Chapter 30: Chapter 29. The Second Devil Fruit

After flying down for some time, he finally landed on the clouds where that so-called God was living. There, he saw that so-called God, sitting on a large throne while he was getting fed by his servants.

"You mortal dares to enter this sacred land. You must die for your crimes." Enel loudly said in an arrogant tone and pointed his index finger at Alex which began to produce lightning.

Using a small amount of Conqueror Haki, he knocked out the servants causing Enel to look at him in surprise. Seeing this, Alex disappeared from his place and appeared in front of Enel while swinging it at him.

"You mortal think that you can harm God?" Enel arrogantly spoke and stopped his attack. Since the mortal wanted to die, he was more than willing to let him die by using an iron sword on lightning.

Though unlike what he had expected, the moment that sword connected with his neck, he felt a lot of pain, however, he didn't have the opportunity to do anything as his head was sent flying off some distance away.

[Does the host wish to plunder the corpse of Enel?]

"Plunder." He nodded at the system notification and kicked away the headless body before sitting on the throne.

[Congratulations host for plundering Goro-Goro no mi. It has been stored inside the system storage.]

[Congratulations host for plundering S-rank Observation Haki. Though you would need to eat the Goro-Goro no mi to use it.]

[Congratulations host for plundering B-rank Mechanic skill.]

He happily looked at the notifications that appeared in front of his eyes. "He proved to be quite useful in the end….." Saying that he took out the newest devil fruit from the system storage that he just acquired.

He took a small bite of it and like usual, it tasted shitty. He threw the rest of the fruit and then looked at his right hand which slowly began to turn into lightning, making him smile in amazement.

[Goro-Goro no mi- B]

This was the level at which Enel was using his devil fruit previously. Though in his opinion, it was very low since Enel had eaten the devil fruit 8 years ago.

"If I had this devil fruit for 8 years, I would have reached SS-rank in it." He shook his head slightly and then began to turn his entire body into lightning. "It's a very wonderful feeling, no wonder all of these Logia devil fruit users like to turn into their respective elements while getting attacked by their enemy…"

After playing with his new power for some more time, he decided to do some other important things. Since his Hypnosis skill has reached S-rank, he was now capable of using it on multiple targets in a certain range. Though it would only work successfully if he is changing the same thing in all of their brains.

He first used this on the servants that were around him unconscious. After that, he flew in the sky and headed to a lower place where he sensed multiple presences.

He was able to recognise all of these people as they were the 4 priests and the divine soldiers of Enel. He knocked them out first and then began to use his power to make them loyal to him by changing their loyalty from Enel to himself.

With this done, he flew in the sky and headed toward that enormous Golden Bell. There was nothing more to do in this Upper Yard except for visiting a certain place.

Robin was right now, looking at the bell on which a small message was written. The strange thing was that it was written in the same language as the one found on Poneglyph.

She began to decipher it as well and was very surprised when she read the words that were written on it.

"Gol D Roger….?" When she saw the name of the person who wrote or made someone write it, she couldn't help but look at it in astonishment. "So the Rio Poneglyph that I wish to read is on Laugh Tale…."

While she was lost in her thoughts, Alex landed next to her. "Found something interesting?" He asked curiously since even he wasn't aware of what was written on this Poneglyph.

Hearing his sudden voice, she came back to reality and turned back to look at him. "The Poneglyph was about another ancient weapon, Poseidon. I'm sure you are already aware of it, however, I found another interesting thing." She spoke, a little excited because now, she had a destination to look for to find out about the Void Century.

"Oh? What's the exciting thing that you are talking about?" He asked, staring at the golden bell.

"Gol D Roger had come here in the past and wrote a small message in the same language as the one found in Poneglyph." She replied with a smile. "Could he know how to write this language or did he have someone in his crew that knew this language?"

"Who knows?" Alex casually said and walked forward and stood in front of her very closely. "Anyway, you remember the thing that I told you some days ago about your devil fruit?"

"About my devil fruit?" She murmured and tried to remember the time when he said those words. After thinking about it for some time, she finally remembered. "Did you find a way to remove the standard weakness of my devil fruit?" She stared at him with a stunned expression. "After you remove the weakness, will I be able to swim in seawater or even touch the sea-stone?"

Seeing her hopeful expression, he chuckled in amusement but still nodded in affirmation causing her to smile in happiness.

"Can you do it now? I want to walk in the sea clouds before going back to the Grand Line." She excitedly spoke, holding his hands while gazing into his eyes.

He nodded and then began to use the extraction skill on her body; however, to his surprise, a notification appeared in front of his eyes.

"Something wrong…?" Noticing the constant change in his expressions, Robin couldn't help but worry about it. She is very hopeful about it and if it fails, she'll be unhappy for some days, she was sure of this. 

"I'll have to touch the area around your heart for it to work. Should I do it?" Alex asked with a serious expression, holding back his laugh when he saw her doubtful look.

"Are you trying to take advantage of me, Captain?" Robin narrowed her eyes and gazed into his eyes with a sceptical expression.

"I'll have to do it for it to work. You can simply deny it, you know." He casually responded, not caring about her look.

She kept looking at him for some more time before finally agreeing to his words. "Don't try to do something inappropriate, captain." She reminded him in a threatening tone.

He smiled at her and then put his right hand on her heart, more precisely on her breast. Even though he wanted to move it a little, when he noticed her eyes looking at his hand without even blinking, he dropped that idea.

After 10 minutes passed, he got the notification and pulled his hand back. Robin looked at him with a happy smile and even gave him a thumbs up for not doing anything improper.

Alex didn't comment on it, instead, he took out the devil fruit from the system storage and handed it to her. "If you eat it now, you won't suffer from the standard weakness that comes from it."

Instead of eating it, she began to inspect it first and soon realized something. The devil fruit looked very similar to the one that she had eaten in her childhood.

She tried to use her powers and when she couldn't accomplish anything, she looked at him with a horrified expression. This was just too otherworldly for her as she never heard that something like this was even possible.

She was sure that no one knew how to extract devil fruits while keeping the user alive; however, yet, the guy in front of her knew how to do that. She had so many questions however, in the end, she decided to keep her mouth shut.

"You should head back now. I'll be visiting an important place now." After some time, Alex spoke with a serious expression. "Make sure to tell everyone that God is dead and now they are free to visit this land. There is no more need to continue the war among themselves. Everyone is free now." He explained the things that she needed to tell those inhabitants of this Sky island.

Robin nodded at him before taking a small bite from the devil fruit. She felt like vomiting however she controlled herself and used her powers to form wings on her back which were made of many hands. "Take care of yourself, Alex. We'll be waiting for you." Saying that she flew in the air before heading down toward the place where the other crew members had gone. It felt quite satisfactory now that she could use her powers once again.

He smiled slightly at her words and then walked close to the enormous golden bell. Clenching his fist, he punched the bell causing it to jingle loudly. The jingling sound spread through the entire Sky island causing the inhabitants to look at the Upper Yard with shocked yet happy expressions.

After that, he raised his hand slightly and spread the lightning from his body to the entire Sky island, covering it in a giant web that was invisible to the naked eye.

Soon, different voices began to enter his ears carrying different emotions in them. Not just voices, he was also able to locate every one of their locations.

"This is not enough….." He mumbled with a frown on his face and began to focus more on the electric signals that were passing through the people's bodies.

After some time, the thing that he was trying to do finally worked. He was able to read the thoughts of those people or more precisely he began to read the electrical signals that their brain was formulating.

His devil fruit proficiency which was at B-rank before was now at A-rank which made him smile in satisfaction. It was too easy for him to increase the proficiency of Goro-Goro no mi, especially with the ideas that he had in his mind.

Though right now, he wasn't planning to keep using the devil fruit as he needed to go somewhere else. So, he began to fly down and headed toward a cloud island which had a lot of presence.

Landing on the cloud sea, he saw a lot of people whose legs were tied with a steel chain that was keeping them together. He destroyed the chain and told everyone to head back to their respective homes as now, there was no God anymore who would torment them.

They all laughed in joy and thanked him before they all left the island to meet their loved ones. It was time to announce to everyone that God wasn't anymore. From now on, they don't have to live in fear anymore.

He dismissed all their grateful words and headed deep inside the island. At the centre of the island, he finally saw the giant ark that Enel personally crafted to go to the Moon.

Climbing on the ark, he entered inside the ark and began to inspect it with a curious expression. It contained a throne that was beneath a golden face and a large storage room was in the corner. The gears and generators were quite large. Though they were inside the basement of the ship.

He came out of the ship and then sat on the golden throne while using his lighting power to start the ark.

It was time to get another army for himself.
