After pacifying Raven successfully and deciding in her own mind that she wouldn't repeat what Queen Dora had done, Mana felt much better herself.
And Raven looked visibly better, too, Mana noticed with a lot of relief. She had really been worried about him, to be honest.
Since the time for their departure was approaching (and Mana didn't want to leave Raven alone for some instinctive reason right now), Mana suggested that Raven may as well rest in her room instead of going to his own – and then they would join the others when it was time to leave.
Raven didn't object. He didn't reject the hug and he cuddle that Mana gave him, either. Well, not that Raven ever rejected any of Mana's displays of affection, but there were often times when he was thoroughly embarrassed and blushed adorably. Today, however, he simply absorbed the affection like a starving beggar and even leaned closer to Mana than usual.
Mana's heart ached and she hugged him tighter, trying to reassure him silently.
And Mana decided to stay back with Raven instead of accompanying Queen Dora to visit her master. She and Raven could go, but General Aquila couldn't – and if it took a long time, it would be very troublesome for General Aquila. And the last thing Mana wanted was to cause trouble for someone who loved Raven whole heartedly and without any ulterior motives. General Aquila was one of those original people who had loved Raven as his own child since he was born. Mana was probably the only one who thoroughly understood what General Aquila's reappearance meant to Raven – and there was no way she was going to endanger their Father Aqi's well being. Besides, Mana adored Father Aqi as well – to her mind, the next best man and parental figure after her Papa King Jaren, was General Aquila.
So, rather than putting General Aquila in danger, it was best for them to stay back for a bit and let King Jaren, Queen Dora, Big Brother Jules, Big Sister Bella and the two little dragon babies go and visit Queen Dora's master. If all was well, the master would accompany them back – and if not, they would find some way to get General Aquila to accompany them – otherwise, Mana and Raven wouldn't go. Mana had decided fully and finally that she would most definitely stay with Raven this time – and in the future as well, unless it was absolutely essential for them to separate for a bit, Mana would stick to her little fiancé like glue. Especially when he was feeling vulnerable.
And Mana also needed to have a serious conversation with her Mommy Dee who turned out to be Queen Dora about 'The Legend of Mars' and figure out what was going on with that – and what she knew about it.
Since Queen Dora had been thrilled to hear that Mana was engaged to Raven – there was surely some things which she knew that Mana was not aware of.

And also, Mana needed to read the newly opened pages of the book in her head. She closed her eyes and tried to read – but the book simply fluttered and showed her nothing more than random words at the moment – it was still in the process of settling, she supposed. This had never happened before – and more importantly, this time, Mana had a very, very strong feeling (not only from the occasional words that was able to spot when the pages were fluttering, but also from her own instincts and the magic surging through her veins and the events of earlier that day in the sacred ancestral chamber of the Emerald Kingdom and the new royal pendants issued to Mana and Raven) that there was danger coming their way, and she needed to protect not only King Jaren – but also Raven.
And Mana had always relied on her own instincts, even if it went against reason and seemed to be strange when viewed from anyone else's perspective. She had taken decisions at times based on gut instinct alone, and had always come to be grateful for such decisions in hindsight, when her decisions had proved to be correct in the long run.
And right now, Mana's instincts were madly telling her to stick to Raven and not to leave him alone, no matter what. So Mana decided immediately that she would do exactly that – Jules and Bella and the two little dragons were powerful enough to protect King Jaren in case something went wrong.
And, as for Queen Dora, Mana wondered if whatever curse had been there on her was fully purified by the innate magic of the Emerald Kingdom in the sacred ancestral chamber of the Emerald Kingdom earlier that morning. If it had been, then why had the innate magic of the Emerald Kingdom waited until everyone else had stepped out before pulling back King Jaren and Raven and Mana and the two little dragons? From what Mana remembered, Queen Carolina and General Aquila and Rook had been the first people to step out of the sacred ancestral chamber, followed by Jules and Bella, and then Queen Dora had stepped out while King Jaren had been holding the door open the entire time. It was not until Queen Dora had stepped out that King Jaren, Mana and Raven had been called back in with the two little dragon babies – not that any doors or wards mattered to little Azar and Alya – those two could go in anywhere they wanted without any barriers – it was a really cool thing, and also a bit scary at times. Just how powerful were their baby dragons?
Also, Mana would be lying if she said that she was not concerned about this mysterious master of Queen Dora. She had not forgotten that Queen Dora had appeared when the cursed living ghost corpse Vir, the supposedly late father of Big Sister Bella and the supposedly late husband of Queen Carolina and the supposedly late King Consort of the Sapphire Kingdom – had escaped from the most secure dungeons of the Sapphire Kingdom, and that, too, when the rainbow net that was holding him captive was unbreakable without some very, very powerful magic.
Could it be that Queen Dora's master was involved in this entire incident? And if he was involved in it, what was his purpose? Why had he taken away the cursed living ghost corpse Vir and why had he left behind Queen Dora who had been in a coma for quite a few months until then? And, more importantly, if he was involved in this incident, then was he also connected with necromancy and creation of cursed living ghost corpses? How had the cursed living ghost corpse come into being, in that case? And how much danger would Queen Carolina and Big Sister Bella would be in with the whereabouts of the cursed living ghost corpse Vir being unknown to all of them? Had he been able to break through the rainbow net yet? This seemed to be unlikely, because if the rainbow net, which had been cast by Mana, Raven and Azar jointly by pooling their magic together, had been broken up or destroyed by the cursed living ghost corpse Vir while he was making his escape from the deepest dungeons of the Sapphire Kingdom, some remnants of the torn rainbow net would have remained in the room.
However, there was absolutely no trace of the rainbow net being destroyed in the dungeon room where the cursed living ghost corpse Vir had been kept captive, and thus, Mana thought that it would be safe enough for them assume (at least for a few days) that the rainbow net had not been broken and that the cursed living ghost corpse Vir was still tightly bound within the confines of the rainbow net. Otherwise, if he had been out loose in the Sapphire Kingdom, someone or the other would have seen his face and recognised him – it was very clear from his handsome face that he shared blood with the beautiful Crown Princess Bella – and given how popular and well loved Bella was in the Sapphire Kingdom, the news that a man (well, a cursed living ghost corpse, rather than a man, actually) who looked very similar to the beloved Crown Princess Isabel of the Sapphire Kingdom was walking around and had been spotted in any part of the Sapphire Kingdom – this news would have most definitely reached the imperial palace of the Sapphire Kingdom.
And it also meant that Queen Carolina would have to be very, very careful and monitor any news of the cursed living ghost corpse very strictly – and in addition to that, she would also need to check up on her own people. None of them wanted the cursed living ghost corpse Vir to kill another loyal person from among the imperial shadow guards or among the imperial staff members or people close to Queen Carolina and to steal their face again, like he had done before!
