The banquet ended peacefully, with extra smugness and extra wide smiles on the faces of everyone from the Emerald Kingdom and the Sapphire Kingdom – especially the people of the Sapphire Kingdom, who was utterly thrilled to have their own beautiful little royal dragon princess! And Alya was so cute that it was impossible not to like her.

Throughout the banquet, Alya sat on Queen Carolina's shoulder, and the monarch of the Sapphire Kingdom focused her full attention on her baby dragon granddaughter, pampering the little one to her heart's content. Jules and Bella exchanged meaningful glances several times, but in the end, didn't interfere. Both Jules and Bella were well aware of how King Jaren spoilt their little Azar, and for once, the young couple could fully empathise with Mana and Raven.

After all, grandparents would always dote on their grandchildren manically, wouldn't they? It was the privilege of any grandparent.

Besides, Jules and Bella had a feeling that Queen Carolina could turn out to be even more indulgent that King Jaren!

Still, none of them wanted to spoil the mood, and they all felt that the two baby dragons deserved to be pampered anyway.

Mana, on the other hand, found that King Jaren was busy with their little Azar (well, it was more like Azar was ordering his dear Grandpapa about and King Jaren was indulging his whims with a doting smile on his face) and that Queen Carolina was doing exactly the same for little Alya (well, Alya was a bit sweeter than Azar when ordering her doting grandparents about) and that Jules and Bella were busy with their own conversation (probably being lovey dovey as usual) – and seeing that all the others were happily occupied, Mana decided that there was no time like the present to question Raven about this famous hair style called 'the kiss of the loving king' and the story behind it. She had noticed that everyone from the Obsidian Kingdom and a lot of high ranking noblemen and noblewomen from the other four kingdoms were astonished by the exquisite hair style, and there were a lot of whispers about it.

And Mana knew nothing about it. And Mana didn't like not knowing things.

So, during the banquet, she coaxed Raven into telling her the whole story and all the hype around the hair style. Raven, of course, was always willing to indulge Mana, and he, too, had seen that everyone else was engrossed with their own activities at the moment – so, in a quiet voice, he told Mana all about the legend and how the hair style had gotten its romantic name and how there were very people in the entire world who would be able to work on this hair style.

Mana was stunned and she had to admit, quite touched in her heart. Then a thought struck her, and her small face crumpled into a mild frown. How had Raven gotten to learn how to do this hair style? When had he learnt it? How had he practised until he had learnt to do it perfectly? Had he done it for anyone before? And if he had, then who was that person? Many questions hovered ceaselessly in her mind.

Mana didn't really think of herself as an overtly jealous person, but the image of Raven loving combing someone else's hair and doing their hair up in this romantic hair style of 'the kiss of the loving king' – the very idea made Mana feel unhappy. She didn't want Raven to do this for anyone other than her.

But she also didn't want to say it out loud to Raven – wouldn't that be like telling him to restrain himself from associating with anyone he wanted to get along with or associate with or work with – and Mana didn't want to do that at all.

However, Raven still caught the negative emotions on Mana's face – although it was not enough to trigger their soulmate bond at all. He didn't know what about the hair style or the legend behind it had made her unhappy – or was it the fact that he had done such a thing for her? A prince doing this hair style for his fiancée was a guarantee of their marriage. It was like Raven was declaring to the world that Mana was his fiancée and he would love her and cherish her and that he would never, ever look at anyone other than Mana as his life partner.

Raven bit his lip anxiously. Had he offended Mana by not telling her about the hair style in advance? Was she unhappy with him now? Did she feel uncomfortable that now everyone from the Obsidian Kingdom and the high ranking nobles from the other kingdoms would be able to know that Raven had chosen Mana for life…? It was somewhat of an ostentatious display of affection – and did Mana feel disgusted with him now because of this?

Looking at the crumbling expression on Raven's face, Mana realised that Raven was worrying again. She sighed and quickly took his hand in her own and patted his hand reassuringly.

Mana immediately tamped down the feelings of envy that were welling up in her mind and smiled at Raven, trying to assure him that there was nothing to worry about.

"How did you learn to do this hair style?" she asked instead of telling him that she was feeling childishly jealous that he may have done this hair style for other people as well.

Raven flushed. "Actually – when – when Father Aqi hired the experts to do it for Mother, I was in the room. The experts were all dressed very brightly, so I was watching them and I saw how they did my Mother's hair up in this style – they normally don't let anyone else in the room other than the person whose hair is being done up – but I was only two years old at the time, so they didn't mind me being there…" he murmured.

Mana's eyes widened in shock. "You were two years old and you saw the process just once and you remember it perfectly even now?" she demanded.

Raven nodded.

Mana chuckled, and asked lightly, "So then, today was the first time you actually put this hair style into practice? On me? You didn't practice on anyone else in all these years?"

Raven shook his head. "I remembered it and thought you would look beautiful with this hair style – if you don't like it, I won't do it again and I'll practice – I'll find another way to practice…" he murmured.

"No way!" Mana said firmly. "You're not allowed to practice on other people!"

Raven stared at her, confused.

Mana sighed. "I was feeling jealous that you have been practising on other people and you have done up other people's hair in this style before me," she confessed softly. "I don't like the idea of you giving 'the kiss of the loving king' to anyone except me. I know it's childish and not very reasonable – but…"

Raven's eyes widened, and the pearlescent rainbow hues of his beautiful eyes looked luminous in the ambient lighting of the banquet hall.

Mana thought that Raven's eyes had never looked so pretty before!

"You – you were jealous?" Raven asked incredulously. "Because – because you thought that I had done this for other people?"

Mana nodded with a pout.

Raven giggled merrily. "There is no need to be jealous. I would never, ever do this hair style for anyone except you, my princess," he told her.

That made Mana smile widely. "I'll hold you to that promise," she warned.

Raven smiled and nodded. "Of course," he said.

Mana was satisfied with this promise from her little fiancé. "Good," she said. "And it's a good thing that you are such a heaven defying genius that you could remember this stuff from so long ago – you are really, really amazing, my darling fiancée."

Raven blushed prettily.

Mana chuckled. "So – if I ask you to give me 'the kiss of the loving king' for all the formal occasions that we go for in the future – would you think that it is too troublesome and get annoyed with me?" she asked.

Raven shook his head. "I will do it for you every single day if you want," he said. "Your hair is very silky and soft."

Mana patted his hand. "You really are too good to me, my dear prince," she told him. "But it is too troublesome for every day use – but I would definitely want to show off my dear Raven's skills to the world at large when we have to attend formal gatherings!" she said.. "But, if you want to just tie up my hair in a simple braid every day, I would be very happy," she added, making a puppy face just like Azar and batting her eyelashes slowly. With her rich and luxuriously long mane of hair, Mana really did feel quite impatient and annoyed at times – and if Raven actually liked handling her hair, then why not let him take up the task for her instead, she thought?
