Chapter 37: Chapter 36. Status Update

Alex spent an hour looking for Desire in the entire Logue town; however, in the end, he couldn't find her. He even went to look for her in the orphanage in which she used to live. Though the caretaker informed him that she left to become a pirate right after her best friend Bartolomeo left with the Straw hat pirates.

He was a little disappointed after hearing that since he wanted to add her to his crew, but alas, she already left. So he decided to head to the Marine base to meet Smoker, however, that guy wasn't there either.

In the end, Alex went inside a restaurant and had some food along with some liquor. After that, he paid the bill before flying in the sky.

"Hmmm……" He thought about the next destination for some time and finally decided to meet that guy on those bubble islands.

He first pictured a bar in his mind before he created a door in the air and headed inside it, excited to meet the second in command of the legendary pirates who managed to conquer the Grand Line.

The Sabaody Archipelago is, in actuality, a massive mangrove forest in the middle of the ocean made up of 79 separate trees known as Yarukiman Mangrove. The Yarukiman Mangrove trees are the largest mangroves in the world and are strong enough to grow from the bottom of the ocean to the top. Each tree is called a grove and serves as an island on which people live.

Right now on grove 13, a portal suddenly appeared outside of a bar which was called Shakky's Rip-off Bar. Since no one was present outside at the current moment, the portal went unnoticed by everyone except for the owner of the bar who suddenly felt a presence appearing outside.

From the portal, Alex walked out with a small smile and then headed toward the bar. The bar, like usual, was filled with a lot of people who were happily drinking while talking out loud.

"Give me the best drink, you got here.." He ordered loudly and then sat on one of the empty chairs that were near the counter.

The bartender was a relatively slim and tall woman with short black hair. She was Shakky, a very famous woman on the Sabaody for selling liquor at a very high price compared to the other places.

"You arrived quite early compared to the other Supernova, Warlord Alex." She calmly said while taking out a booze bottle from the freezer. She then placed it on the table and looked at him curiously. "You didn't bring your crew mates here?"

Instead of replying, Alex drank a large amount of booze from the bottle before glancing at her. "They still haven't given me a good title? They sure are quite stingy with me." Saying that he drank once again while Shakky chuckled slightly.

"I came here to meet a certain gang on the Grove 44. My crew has gone back to their respective villages to meet their family." After some time, he finally replied to her question. "What about you? Instead of staying in the palace, you are living in such a small bar."

Shakky raised her eyebrow slightly after hearing his words. "Well, I found my partner so I decided to live here as men aren't allowed to enter that place." She spoke in a casual tone, not caring much that he somehow managed to find out about her identity.

"I heard the current Empress is the most beautiful woman in the world." He suddenly spoke, causing her to look at him in confusion. "Do you think that she would fall in love with me if I tried to pursue her? By the way, can you give me some tips and tricks to impress her?"

Shakky kept staring at him for some time with a strange expression, not knowing what to say. This was the first time she heard a question like this. She couldn't help but think about the reaction of that girl which caused her to giggle, surprising the other customers who only see her calm expression most of the time.

"You are quite strange, do you know that, Alex?" After giggling for some time, she finally said with an amused smile. "Do you think some tricks would work on someone who hates every man? I don't think that there was anyone like her in that place since the beginning. She wouldn't even want to catch sight of you let alone speak to you, Alex."

"Well, we can always try, you know," Alex replied with a smile causing her amused smile to widen. "You were a man-hater too at some point, right? I just want to know how your partner managed to make you love him."

"Everyone is different, Alex but I'll give you a small piece of advice. Don't let your lust run wild in front of her, it won't simply turn you into a stone, it will also make her hate you even more." After thinking for some time, she finally answered him to which he simply nodded.

Taking another sip of the booze, he glanced at the other customers and used his Hypnosis skill, making sure that none of them can remember this conversation in the future. "Give me another bottle, I'll leave after finishing that."

She went back and brought another bottle before placing it on the table and then continued to look at him, occasionally talking about general stuff that was happening throughout the Grand Line.

Just like he had said earlier, the moment he finished the second bottle, he stood up from his seat and headed toward the door, not before putting the money on the table.

"Aren't you afraid that these people might spread your words?" Shakky shouted, pointing toward the other customers.

"If they can remember the conversation that occurred between us, let them spread it everywhere." He said with a chuckle and then walked out of the bar, planning to head toward Grove 1.

Shakky was a little confused by his words however she soon realized what he meant after talking with the other customers. "You sure are interesting, Alex……! I want to see what storm are you gonna bring in the New World."

Outside of the bar, Alex created a door in the air while thinking about that Human auction house. Though this time, he made sure that the door would open in the sky as he doesn't want anyone to see his new ability.

The Human Auction House is a place owned by Disco who is one of the subordinates of one of the Warlords of the Sea who resides in the New World.

The auction had already begun and like usual, a lot of people could be seen inside the auction house with excited expressions. Among them, one could even see some World Nobles who were given a special seat that was separated from the rest of the people.

Appearing above the auction house, Alex used his Observation Haki to look for a powerful presence however he didn't find any special presence inside the auction house.

He used his Stealth ability and began to fly above Grove 1, looking for that old man. Though he couldn't find that old man here so he began to head toward the other Groves.

After searching in more than 10 Groves, he finally found the presence of that old man in Grove 21. The same place where Urouge and Killer were going to fight in the anime though they were stopped by Drake.

Now that he found the target, Alex took out a gas-filled bottle and threw it at the old man. Though the old man instantly drew out the sword from his back and cut it down.

"Why would someone wish to attack a helpless old man like me?" The silver-haired old man spoke with an amused chuckle. 

Alex came out of stealth mode and landed on the ground, looking at him with a small smile. "If people like you call yourself helpless, I wonder what should people like us call ourselves?"

"So it's you…..!" Rayleigh glanced at him with a calm expression. "Why do you even want to kill me? You still have a long journey ahead of you so instead of wasting time on me, why don't you explore the Grand Line more?"

Hearing those words, Alex shook his head in disappointment. "Unlike you all, I don't plan to have a grand adventure on this sea. I just wish to become the strongest and have this entire world in my palm." He spoke with a smile on his face, his eyes glowing with endless greed.

"You are not the first person with such a dream, young man. I have come across hundreds of people like you who in the end died tragically." Rayleigh said with a frown on his face. "So why don't you go back and think about your life decisions once again?"

"You talk too much for someone who is going to die very soon. I just hope that you can share this knowledge with your captain in the afterlife." Saying that he took out the sea-stone sword from the system storage and slashed toward him, creating a flying slash however it was easily deflected by Rayleigh.

"Things like this won't work-.....?" Suddenly his complexion began to change and sweat began to form on his forehead. "What did you do…?" Rayleigh asked with an anxious expression and fell to his knees.

"You know, I wasn't expecting you to fall for such a small trick….." Alex mumbled with a disappointed expression. "I guess, you never expected someone to use poison on you or maybe you didn't expect someone to have sick strong poison with them. Well, whatever the reason was, you are gonna die today anyway." Saying that he used the devil's fruit power and send the sword flying at the old man who could only watch it pierce his heart with a helpless expression.

"Plunder." He mentally commanded the system while putting the corpse inside the system storage. "There is still one more use of your body before I could throw it somewhere else."

He wanted to check his status quickly however before that, he began to use Hypnosis skills to erase the memory of everyone who was near this area cause there was no need for people to know that The Dark King had died in his hands.

"Status." With a smile, he commanded the system and began to look through his new status.

He was more than satisfied with his current status. From this point, he had officially entered the rank of those Admirals and sea Emperors. Though there were some people out there on the sea who were better than him in certain fields, he was sure that they would soon become his prey.

Now that he was done with his work here, he decided to meet those two gangs so he could get them under his control. It would allow his organization to grow rapidly in Sabaody.

"Only 1 bottle is left in the system storage now. I'll have to gather the ingredients once again and start creating these poison gas…." This poison gas was very essential to him as it helped him almost on all occasions when he wasn't willing to battle against the enemy. Though he would need to make the poison gas stronger because from now on, he will be facing enemies way more powerful than what he had fought till now.
