Chapter 29: Chapter 28. On Skypiea

The crew was right now on the ship, some distance away from the Jaya island, waiting for the knock-up stream to start up.

The Jaya island was now his property since it was now flying very high in the sky. He was able to get Mont Blanc Cricket and the Saruyama alliance under him as well.

It wasn't difficult, especially when he told them that he would soon take them to see the City of Gold and the Sky island. They all immediately agreed to his offer and thus became new citizens of his newly created city.

When he came back to the town, the entire streets were filled with dead bodies. He looked for them for some time and finally found them inside a bar where they were killing the Bellamy pirates who were under Warlord Doflamingo.

He initially wondered if this would attract that guy's attention to him however in the end, he didn't think much of it. So what if pays attention to him, he will kill that Warlord as well.

"Say, Alex, why can't we just use your powers to fly toward Sky island?" Nami wanted to head toward Sky island in the least time so that she could start looking for the city of gold.

"It would be more fun if we go by the knock-up stream, Nami." Alex amusingly chuckled at her impatient expression. "And I have told you that there might not be any gold left anymore in the city of gold."

"I just want to look for it so I can be sure…." Nami said with a smile and then walked toward the sofa where the other girls were sitting.

After she was gone, he continued to look in front of him while using his Observation Haki to detect any small movements inside the sea. After some time, he was finally able to notice some strange movements that were happening under the sea.

"It's here, everybody. Get ready for it." He loudly spoke and moved the ship toward the place where the movement was happening. "Nami, cover the ship with a barrier. I don't want my ship to get damaged."

Nami instantly created a barrier and then walked toward him with a curious expression along with the other girls. "Is it going to appear now?" She looked at the sea, trying to see the place from where that stream would come out.

Before Alex could say anything, under the sea, a powerful pressurized water stream came out which shot toward the sky, taking their ship along with it.

Due to the sudden movement, the things on the deck began to move however they were stopped by Robin's devil fruit who instantly created a lot of arms around the ship to stabilize it.

"This is very fun." Kaya cheerfully smiled, looking outside of the barrier. 

"Yeah, you should have seen those birds, they were very terrified seeing a ship flying way higher than them." Nojiko giggled with an amused smile causing everyone to chuckle.

Tashigi was looking upward, trying to catch a glimpse of Sky island where they were soon going to land; however, she couldn't see anything except for some clouds.

After some time, the water stream finally stopped and the ship landed on the sea of clouds. Everyone began to look around themselves with excited expressions.

"So what do we need to do here?" Kaya turned toward Alex and asked. "There should be certain reasons that we came here, right?" She has been with him for a long time and knew that he would never come to a place like this just to find some city of gold.

Hearing her question, everyone turned to look at Alex, waiting for his orders.

Seeing them like this, he couldn't help but chuckle. "Don't worry, there is nothing for you to do here. Just have some fun." Saying that he turned to look at the place where he could sense multiple presences. "Though you can do a small task for me. You just need to inform the residents of this Sky island that I'm willing to give them solid land to live on. All they have to do is just accept me as their Emperor."

"It's boring…." Nami muttered with an unhappy expression. "Some of them might even go against us. After all, not everyone will like your sudden offer, you know." She explained the reason why she considered this boring.

"So you don't want to do this? I was thinking of making you the Empress who looks over the financial situation, alas….." Alex shook his head in disappointment and then turned to look at Tashigi. "What do you think of this task?"

"I'll do it!!" Nami yelled with a desperate expression. "I'll make sure to do it. As for those people who'll go against you, I'll just get rid of them." Nami said in a determined tone, making everyone smile in amusement at the sudden change in her attitude.

Alex glanced at everyone and when he was sure that no one was against the task, he began to speak. "You four would be going on your own as Robin will be with me." 

"Is there a Poneglyph somewhere on this Sky island?" Robin asked curiously, gazing into his eyes.

"Mmm, there is. I'll take you there." He nodded and then walked forward. "We'll be staying here for at least 4 days so enjoy yourself." Saying that he gave a quick kiss to Kaya who happily nodded.

"Let's go, Robin." He grabbed her hand and jumped off the ship, landing on the sea of clouds. Though when he noticed Robin's expression, he quickly lifted her in princes style. "I forgot to tell you that this cloud of sea works like seawater so you'll feel weak if you stand on it."

"Mmm." Robin calmly nodded, adjusting her body slightly in his arms and then put her head on his chest while wrapping her arms around his neck. "Don't drop me, I still need to fulfil my dream."

Chuckling at her words, he began to walk forward, heading straight to the Upper Yard area which was forbidden for everyone except for the so-called God of this Sky island.

While they were heading away, the girls were looking at them with different expressions. Kaya had a thoughtful expression along with Tashigi while Nojiko and Nami had irritated expressions.

"Kaya got a kiss and Robin is in his arms, what about me?" Nojiko whispered with an angry expression. It happened before as well when that princess joined the crew. "I'll have to do something about it otherwise I'll be left behind by everyone….."

Nami on the other hand felt her heart beat increasing at rapid speed because of the sudden anxiety. "What if someone from the crew wishes to have power over the financial part of the Empire? What will happen to my dream? I need to do something about this……"

After walking for half an hour, they finally reached the entrance of the Upper Yard which has solid land, unlike the other Sky islands which were made of clouds.

Robin left his arms and began to look around with a curious expression. "Where is the Poneglyph located on this island?" 

"It's in the middle of the island," Alex replied calmly while searching for the presence of that God. After sensing that guy's presence, he began to fly in the sky along with Robin and headed deep into the island.

On the way, they saw a lot of animals on the island which were very huge compared to the animals that were normally found in the Grand Line.

"I can see a giant beanstalk in the centre covered by a lot of clouds." Robin looked at the beanstalk in amazement as this was the first time she saw something like this. "It is piercing the sky and it feels that there is no end to it."

Alex didn't say anything, instead, he simply increased the speed and then landed on the ground after some time where some clouds were scattered around.

Robin curiously began to touch the giant beanstalk however her eyes soon landed on something that was under it. She could see a path that was leading toward the bottom of the giant beanstalk. "Alex, come and look at this." She tried to move the clouds around it and was able to see the small room under it.

She went inside the room and saw a Poneglyph in the middle of it. She walked in front of it and then began to decipher it slowly. Though when she was done reading it, she couldn't help but shake her head in disappointment.

"What happened?" Alex asked with a puzzled expression. "Is there something wrong with it?" He had very little knowledge of Skypiea arc as he had skipped most of it so he wondered if he brought her to some wrong place.

"The real Poneglyph is located in the Golden Belfry but there is no instruction on how to go there…." She walked out of the room with an angry pout making him smile in amusement.

"You look cute when you pout, you know." Alex chuckled and then used his powers to fly in the sky along with her. "I might fall in love with you if you keep making such expressions in front of me."

Hearing his words, she began to giggle while covering her mouth with her hand. "Nojiko might kill me, you know. She has been waiting for you for a long time."

"I know that too. I'm just waiting for her to make the first move." He casually replied and increased his speed, heading toward the top of the giant beanstalk where that legendary bell was located.

"For that to happen, you'll need to give her a big push," Robin suggested with a small smile.

"How about we get together? I'm sure it would give her more than enough push to make her move." Alex glanced at her from the corner of his eyes, looking at her long slender legs.

Robin shook her head, not knowing what to say about his words. "Why are you so interested me in all of a sudden? I'm sure that you were behaving well when we were on the ship some time ago." She was quite curious about the reason for his sudden change of attitude toward her.

"My feelings for you changed when I held you in princess style," Alex replied with an honest expression. "I don't know if you are aware of it however among the girls that I have ever met, you have the best kind of legs. I like them very much."

Robin could only nod at his confession with a complicated expression. It was the first time that she was getting a compliment for having long slender legs. Though it became troublesome as well since her captain was now actively trying to get in a relationship with her.

In the end, she decided to keep quiet as she didn't understand what to do with this kind of thing. She wasn't against it as she would need to find a partner sooner or later however right now, she felt that things were moving too fast for her.

After some time of flying constantly toward the top, they finally reached the place where an enormous golden bell was located. Landing near it, Alex began to inspect the bell while Robin began to look at the Poneglyph that was near it.

"Hmmm?" He suddenly felt an attack coming toward them. "I'll be heading down for some time to deal with a small bug. I'll make sure to come back in the least time." Saying that he began to fly down toward the place where that person was residing. 

On the way, he saw a lightning attack that was heading toward him. Taking out the sea-stone sword, he cut the attack causing it to fade away. 

Robin glanced at the place where he was standing previously and then turned to look at the Poneglyph once again. She wasn't worried about him getting hurt especially now that she was aware of his strength, at least some of it.
