Lala was happily playing with the little bird while feeding it some snacks out of the Basket of Food.

Ghel could only gaze into space. Was this a joke? Not only was this little thing in the Unfettered realm, it's race was legendary! The Great Ones which punished a High God as if it was nothing even respected them!

If Mother or Father Bird will find him...he would be vaporized instantly!

"Ghel? Why do you look so pale? Isn't our new companion cute? What is it by the way? Some kind of firebird? I never saw one this tiny!" Lala was on cloud seven. She adored this little bird. It was well behaved and was full of energy.

Ghel sighed and gazed at the bird with reverance. As soon as he became something like a godkin he got this.

"A baby Phoenix, not only any baby phoenix but one of the Godrace Phoenix.

Want to know a fun fact? This little bird is in the Unfettered realm. Its race is even feared and respected by High Gods."

Lala paused when she heard that and looked at the little bird. "Wow! You are so cute and young but already in the Unfeattered Realm! Tehehe, you will have much fun with us!"

Didn't she hear him? Oh he didn't tell her the bad part.

"Lala...you know that there are other worlds, right?" Still playing with the little bird did she just say an absent "Yes, Lunaria told me."

"Good, now. Its race can hardly breed itself so every youngling of them is protected like a treasure. Do you know what those Phoenixes do if they find someone who wants to steal or kill one? They burn their world to ashes. Also when fully grown can their wingspan reach from one world to another. Still fun?"

Lala didn't throw up the little phoenix anymore, making the later chirp some times. More! I want to jump more!

Her loving gaze became one with a hint of dread. "Say little phoenix, I don't presume you could call your parents to pick you up?"

Ghel shook his head, as if it was that simple! The keyword laid on the part about that someone wanted to and not did!

"Forget it Lala, this world is disconnected by the others. I don't think that they will find us soon. And if..I will just tell them who it was that made this happen.." if they even would listen, could he even speak to them? Did they talk the same language?

"So we just babysit him until his parents come, understood." Her gaze with dread did a little shrink but there was still some fear in her eyes.

"Well now that we have...lets call him Calam, because he is a calamity, we can go and plan the next steps. Any input?"

Lala rubbed her chin with one hand and thought. " Shouldn't you try to use fire magic first? Except from going to the Ice continent I just have to take Little 8 for a girls talk."

Ghel nodded. "Good lets make it like this. I will go to the Adventurer Guild to get a quest, maybe help a person in need if its nearby and you go with Little 8 and Calam to eat."

Ghel reached in his bag and took out 7 silver coins. After a moment of thinking were there 12 in his hand. One was a giant, the other a foody. As for the little bird? He did eat almost everything in the basket within some minutes.

"Ohh spendable today? Why, what didn't you tell me?" A glint was seen in Lala's eyes. Womenly intuiton. Ghel could only shudder. There was no way he can tell her about Aurora and that incident!

"Mhhh? You don't have any money, right? Why? You want to beg for food?"

Lala still didn't believe him but just shrugged her shoulders. Calam was put on top of her head and she happily skipped out of the room. One last glance at the interior and she had wicked smile on her face.

Did he think she was dumb? Tztztz but to think he liked them THIS big was a surprise. Once out of the room did she open a bag of her own which had many shining coins in them.

"Puhh luckily he gave me silver coins..I only have gold ones." Ghel would be punching his face if he saw the interior of that bag. There were at least several dozens of gold coins lying around in it!

"Now let's find Little 8! We are going to make this an evening for women only! Ehh..little Cal-Cal, what is your gender? Let big sis see."

The little phoenix trembled and instantly covered its lower part with its wings. Like hell she could! It may not be able to talk but it understood those two! It couldn't accept to be just taken away from its clan but it seemed like those two neither had any ill will or did it with intent.

Ghel in the room was checking his equipment one last time before standing up. He still couldn't believe the fact that he stepped into godhood. Not even a year ago was he just a normal human being with hobbies like reading and looking at girls. Now he had to babysit a Half-God and a ticking timebomb which could delete their very existence.

"Time to see what kind of quest I can do." He only saw some giants he didn't know by name, or number. Big 3 was nowhere to be seen like Big 2 or Little 1 and 4.

Now that he thought about it, where was Bort? Was he still punished by her? It would be in her character to do something like that.

He walked onto the street and gazed around. The street was bustling with people. Some gazed at him but most didn't even aknowledge his existence. They were occupied with other things.

It was the same short march to the guild like before. As it was nightime, were there not many people who were out on the streets. When he reached the guild entrance did he finally take out his token and hang it on the vest.

"Bronze. Well, could be worse."

He opend the door but the atmosphere seemed..heavy? Like the silence before a storm. He overheard a group of adventurer talk with a frown.

"Did you hear? They still haven't found the reason for the earthquake. Some Diviners even died to see the cause!

I tell you that is a baaad sign. The whole continent shock!" A man with leather armor was hanging on his beverage like it was doomsday for him.

A mage beside him shook his head. "That's not even all. I heard that several Mountain Realm Beast are running amok in their territory. The worst thing is that that legendary Uktena has now nested in the Fanfan Mountains. Its the shortest route to transport goods from the Southern States to the Northern Empire."

Ghel didn't listen to them anymore. He could guess that both things may, certainly, have to do something with him. The Uktena was self explanairy. As for the earthquake? How hard did that Devil hit him?! No wonder he was almost dead!

No he probably was dead. How strong were hydras if he regenerated such a hit though?

He walked to the board with papers clipped on it but was hurt when he saw the different quests. There were many escort, scout and hunting missions. The sad part was that for his rank there were only four. None of them were even close to something he expected.

-Missing Cat, 25 Bronze Coins

- Sweeping the Guildhall, 10 Bronze Coins

- 15 Stalks of Emery, 200 Bronze Coins + Exchange rate for every stalk

- Living target for Fire Magic practice, 1 Silver Coin

"This is rather unexpected." It wasn't like he thought he could just accept a quest to slay some Mountain Realm beast but what was this? The first three were somewhat alright but the last one?

Who in their right mind would want to..ok this job it is.

He took of the paper and walked towards the girl, Martha, he scared last time. Her gaze was already on him since he walked in. He still could hear her words in her mind, even though she never said it.

Disgusting Pervert.

"Ehm..hello. We meet again, I would like to take this request." Martha didn't look at the paper and just stared at him like a cat on alert.

..

Ghel gazed back and suddenly thought of something. Pointing at the token on his vest he said almost proudly. "See, I'm an adventuer, maybe bronze but still one. Just give me the details and I will be gone.."

Martha still didn't move, only after some seconds did she glance at the token and her eyes widend.

"I didn't think that..weird taste." These were the only words he heard. Why did every person he met be such a pain in the ass? He never did something bad to anyone!

She stood up and rummaged in a drawer behind her before taking out a form.

"Token." One short word. As if every word to him would hurt her very soul. Ghel trembled while temoving it from his vest and putting it on the counter.

When he saw her push the form on the token, instead of the token on the form, did he begin to rage inside. What a judging and unfriendly person! He wasn't toxic!

With a dead face did she rome a layer of the form and put it under her desk.

"Take, all written on." Some veins already popped on Ghel's face. It was decided! He would only go to her to take quests and ask questions as long as they were here!

With a cold hmpf did he turn around and read the form. Making him frown.

"Yoo, we meet again pervert. You got your token? Seems like Guildmaster was nice to you. That's rare!"

He knew that voice, it was the gentle but strict looking uncle.

"Should I go tell her that her Vice-Guildmaster did badmouth her?" Ghel knew who he was. Now that his eyes lay on the token did he see a symbol which he was all to familiar with.

Lauro froze for a second before waving his arms. " Brother brother! You can't joke about such things! Let's start from new. I'm Lauro, Vice Guildmaster of this guildbranch and a Diamond rank."

A hand eas stretched out to him, Ghel shook his head and got a grip on it.

"Name is Ghel..bronze rank." Lauro didn't answer but his face got paler by the second. Making Ghel realize his mistake and letting go of the hand. Lauro looked at his swollen hand and trembled.

"Wow. That's one iron grip here. By the way, Ghel, did you..have a growth spurt?" Martha didn't but this Lauro before him did see that he had an unnatural growth.

"It's in the family." The answer almost screamed none of your bussiness. Lauro could only shrugg his shoulders in return.

"So what did you get for your first quest? Gonna sweep the floor here or go get some stalks of Emery?"

Ghel didn't know how to answer and just showed him the form, making the Vice-Guildmaster frown.

"You sure about this? The employer isn't exactly known to hold back..you have a strong body but to be hit by fire magic will leave scars."

"Ohh you know this." He gazed at the form, the name was one mouthful. "Papaeparatus Takatatopeles the third?" Whoever gave him the name was almost as bad as the creator of his skill.

"Sure. Anyone you ask about him could answer you. He was a noble from the former kingdom of Tataka. You know, before the Emperor of the North rose to power. He has a weird obsession with fire magic. I don't know why though. Just to be clear. He is a good person but his obsession lead to many people complaining about him."

Ghel knew his history. The kingdom of Tataka was a former ruler of these parts. They didn't want to bend their knees so the Emperor just made a short process with them. He didn't expect a noble from that kingdom to be still alive.

"Thanks for the heads up. If its like this it won't be a problem to go and meet him now. See you later Vice-Guildmaster."

Ghel put the form in his bag, the token on his vest and left the guild. Lauro shrugged his shoulders once again and left towards the upper floor.

...

..

"It really was easy to find. That isn't obsession though, more like fanaticsm. What the hell does the guy want to do?" The house which he stood before was the only house in a radius of more than a hundred meters. Most parts of it were patched up and it seemed like it would almost crumble down.

Knock knock

...

Knock knock

..

Knock "Bastard! I am not de-" a bang rang from inside making the house shudder and some debris fall down. An anguished cry was heard.

"Stupid people! Go and die for me! Who dares to annoy me at this hour?!?"

The door swung open and an old man with white, now burned black, hair and beard came out.

"What do you want?! I will turn you into crisp if its not important! Did that bastard of Citylord send you? Tell him I'm not one to helps kidna- eh? Why do you seem like the person he wants to kidnapp?" Wow, what an eccentric person.

Ghel overlooked the part where he was screamed and threatend at and only was interested in one part.

"Ohh? Why would the citylord want to kidnapp me? I can already guess but why not talk inside?"

Papaepa...lets call him Pap for now wanted to shut the door but a hand grabbed his, which was trying to close it, making Pap shiver from pain.

"Na na old man, you know. I'm here for your request from the guild. Now the things have changed though. Tell me, why does the Citylord have the aspiration to die prematurly?"
