Chapter 12: CH 12

They finally arrived in B City when the scorching sun overhead had become a starry sky. 

Shen Yixiao initially wanted to pick up Shen Jiangling, but unfortunately, he had a night scene and could not leave, so he sent his assistant to pick him up.

When they left the vehicle, the assistant was frightened by the appearance of the snow wolf that was half a human tall while just squatting. 

Shen Jiangling rubbed the snow wolf’s head and said with a smile, “Xiaosi is very well-behaved and won’t bite. Right, Xiaosi?” 

The snow wolf glanced at the assistant and exhaled two puffs of hot air from its nose. 

Tch, coward. 

The assistant felt that he must be imagining things, otherwise, how could he see a mocking expression on the dog’s face? 

It must be because this dog looked too much like a husky!

“Plus, Xiaosi has a leash on its body, and the bodyguard brothers are watching and won’t let Xiaosi hurt people.” Shen Jiangling added because he also knew that his own words weren’t convincing.  

Only then did the assistant notice the two black-clad and incredibly cool-looking bodyguards standing behind Shen Jiangling.

They rode the VIP elevator to the presidential suite on the top floor.

It gave people a feeling of traveling through time and space. 

Shen Yixiao’s assistant was a sociable and quick-witted person. When he knew that Shen Jiangling was visiting, he had done his homework in advance. As they walked along the streets, he introduced everything to them. Shen Jiangling listened with relish, and the snow wolf also found it fascinating. 

The snow wolf walked beside Shen Jiangling the whole way, helping him block the people passing by.

Shen Jiangling saw someone selling candied hawthorns and other snacks along the street and bought some to try.

When they arrived at the production site, Shen Yixia was discussing the next scene with the director. 

The assistant wanted to go over to notify him, but Shen Jiangling stopped him and shook his head. 

You can greet whenever, there’s no need to be in a hurry. 

The assistant smiled and wanted to take Shen Jiangling to Shen Yixiao’s lounge. 

But Shen Jiangling was very interested in the filming process and wanted to stay to watch. 

The assistant scratched his head, then ran away and brought back a heater and small bench to let Shen Jiangling sit.

Someone saw the new face next to the assistant and asked out of curiosity, “Brother Li, who is this? Is he a new artist recruited by your company? He looks quite good.”

“Hello, my name is Jiangling. I’m a new assistant that came here to intern.” Shen Jiangling said naturally without waiting for the assistant’s introduction. 

He didn’t want to be treated with flattery and praise for being Shen Yixiao’s brother, so he used an assistant’s identity. 

“My name is Zhao Wu, and I’m a crew member here.” Zhao Wu smiled and shook hands with Shen Jiangling.

Therefore, he took the assistant out to find a milk tea shop, ordered hot drinks according to the number of people on the crew, and requested the milk tea shop to deliver them.

The milk tea shop was swift. They went back to the crew and only waited for a bit before it was sent over. Shen Jiangling and the assistant sent them to the costumes, props, and crew members one by one and received a lot of thanks. 

But not everyone had kind intentions. 

A young man who helped with moving the set held the milk tea, inserted a straw into it, and said in a sour voice, “……Really know how to buy people’s hearts. Isn’t it just a cup of milk tea? It isn’t even worth a lot of money and still want people to feel grateful.” 

“If you don’t want to drink it, give it to me ah! I like it!” When the person next to him heard it, he was immediately unhappy. He snatched the milk tea in the young man’s hand, “Movie Emperor Shen’s willingness to buy us milk tea is out of kindness, and if he doesn’t, he isn’t obligated to. Shen Jiangling didn’t know that his act of sending milk tea had caused a minor disturbance. He hugged his own milk tea and withdrew back to the heater. He glanced at the snow wolf squatting beside him, “Xiaosi, are you cold?”

The snow wolf faintly tilted his head and looked at him. 

Shen Jiangling was killed by the cuteness of the snow wolf’s head tilt.

Their family’s Xiaosi was too cute!

“Xiaosi, come here.” Shen Jiangling beckoned, his eyebrows curved. 

The snow wolf shifted over a bit and was wrapped in a warm blanket.

“Now we won’t be cold anymore.” Shen Jiangling said while beaming.

One person and one wolf snuggled together as if they were separated from the bustling environment around them, forming a small world of their own. 

Shen Jiangling raised his head, looked toward the place where countless cameras were aimed, and saw Shen Yixiao wearing a dark blue ancient costume. He had a serious face and listened to his trusted aide report the movements of the crown prince and other princes while asking a question from time to time. 

He took a sip of his milk tea and felt that Shen Yixiao was born for filming. The way he calmly exuded pressure without any anger was light-years away from how he usually was, looking particularly intimidating.

The crown prince thought he was safe during these crises, but as a result, someone snitched on him, and the dragon robes given by his subordinates as tributes were found in his residence. When the emperor learned of this, he was furious and put the prince in the heavenly prison. 

In the end, the fifth prince, played by Shen Yixiao, ascended the throne. 

After he sat on the dragon chair, he recalled what happened in the past, and only then did everyone learn that the downfall of all the other princes was a part of his scheme.
