Chapter 7: Part 7 – Settling In

"Omg, looks so good! I am going to dig in!!!" Yinghao exclaims shamelessly as he starts eating.

Both Zexi and I shake our heads at him. Zexi settles in on the chair beside mine at our round dining table. I hand him a pair of chopsticks and he thanks me with a peck on the cheek.

"The food does look amazing."  Zexi compliments me as I pick up a piece of sweet and sour fish to place in his bowl.

"I learned a few more recipes online. I also enrolled myself in a cooking and baking class next month at the centre. I saw the advertisement and I used that card you gave me…" I always feel a little guilty for using Zexi's money.

At my tone, Zexi quickly shakes his head. "I told you. It is now your money too. I make enough to support us both. In the future, when you are more settled and want to find a job, you can support me too." 

He smiles at me and I smile back, loving his support.

It has been 2 months since I arrived in Zexi's world. And I love it here. The technology, the beautiful city, the culture… It is all so advanced. It did take me some time to get used to things. For example, I had to cut off my hair because it is not normal for men in Zexi's world to have extremely long hair. Yinghao helped me to cut it into what he terms as stylish. It is not too short, like Zexi's, and it reaches my neck. It felt weird at first but when Zexi started saying I look handsome and dragged me to bed, I started to like it.

Zexi took a week off from work to show me around. He brought me shopping for new clothes and essentials. I really felt bad for using Zexi's money but he told me that since he has been single all along, other than sending money to his parents, he doesn't really spend much. He said he was more than happy to pamper me. I did go a little overboard by buying some new things for the house too when Zexi brought me to a place called a "furniture store". I felt the decorations in his house were a little too sparse. Zexi kept beaming and he said his house is more cosy now. 

I did get frustrated too while I was trying to fit in. Especially the language. Zexi taught me some slangs that his people used but it took me time to understand. Also, as I was still unfamiliar with the city, Zexi and Yinghao had to drive me everywhere I wanted to go. When Zexi went back to work,  I felt a little lonely and bored at home for the first 2 days alone in the house. It is a vast difference from when I was an Emperor. From ruling a country to doing nothing but watching television, I felt a little bitter and neglected.

We had our first fight and when we finally calmed down, then, something Zexi said was called "make-up sex". While I hate fighting, I have to admit the sex after that was amazing.

So, to help my loneliness and boredom, Zexi bought me a laptop and taught me to surf the internet. It is an incredible technology! I could find anything just by keying words. To make myself feel useful, I decided to start learning how to cook. Zexi always bought these takeaways for our lunch and dinner which I felt wasn't so healthy. Zexi taught me to search for recipes and videos. 

Zexi also taught me how to travel from our place to a nearby library and supermarket where I can buy groceries. I started to cook for Zexi everyday and also learnt to take care of the house. I felt more useful to Zexi and I like taking care of him and the place we live together. It is less stressful than being an Emperor yet not too idle. Sometimes while I am scrubbing the floor, I laugh to myself thinking how my past subjects would feel looking at me now.  But I wasn't ashamed. I chose this life with Zexi. 

Yinghao, who comes over for free meals a few times a week, says I am like a little housewife. Once I understood the term, I liked it. I am Zexi's little housewife. 

After dinner, Yinghao helps to wash up while I cut some fruits. After hanging out until almost 10pm, Yinghao finally leaves and Zexi wraps his arms around me to pull me into a hug.

"Finally he is gone. I love him but I was missing you so much today." He rubs his nose against my cheek, making me giggle softly.

"I missed you too. And tomorrow is the weekend, we can spend it all day together." I look forward to weekends now because Zexi doesn't have to work. He would bring me out to different places. 

"Mmm. I was thinking of bringing you to the museum. They have a new exhibition on ancient history… I thought you might be interested."

"That does sound nice." I smile. 

"But for tonight… How about we take a shower together?" Zexi grins. 

"I would never say no to that." I tip top slightly so that I can lick his lip teasingly. 

Zexi's eyes turn dark instantly and I giggle as he lifts me up his arms to carry me into the shower.

Yes, I do not regret coming to this world at all.

Fang Zexi

"Here you go." I set the lunchbox down on Yinghao's desk.

"Yes! Help me thank Li Wen for this, again." Yinghao beams happily. Because Xiao Wen dotes on this guy too, he prepares for him a lunchbox everyday, just as he does for me. 

Thankfully, because he is my best friend and I know Xiao Wen regards him like a brother, I did not get jealous.

"Ahhh is chicken karaage today. Damn your wife can cook." Yinghao is excited as he peeks into the lunchbox. At his words, the rest of my colleagues look at me enviously but I ignore them. As Engineers, it is hard to be in a relationship so everyone is envious I am in one now, even if it is with a guy. They all know thanks to Yinghao's blabbing. But I am proud of Xiao Wen so I am fine.

I roll my eyes at him and start working. I am opening up my drawings when Yinghao rolls over on his chair. "Anyway, Xiao Pang texted me."

"Xiao Pang? Who the hell is that?" I raise a brow.

"That fatty from university. You know? The one who always handed in his assignments like 1 second before the deadline."

"Oh." I vaguely remember such a person. Other than Yinghao, I have never really kept in touch with people from my university. There is a group on WeChat but I don't really check it or post in it.

"Xiao Pang says he is hosting a reunion this Friday night for whoever can make it. He posted it in the group too. He is booking a private room at that very expensive restaurant in Y Hotel. He got a promotion so he says it is his treat. Wanna go?" Yinghao nudges my arm.

"Nah." I am not interested. I would rather spend my Friday night curled up on the couch with Xiao Wen and watching a movie. Xiao Wen is fascinated with movies and we watch a different one each week.

"Come on. We have not really hung out since Xiao Wen came along. Why don't you bring him too? Let him meet some of our old friends. Maybe he will have fun." Yinghao suggests.

I glance to see Yinghao pouting at me. I sigh. "I will ask him. I will go if he wants to go along." I do not like leaving Xiao Wen home alone.

"Yes!! Let me know and I will reply Xiao Pang."

"How do I look?" 

Xiao Wen tucks a strand of his hair behind his ear nervously. After I told him about the gathering, he was interested in going to meet more people. I knew my university friends were probably harmless so I decided to come but… now I am regretting it a little.

Because Xiao Wen looks damn handsome. Even in an all black ensemble, black dress shirt and trousers, paired with black sneakers. The dark color made his fair skin tone stand out more, along with his looks and new hair.. he looks so damn fuckable. Modern look really suits my Xiao Wen well. Great, now I am hard.

"You look amazing, baby." I assure him as I hand my car key to the valet. The hard cock outlining the front of my pants is proof. I adjust my jacket a little so that it covers my obvious hard-on.

Xiao Wen smiles at me, not noticing my discomfort. "I am just nervous about meeting other people that you know."

I reach out to hold his hand. "Don't worry, they are nice and I will stay by you." 

We enter the hotel and head to the restaurant that is on the 11th floor. Yinghao texted me 20 minutes ago to say that he arrived. He also said the group wasn't too big. Only those who were closer to Xiao Pang showed up.

At the restaurant's entrance, a waiter brings us to the private room. I hold Xiao Wen's hand all the way. When the door to the room gets pushed open, we are immediately greeted with loud noises.

"Oh it is Zexi!" 

The large round table is full already, except for the 2 empty seats beside Yinghao. Everyone waves at me as I scan the room. I recognise most of them even… fuck!

My eyes land on a girl that is sitting beside Xiao Pang. Damn it. She is someone I slept with before. In fact, she was my fuck buddy during university and a few times after. The last time I saw her was a few months ago when I was horny and she was easy. I never really had a serious relationship until Xiao Wen. Since I returned from his world, I stopped texting her and also I deleted most of my contacts. 

I glance at Xiao Wen who is smiling at my friends. I don't know how he will take this. We have never really talked about my past.

I sigh inwardly. I will explain it to him later. I just hope he will be alright.
