and began to walk outside of the room while putting the t-shirt inside the system storage.

"A-Aren't you forgetting something…?" Nami suddenly spoke, nervously looking at him.

"Forgetting something…?" He mumbled with a thoughtful expression before a realization hit him. Chuckling, he walked back to her and leaned forward to kiss her on the forehead. "Thanks for the gift, Nami."

It is always to play as a forgetful person when it comes to things like this. As for not kissing her on the lips, he had his reasons.

While he walked out of the room, Nami stood there looking at him with a troubled expression. Should she be happy that he didn't take her first kiss as there was no relationship between them or should she be mad that he acted as if he was going to kiss her on the lips? She was sure that he was smiling in amusement when she closed her eyes to prepare herself. "Damn….I got played by him…."

The dinner happened like usual except for the fact that Kaya had started to act quite intimate with Alex. It was quite shocking for the head butler who wasn't expecting something like this so soon.

Nami on the other hand kept glaring at him the entire time the dinner happened. Her sister noticed this and even asked the reason, however, how could Nami tell her about such an embarrassing thing?

Nojiko on the other hand was pretty annoyed by the two other girls. She felt that their stagnated relationship would develop from now on however seeing the look that the other girls were giving her man was quite maddening.

Kaya, the shy girl, was now starting to act like a perfect wife for Alex which made Nojiko grit her teeth in annoyance. She however didn't say anything, instead, she wanted to speak to her sister. However, when she noticed the look that her sister was giving him, she felt a sudden urge to tie those two girls and throw them out of the village.

Though before she could say anything, Alex told everyone to go out with him to a new place where they'll be training from now on.

Outside of the mansion, Alex took the girls with him and flew in the sky. The girls initially thought that they were going somewhere else however they were quite surprised when they kept coming going up in the sky.

After some time, they were finally able to see a large island, flying above them.

"His powers are absurd….." Nami muttered with a dumbfounded expression. Flying a ship was something believable however for him to control such a large island to fly is outrageous.

"I'll have to agree with you, Nami…." Nojiko muttered with an equally shocked expression. His powers were more absurd than hers and Kaya's power.

Kaya simply smiled crazily seeing the large island flying so high in the sky. "As expected of my dear…." She muttered with a smile on her face.

"On this island, there are a lot of beasts and almost every one of them can kill you in some minutes. Even I couldn't conquer the middle area and there is even the top area where the real overlords live." Alex explained with a serious expression, shocking the girls. "From now on, we are going to stay on this island for an entire week. Here, you are not going to train instead you'll learn how to fight and kill otherwise you might fall here."

The girls trembled in fear, looking at the island with widened eyes. How were they supposed to stay here? Didn't he just say that even he couldn't clear the middle area?

Not caring about their thoughts, Alex took his time to talk with every one of them before they depart for the island. He told Kaya and Nojiko about some of the techniques that were used by the original users of these devil fruits in the anime.

As for Nami, he told her about the Moonwalk technique as well. Among these girls, he was sure that Nami could learn Soru and Moonwalk before them. She has been running all of her life and now that she has skills that can make use of that thing, he was sure that she would show very good results.

After that talk with them, he left them on the island and disappeared from their view. Even though he wanted them to grow, however, for now, he would need to watch over them until they could develop some techniques to help themselves on this dangerous island.

During the talk, he noticed strange behaviour of Kaya. He wasn't bothered by it however there was something that he wanted to know. "Is it possible for a devil fruit made angel to fall…?"
