Chapter 15: Chapter 14. Tashigi Betrayed The Crew?

The last three days were quite problematic for both the girls and as well as for Alex. Since the training was necessary, he slowed down the speed of the island and ship even more than before.

This gave him three days to train the girls in two different types of haki. With his mastery over haki and having a manual for teaching haki, it proved quite simple to teach them the basics.

Though the basics were not enough, at least not in his eyes. So he decided to blindfold every one of them and then he let them fight the beasts found in the lower area of the island.

He also told them to stop using their devil fruit powers or any kind of weapon. All they needed was a fist to defeat those beasts and the words of Alex inside their mind so they could trigger their bodies to use armament haki.

Since there were more than 100 beasts to fight them, Alex had to stay with them there to make sure that the girls wouldn't die. It halted his training however he didn't mind it as long as the girls were able to awaken their haki.

The first two days were quite disastrous for the girls as they were getting constantly beaten up by those savage beasts. Some of them were specifically targeting Tashigi as she was the one who had injured many of them in the past. If it was not for Kaya to heal them, they would have been bedridden for some weeks.

On the third day, Nami once again showed her extraordinary talent. She managed to awaken her observation haki. Though it was only a one-time thing after that she didn't show any signs of it.

Tashigi and Kaya managed to awaken their armament haki however like Nami, they couldn't activate it again much to their displeasure.

Kaya was the last person who showed results in armament haki. Though, unlike the other two girls, she can now use it, albeit, only for some seconds as it gets deactivated on its own.

"We have reached our location. Let's head back to the ship." Alex jumped down from the tree and spoke with a small smile.

"Let's go, I want to take a long shower." Nami smiled in happiness and walked toward him.

"I want to take a shower too." Nojiko and Kaya immediately followed her.

"Wait for me…." Tashigi, who was dusting off her clothes, ran toward them as well.

"Yeah, let's take a shower together," Alex spoke with a teasing smile and used his powers to make them fly in the sky before flying toward their ships.

"You can join me if you want, Alex. I won't mind it." Kaya smiled beautifully.

"Y-You can join m-me too….." Nojiko spoke with an embarrassed expression, her entire face turned crimson red.

"Hey, you two. Stop saying such shameless words in front of an innocent girl." Nami angrily shouted at them, pointing her finger toward Tashigi whose entire face was crimson red. She wasn't even looking in front now, all she was looking at was the ground.

The trio laughed out loud after seeing Tashigi's embarrassment. Though the girls stopped talking about it as it seems quite uncomfortable for their newest crew member.

Arriving at the ship, the girls immediately went toward the second floor where the bathroom was located. They all wanted to take a shower very urgently.

Alex on the other hand went to the backside of the ship to pluck some tangerines for himself. He then began to peel them while walking toward the figurehead of the ship.

After half an hour, the girls came out of the ship cabin room, dressed in new clothes. He told them to wait here as he also wanted to take a shower as well.

"Say, do any of you manage to find out how to activate haki?" Kaya curiously asked, looking at her sister-like figures.

"I don't know how to activate it on my own." Nami shook her head with an unhappy expression. She still remembers the feeling when she managed to activate the observation haki; however, after that, she tried to activate it again. Though there were no results.

The other two girls also shook their heads negatively with a depressed expression. They did try to activate it once again however nothing happened.

"Maybe you all need to train your body even more? My body is getting stronger regularly because of my devil fruit however the same can't be said about you all. Your body only gets stronger when you actively try to train it." Kaya said with a thoughtful expression, she believed that it was quite possible.

Hearing those words, the girls fell into deep thoughts. It seemed quite possible however when they thought about Nami, they didn't know whether it was true or not. After all, does the observation haki also need the person to have a strong body?

After some time, Alex came out of the ship cabin, looking all refreshed while wearing the black shirt. "Let's go down and take a look at the first island of the Grandline." Saying that he began to fly the ship down toward the sea where the island was.

After 5 minutes, the ship finally landed outside of the island. The island appeared to have many giant cacti on it. There was a river flowing through it.

"Are you sure that people live here?" Kaya turned to look at Nami and asked with a suspicious gaze.

"How would I know? It's also my first time coming here, you know." Nami replied in an annoyed tone. "What do you think about it, Alex?" She turned to look at her captain and asked in a curious tone.

"There is indeed a town inside of it. Let's go and greet the residents." He spoke with a small smile and used his power to move the ship toward the incoming river.

~~Whisky Peak~~

"I just saw a pirate ship coming toward us." A little kid spoke with an excited smile.

"Oh? A new pirate?" A girl dressed in a nun outfit smiled viciously. "Did you see their ship flag, beans?" She asked curiously.

"I saw it. It was quite popular in newspapers recently." The little kid ran inside the bar before taking out a newspaper with him outside. Opening it fast, he looked through it and found the picture of that pirate flag. "This one. They are coming here."

When the nun saw the bounty posters, her eyes widened in shock; however, she soon calmed down and smiled wickedly. "Hehe, their bounty will be very useful for us. We might even get a promotion for catching them."

The duo laughed out loud and went inside the bar to tell everyone about the plan, they just formed. With some words and promises of rewards, everyone agreed to participate in their scheme to subdue those newbie pirate crew.

After everything was ready, they all headed toward the dock where they saw the incoming pirate ship.

"Hello, everyone. My name is Catherine. I work as a nun here." She introduced herself to the pirate group with an amiable smile on her face. "It's been a long time since the last time someone came here."

Alex and his crew members also introduced themselves. They were initially suspicious of the sudden arrival of so many people however they lowered their guard when they noticed some children among them.

Since it was already evening, one of the residents asked everyone to have a large party for the arrival of these new people on this island. Everyone immediately agreed to that idea and headed toward the bar where the drinks were already prepared.

The party continued until midnight when almost everyone fell asleep due to the amount of liquor they all drank. Even the crew members of Alex were already unconscious right now.

"Should we attack now?" Beans, the little kid asked while playing with a pistol in his hands.

"Yeah, let's go and see those guys." Catherine laughed wickedly and began to walk toward the bar, followed by the little kid.

Though when they entered the bar, they didn't see any one of those pirates, making them very confused and frustrated. They immediately woke up everyone and told them to look for those pirates who have mysteriously disappeared from the bar.

While the entire town was in chaos, the culprits behind it were all standing on the top of a large building with amused smiles on their faces.

"Did they think that we are fools who would get drunk in this unknown place?" Kaya giggled, holding a bottle of sake. Her devil fruit makes it very hard for her to get drunk.

"Who knows?" Alex chuckled slightly however there was a serious look in his eyes. He has covered the entire town by his observation haki yet he couldn't find that person.

"That person that you were looking for, is she here?" Nami suddenly asked, looking at Alex who nodded at her. Nojiko and Kaya frowned, hearing her words.

"Even kids are in their group," Tashigi mumbled with a sad expression on her face. She couldn't imagine what these kids went through to become like this.

Alex looked at her and shook his head. She was still too naive about the true colours of this world. Nonetheless, he doesn't plan to give her a lesson; soon she would see the world from her eyes.

"She is finally here…." His observation haki suddenly picked up 4 new presences, coming toward the town.

He looked at the town and noticed that almost every one of them was present there. "There are 100 alive people in the town right now. After 5 minutes, make sure to decrease that number to 0." Alex suddenly ordered his crew, not even caring about the number of lives he was going to take here.

Every girl except for Tashigi nodded and jumped down from the building, activating their respective powers.

"Y-You are going to kill children as well….?" Tashigi spoke with a frightened expression, looking at the children who were among the crowd. "Y-You are not different from the other pirates in the end, are you?" She mumbled with a furious expression, looking into Alex's emotionless eyes.

"If you pulled out your sword against me, consider yourself dead, Tashigi." He threatened her with a calm look. "Just because I care about your talent, doesn't mean that you are free to pull out your weapon against me at any time. I have a lot of methods to control you however I'm not using any of those methods so consider yourself lucky."

Tashigi took two steps backwards in fear. In her anger, she forgot the most important thing and that was that she was very weak compared to him. In the end, he only took a liking to her talent, not her principles.

"Still, I would give you a chance to protect those children that you want to save." His serious expression instantly changed into an amiable one. "You can go down and fight against the girls to protect those children while they will try their best to kill them." Saying that he turned to look at the battlefield which was almost empty now. "Girls listen up."

Hearing his loud words, everyone stopped fighting and turned to look at the building curiously.

"Tashigi here wants to save these children, however, I want them dead. Still, she is one of us so I have decided to give her a chance." Alex chuckled in amusement, joined by the other girls. "She is gonna save them while you are gonna kill them. Let's see who wins here." Saying that he pushed Tashigi from the building.

"Children, come behind me, I'll protect you." Tashigi seriously spoke while getting in a fighting stance. The girls didn't stop the children from moving behind Tashigi.

"Are you sure about getting against him?" Kaya asked with a calm expression.

"I can't let these children die in front of my eyes, Kaya. It will haunt me for the rest of my life." Tashigi replied in a firm tone, her eyes glancing at every one of them as she didn't want to be hit by a surprise attack.

"I don't want to fight her, you two can attack her," Nami said calmly and put her attention on the other enemies who were still alive. Creating multiple barriers at the same time, she pressed those people inside the barriers, killing them effortlessly.

"Do you think that you can go against the two of us?" Nojiko asked seriously and instantly moved from her location. Since Tashigi wasn't willing to take out her sword, Nojiko didn't want to use her power as well.

Nojiko's fist landed on her stomach, making her fall back in pain. She moved again and this time, she kicked Tashigi back, sending her flying a little far away. 

"I don't want to fight like this, Tashigi. Why are you even going against his orders?" Nojiko asked with a frustrated expression on her face.

"His orders can't be right all the time, Nojiko. You have to remind him that sometimes." Tashigi spoke with a smile, wiping the blood from her lips. She stood once again and stood in front of the children. 

Nojiko shook her head in disappointment and began to walk back toward Nami. "Let her go, Alex. She seems more close to them than us." Nojiko spoke loudly, causing Alex to look at her with an unreadable expression.

Alex kept thinking about it for some moments before he nodded. "You can go with them, Tashigi. That's the only way, I'm going to leave them." He spoke calmly, looking at the children behind Tashigi.

"I-I don't want to leave, I'm only asking you to leave these children." Tashigi immediately denied his words. She doesn't want to leave this crew as there was no other place for her to go.

"W-What are you saying, big sister? Please leave with us otherwise he will kill us." The children behind her began to cry loudly while holding her legs with a fearful expression.

"You can all leave, he won't kill any of you," Tashigi said with a serious expression, pulling back her legs. "Go now otherwise he might change his mind." She reminded them once again however none of them let her go in fear.

As of now, no one was looking in their direction, not even Alex who was calculating the time of their arrival. He wanted to put on a good show for them so they will understand that he is strong, strong enough to help them with their problems.

Tashigi kept telling them to leave, however, none of the children agreed. Though suddenly one of the children took out a pistol from his pockets and pointed it at her back.

"Hey, you can either go with us or die here." Beans whispered with a vicious smile on his face.

"Why? I'm trying to save you so why are you doing this?" Tashigi asked with a confused expression.

"Why? Maybe because we have been like this since we were kids? After all, it's always fun to kill stupid people like you." Beans chuckled in amusement, joined by the other children. "People like you are so naive and that's why they always end up dead by our hands."

"Showing kindness is stupid?" Tashigi asked once again, her confused expression was now replaced with a calm look.

"Kindness? Not everyone deserves it, especially people like us or should I say, children?" Beans mocked her words with an amused smile. He never liked these kind people who were willing to sacrifice themselves to save others. What a stupid thing to do for no reason at all.

"I see….." She mumbled those words to herself and closed her eyes. "Maybe that's why he told me to go so I would be able to see their true colours or perhaps he would have killed me with them since I was no longer a part of his crew….." She kept whispering to herself, gritting her teeth in anger. Anger at herself for being so stupid and kind to people who don't deserve it.

Taking a deep breath, she took out her sword in a swift movement and cut down the head of Beans who was still smiling. With a bloodthirsty smile, she began to cut down every child who tried to run away from her.

"She changed completely after taking out that sword…." Kaya spoke with a shocked expression, looking at the girl who was enjoying killing those children.

"Yeah, she isn't that good girl right now…." Nojiko too was shocked as she never expected that such a simple girl has this kind of side.

Nami didn't say anything, however, there was a happy smile on her face as she looked at the massacre.

After Tashigi was done killing them, she walked toward the building on which Alex was standing. "I apologize for my earlier actions, captain. I wasn't expecting my kindness to get used against myself." She bowed slightly before putting her sword back in the sheath.

"It's okay since you learnt your lesson." Alex didn't think much of it as she chose the right choice. If she had decided to go with those children, he would have taken some drastic actions against her. 

Shaking his head, he controlled the ground using his powers and raised it in the sky. The dead bodies were lifted in the air as well however the bodies soon disappeared as the ground engulfed them inside of it.

This scene was seen by 4 people who had just walked into that area.
